By-passing the cat will help performance from what i've heard (yet to do it yet myself). If your car was registered in 1990 then it doesn't need a cat. Think it was about sept 92 that they started needing cats to pass the emissions tests. And welcome to the forum.

G60 - But still, why do away with a feature that will only improve performance of the car?? Where the hell is the positive outcome of removing the brake cooling ducts? Seems ridiculous! Brian - Still a valid point!!
-
Yeah that was pretty much my assumption. "Right so we have a G60 bumper with brake ducting that must have positive effects on the cooling of the brakes....... We now need to develop the VR6 bumper........I know, let's do away with the ducting and make a few changes to the bumper that make absolutely no positive effect at all!!! Genius!!!"

I think if I was considering one then I would be put off quite a lot but just how much it would spoil the look of the C. However, you can't argue with preventing harm to the paint and it also looks like quite a good quality kit.

Callibra Turbo? (know sod-all about these) older style M3?
-
So why on earth did veedub do away with the brake ducting on the VR's?
-
Hopefully you guys are using the poll to express your interest, rather than just posting a reply?

I'm pretty sure that there was an early mk2 turbo diesel golf dazzy. Early meaning around 88.
-
Not really tuning and mods and more of a general car theme so I'll move this. As for the engine, I seriously doubt a * factory-stock* twin turbo VR. I believe that these engines have been created though.

Sorry Nigel - no Digi cam at the moment.

Funny knocking noise when slowing and lifting off clutch.
VR6 replied to GazzaG60's topic in Engine Bay
I was about to post something about this. Sometimes when the clutch is near the floor you get a sort of clunk through the pedal. Worn clutch? -
Unfortunately, I think mine have a silver logo. Other than that they seem the same. (mine are black btw)

Seems like good advice Brian. Worth noting though that on the downside of grooved discs is that they eat pads a lot quicker. A reasonable trade-off though for a really good braking setup. I think that when the time comes to renew mine, I will be speaking with Darren about a brembo cupra brake setup.

Put me down (provisionally) for a set Nigel. Depends on price/whether I can afford them at the time etc. I think you will have difficulty fitting a lhd set to a rhd car. Both mats are quite different.
-
Aye, might be interested. Only really need a drivers mat though. Not that I'll be able to get just one! Unless you guys that get the new mats want to sell one of the old ones?
-
Will close this assuming the answer probably lies in the other thread.

I believe that the 'D' in 'PD' motorsport is for Darren, so I assume he doesn't sweep the floors for money. Could you two stop taking this thread off on a tangent please and agree to disagree? Ta.

Just been hearing that a lot of people thought the 1/4 mile times and 0-60's were very optimistic.........and this is from people that actually ran.

A red rental Corsa by any chance? Sounds like some of the boys from the ClubGTI forum.
-
Righto - looking like a good response - thanks chaps. I will be making a donation to Andi's running costs out of some of the proceeds (once I break even, that is!!). I have ordered a couple of stickers and will post some pictures once I get them on. In the meantime, keep the votes coming in! :)

Only just seen the attachment - wasn't there before!
-
Nah, I guess he has it already - he does a lot of veedub work and said he could do them. Thanks anway Jim. Btw, "like zis" looks like normal text! :)
-
Right........... Paul - noted re the height of the sticker. 20mil height seem reasonable to everyone? Was kind of unsure about the capital 'C' for Corrado. Does it deserve a capital? We normally write it with a capital letter. But I see your point and it might look better all in lower-case. Darren - that looks good mate. I think I will order a few of these stickers for myself and post some pictures. See how the 'etched' look compares to yours. Not sure about the vag font darren - my contact has said that he can do it, so I'm trusting him! lol Jim - cheers matey :) Thanks for voting, people - keep em coming in!

It's an idea. Might push price up a bit tho if you start wanting custom design's etc. At the moment, all I'm trying to do is quantify the general interest. At the end of the day, I can't please everyone. There will *always* be someone who wants a different colour or a different style or a different size or different lettering. I have gone for a very simple sticker so as to try and keep as many people as possible, happpy. White lettering. Clear background. The forum's URL. Simple. I have to say though that I am open to suggestions on the size. Semi-rant over. Sorry. Bad day.
-
Hope you've voted :) Well recommend what size you think would be best - I just got quotes for stickers for a size that I picked out of the air.
