    16v to VR6

Yeah I agree Roddy...... Personally I would leave this one alone unless I knew the history of the donor gear, knew the person doing the transplant had done something similar, knew that it was a fixed cost to do it etc. I think I would pass this one up.

I can kinda see both sides to this - the positive and the negative... If you are really going to be shelling out a fair bit of cash on your car as it is then it might be worth considering the transplant. If the engine comes with the ECU and all the electrical bits etc then it might be worth investing in. What happened to the syncro setup? I took a gamble on mine and paid £3.5k for a car that didn't run and needed electrics doing (something I didn't fancy taking on myself!). In the end, when I got someone to sort it (complete wiring overhaul), it was for a reasonable amount - £600. This included dash in and out as well which is not a nice task in iteslf. My point is that sometimes you do have to take a gamble. But make sure that you have weighed up all of the factors first. Your mechanic could be being very optimistic for the price and you could get a bill for double! If it dies a week later, will he sort it or deny all knowledge? Up to you in the end.
  3. And the rest probably......
  4. Well? :) http://www.rauscher-tuning.at/turbo_corrado.htm

In fact, here's a VR6 syncro for sale :) I think the figure of 'only 50 produced' is inaccurate though. [web]http://uk.mobile.de/cgi-bin/search.pl?C ... golf%20vr6[/web] EDIT: ok, so it doesn't actually state 2.9.....but trust me, it is! :)

There were indeed a special edition syncro Golf that had the 2.9 lump. Will have a hunt round if you want a bit more information?
  7. Wouldn't have said CV joint myself....more of a clicky noise than a clanky one! Also, CV joints aren't the most expensive part to replace and although pretty straight forward to do, they are quite time consuming (especially as last time I had to do 2! )
  8. Welcome Roby! Get some pics up in the gallery as soon as you can :)
  9. Spotted me first R32 today and was well implressed with it! /checks bank balances and behind the sofa for any loose change

  11. Congrats matey - I presume John asked you if you actually wanted to be on the committee??

    Audi TT wheels

Would Audi TT wheels, 16's I think, fit straight onto the VR?
  13. Can you not either re-trim yours or find another interior and trim that in grey leather? What are the wheels by the way? Voodoo's?

    40k service

Ok, so I can't see this being asked too many times but I'm about to book mine in for it's 40k service....... What exactly does this involve? All fluids + plugs ... anything else?
  15. Looking even better mate! Echoing what Roddie said, some body-kits you look at and think 'uurrgh' but yours really sets off the corrado body very well. Love the wheels as well! What's next then?
  16. Cheers Jim ('sCorrado) and Cheers Jim(16v)! If you could sort the parts out for us Jim I'd be very grateful! If you get a quote from your stealer (with a discount would be great, because I'm a bit short on the folding stuff myself at the moment!) and let me know. I'll drop a cheque in the post for you. Cheers
  17. Ok, I want to get the lupo wipers...... Where can I get them online and do I go for 2x drivers or one of each?? Seem to be differing opinions!
  18. Sorry to hear that Jim - goes from bad to worse doesn't it. Maybe it's the universe's way of telling you that you should've kept the C? Seriously though, I hope you get it sorted cheaply and quickly. Any chance of getting it fixed under warranty?
  19. I quite like it personally. The car verges a bit on OTT but I think it's quite a good looking car. Although what's wrong with taking a straight picture?? :D
  20. Could you keep it in the other thread please Ant mate?
  21. It's a good mix of town and country driving really (with a few speed humps thrown in!). Think I will save up and go for the Koni coilovers I think. Just wonder what else is worth replacing whilst I'm at it??
  22. I think my passenger side window works one-touch on the way up as well?! Pretty sure I can work both windows at once - I mean they are independent switches are they not? Apart from a bigger strain on the battery, I don't see why they shouldn't work together.
  23. hehe - no matter. I'm just interested as to who the chicken called Dave is! :clown:
