An RS4 made my VR6 look like it was standing still...
marcus replied to DEL VR6's topic in General Car Chat
All youd need is about 360bhp in a VRT to beat an RS4 (obviously not past 155mph though). The Corrado is are much lighter remember. Theres a guy who on a 6 hour journey repeatedly beat his mates RS4 with his VRT, has the longer 5th gear too. I dont think it was the V8 one though :? . -

They dont get away from me too easily thats for sure  . -
 Quality, Cant believe he recovered that, he shouldve been over!!! how bizarre. LOL

Ive heard Helix is the best to go for from many people and is what ive gone for. The Phirm rate them highly and obviously Stealth must do also if they sell them. Ive heard negative reports from people with paddle clutches due to there awkwardness for everyday driving.

JMC, They look nice mate. 8)

The nicest colour. Looks a decent C, cleaned up pretty good too :). Guess your gona use it as your run around and not mod it?
-
If you got rid of your C what modern car would you have?

Id go for the new Z4 M Coupe in dark blue. has the m3 engine in a much lighter body :) . 360bhp N/A. But thats mainly for the looks. Would have to spend alot more than 9k on the current market to match my 400bhp VRT  -
As you said your not upton doing the work yourself, id guess the cost involved with labour to fit aand buy a turbo kit would be around 3-4K. If you find a cheapish VR with some nice mods already completed, you could save even more money not having to buy brakes, suspension, wheels etc.

Sos no links. just know of various pple that have paid for parts, not got them, tried contacting Eip and been told what i said. Plus my Turbo kit was missing an oil cooler, they never sent another one after 4 months of being asked to.
-
Also..Eip have gone/going bust....to the best of my knowledge. Give them a call anyway as theyre selling off all stock, so you may get a good deal.
-
This thread is a good lil discussion :-), as Ive been running 7 psi on the turbo VR and been wondering why its gripping so well without a Peloquin? So these answers are all good for me :-).

That was a good birthday pressie mate, Looks like a scary ride!!! How much are they to buy/build then?
-
Nice one Rob. Good to see you out on the roads enjoying the power. Glad you done the 350z. :)
-
They are fantastic. The best car ive ever owned, Worth every penny. Go get one Luke. :)
-
The cameras wont catch us all :) . Its only illegal if you get caught. .

Always good to find out as much as you can Leanoard, so dont worry about the questions. BUT, mpg really isnt worth concerning yourself about...its always gona be low with modded engines. :-)

I had no problems with the Eip manifold (the whole left hand drive kit went on fine), I think its more down to the size of the turbo and pipework you go for, Jimmi using a huge Turbo. I have 3' outlet which is a squeeze, but the engine needed to be raised almost an inch to prevent an rubbing. Thats with a t3/4 turbo. Hope this helps.

Just though id post an update on the project. Oil cooler, exhaust and brakes went on today. Tim needs a couple of days to set up the fuelling, actuator settings etc MOTnext week,so should get the car back taround wednesday. :D Running 10psi for a couple of weeks.
-
WELCOME! :) Hurry up reducing the pics.
-
Thanks Kev. Bit pricey, but going by what you say, is cetainly worth it, im gonna get one. I cant believe i hadnt heard anyone mention them before!!!! :?
-
Choose a turbo with minimal lag! turbo power delivery always 'feels' stronger to drive than a charger.
-
Any of you guys fitted a EGT gauge? There existence has just been brought to my attention :) If not, what are your opinions on these, are they worth it etc? Ta
-
Sounding good Rob. I think your taking the right route in going for gradual power increases. Is cost effective, still fun, plus u alwys have something extra to work towards. Storm Developments are only 20 mins up my road, give me a shout when u pop there so i can see your car.
-
Kit all in and ready to go for test drives to set all various boosts etc. :D Rest of the bay needs a clean up though!
-
Christ Kev, :( , sos to see that, its shite luck, so you think the spring caused it?? what was it set at? You have now created a fear in me  , think mine is due to be set at 12 ish?? what do you think?
