  3. its a long shot but check the balance weight thingy :-) on the driveshaft hasnt worked loose and is rubbing as the engine moves under de celleration
  4. anyone have these ? did they make much difference to the braking efficiency ? if you only do the front lines , does this then alter the brake bias much ? any particular manufacturer you recommend i.g. goodridge ? cheers paul
  5. realised my mot had ran out on tuesday, passed :-)
  6. i'd re wire using a different perm liveand earth point, it can only lose this if these wires are poor unless the h/u is at fault
  7. very nice mate , i think the wheel shape exaggerates the ride height, i bet its a comfy ride tho, a slight drop would be nice the bodywork looks like its well worth sorting the oily bits
  8. excellent source of info http://www.talkaudio.co.uk/vbb/showthre ... 8f&t=30101
  9. try holding the arm button down or if there are two buttons then hold both this works as a scan for some alarm fobs
  10. looks a very honest vr imo , a bit of tlc on the bodywork and it'll be a minter, i dont find the petrol that bad tbh and mine is a daily driver enjoy :-)

    Help

sounds daft but make sure the wheels are tight and check them for marks or scoring , esp on the inside what was the difference in the wheels eg.. 17" to 15" ? also check the lining under the arches hasnt fell
  12. scorpion are much better at making bike end cans imo i've got a magnex , good fit and great sound
  13. 37.8 ?? wow , never seen that , i've seen 9 mpg tho :-)
  14. i've got the 9600 and i havent seen an option to turn off the illumination
  15. nice :-) looks stealthy
  16. drive on full lock if it clicks/clunks its an outer cv also check the track rod ends and ball joints is the camber set correctly ? check tyre wear and look from the front of the car do the wheels look at the same angle ?
  17. probably sell it when either i get bored or too many bits fall off :-) if you are interested in a golf gttdi then take one for a run , most vw dealers are more than pleased to offer a test drive
  18. just some led's and red film , took about 1/2 hr to do if the camber is going off another slight indicator is that the steering wheel will not be straight when the car is going straight
  19. if it is the camber and its making that much difference then you should be able to see it , stand at the front of the car and look at each wheel, does it look as though one is leaning more than the other ? forget vw go to a decent place , i had mine done at demon tweeks , 4 wheel alignment and it was £40 if its very bad then you can adjust it yourself til you get it somewhere, i did mine, where the strut meets the hub at the bottom ofthe shock there are two bolts , undo these and you'll see it adjust the angle of the hub where are the tyres wearing , normally bad camber will show them wearing on the inside of the tyre badly like i said before also check the disc isnt getting very hot on that side as you could have a sticking piston on your caliper
  20. yeah its as simple as that mate , undo the lock ring and adjust to the height you want i would advise you to cover the exposed threads on the shock with some tape as the have a tight thread and get very dirty which in time makes them very difficult to adjust measure from a fixed point on the bottom of the shock to ensure the both shocks are set equal
