  1. Yeah, go on Jim. Get your ass down there!! You know you want to! I think it would be a bit too much of a trek for me. Would love to go though. Gonna try and make next years (or one a lot later this year) though.
  2. Kev, If it's a G60/VR6 then the engine/running gear will definitely be worth getting if it's going cheap enough! Alternatively, things like door handles are always things that knacker and are, therefore, worth getting your hands on (either to sell on, or for your own use). If you're trying to make a few quid and have the time/skills to dismantle and sell the parts then you should definitely be able to make some money. Depends a lot on condition as well though. HTH BTW, net-etiquette deems that by typing in CAPS, you are shouting. Best to avoid if possible. Cheers
  3. Right, as promised, here is a thread that will hopefully work similar to the ebay feedback system.
  4. They screw you whatever you do! I was arguing with a woman from belldirect when she told me that for a 1% increase in power, it would be a 10% increase in premium!! Nuts! So I was asking her that if I uprated all the brakes, thus increasing stopping power, would she reduce the premium! didn't have an answer to that other than 'no'! Anyone want to set up a Corrado insurance company??
  5. Nigel - I think that's what Jon meant.
  6. Doesn't seem like a bad price though so if you do find a few defects like door handles (a very common problem  ) or a bit of damp (usually a dodgy membrane in the door as you probably know from the Golfs) etc then It could still be worth buying. Definately budget for the charger overhaul (not sure of a price as I don't have one! lol). As Andy says, don't be afraid to walk away - there are quite a lot of G60's out there (just happen to be a lot of people looking for them!) God i've used a lot of brackets......
  7. All the way from the ClubGTI forum eh? ;) Welcome to the forum. Have a look in common corrado questions as there is a thread in there about buying advice. Might be worth searching all forums for 'G60' to see what sort of things people are saying. should give you a general idea of things that can go wrong and hopefully, things to look for when buying.
  8. Standard at the moment  Will have to get that sorted pronto!

    VR6 Tech Info

Bloody hell Andi!!!!! Will take half a days holiday tomorrow and give that a read!!
  10. Andy - don't think tha the lock pin for £3 is the part needed. The release pin I was talking about is all part of the handle mechanism and becasue it is cast it obviously gets brittle over time and breaks off. Too fiddly to try and re-attach so it's easier to either buy a new handle or go for the de-locked passat handle route.
  11. You will need to replace the whole handle - about £50 from EuroCarParts IIRC. It's usually the release pin that snaps off. http://corrado.atx-hosting.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=169 This might be worth thinking about tho.
  12. It's a cracking colour anyway! Like the photoshop job on that picture.
  13. There is some specialist tar/gunk remover stuff that you can get. Have a scour (pun intended :D ) on the internet and if you can't find anything I can ask my mate who works as a valet.
  14. Not seen one yet although I doubt before long there will be plenty of them over here. Seriously, because of the huge finance sector over here, which obviously means a LOT of rich people (but not me  ), there are so many performance cars. You can go on a 20 mile trip (and no that's not the top of the island to the bottom!!) and see about 4 Audi TT's, 7 Scooby STI's, couple of TVR's, couple of porsche's, a ferrari etc.
  15. Just put on some Avon ZZ1's (I'm pretty sure it was something like that!) on the front and I'm pretty pleased with them in the wet and dry.....I don't think the price was not too bad either at £170 fitted for the pair.

    ABS

Simplest way of checking is look int the dash (to your left) where the fog/rear window heater etc switches are - there should be a big orange ABS light.
  18. This thread is the equivalent of a snuff film......

    Stiff accelerator pedal

Don't use just WD40 - it acts as a degreasant and will eventually dry out. Best thing is something simple like engine oil or 3-in-one.

    Squeeky brakes

Jim - presume you mean the lip that forms at the edge of the disc? Spose the easiest way, if you have the tools, is a lathe and machine the edge off. Or as Jim says, de-fuzz it  ........ Sorry mate :D
  21. LOL@the bonnet in bottom left!! he "flipped" as in power-boat style?
  22. Looks more like a wheel trim lol - probably wrong as per though
  23. Do later C's have airbags? Over than large-breasted girlfriends, of course... Looking at the pic again, looks a bit too inflated to be an airbag thats gone off. Isn't it just the sound-proofing off the bonnet?
  24. I think this topic should be deleted............makes me too sad............ /finger poises over button
