Not sure - the US G60 engines have a lower power output due to the US emissions regulations. They only have 140mph speedo's too......
-
Quite possible - Darren (g-werks) will be able to confirm - he's a SNS chip supplier..
-
Screwed into the radiator - halfway down the pass side..
-
Workshp airgun - turned to "max" wouldn't shift mine - I had to swing on a 2ft breaker bar to get the old bolt out..
-
Nice one - we always like to help... Convenient place to break down - if there is a convenient place to break down, that is.....

Sounds like either the thermostat is faulty or you have a faulty temp sender for the fan.
-
A20 LEE, I completely agree, I just don't understand the us & them attitude. AFAIK the CCGB curently have no plans for a calendar. CF calendar sounds like an excellent idea.. I'll definitely be getting one.
-
Blue 16V, I'm a CCGB member m8 & also a moderator here on the forum - what's your problem ? I suggest you reply by PM .

SNS chips are not all the same - they do several different maps - depending on the extras that are fitted to the car. Send Daz (g-werks) a PM - username gman

aks_uk, new fuel distributors retail at around £350 from VW - give me a shout if you need one, I should be able to get a new one for you, cheaper that that. Dead easy to remove - just unscrew the securing bolts & it lifts off.
-
AFAIK - only Corrados with "Plus" axle are the VR6's The difference, so far as the mounting is concerend is the top mounts - they're different on the VR. The "plus" axle type springs will also be stronger as the VR has a heavier engine.
-
I have a baton glued to the rear panel with "No-Nails" - works a treat..
-
Noooo - the disc retaining screw will just shear off...
-
Golf GTI MK1 has a DX engine - the crank bolt is not a "stretch" bolt like the Corrado one.

Should be able to check your alternator bearings for "feel" - just spin the alternator shaft by hand & see if there's any play in the bearings. Could also be your long wide belt slapping around - possible weak tensioner shocker/spring assy.
-
Lock the flywheel with a large flat screwdriver, wedged between the ring gear & bell housing (may need a friend to help you).
-
aks_uk, Could be a sticking valve inside the fuel distributor. I had this problem with my old Scirocco 1.8i. I removed the fuel distributor, shook it around & tapped it gently on the workbench. Re-fitted it to the car & my problem was solved. While your car is running - try tapping the fuel distributor with a spanner, see if that clears the problem.

Is that one quite accurate then Daz ?

45560 – Corrado front Shocker (not VR) £42.50 + vat 45557A – Golf MK2 & MK3 front Shocker £28.00 +vat Looks like the shockers that you have are Golf ones... :(

Likely be worn CV joints - I changed all 4 on my G60 and it felt much better. Change the outer anti roll bar bushes/links as well - they're fairly cheap & will be quite worn if they're still the original ones.
