  1. If you have a rattle when the window is closed - a plastic clip on the window mech is ratting against the bottom of the glass, just glue it back in place. If you have a rattle when the window is open - glass is likely to be loose in the window channel or against the window seals on top of the door edge (just above the door handle).
  2. I've just taken ownership of a RS front bumper for my G60. It was originally purchased for a pre-facelift G60, mine is later spec & has the VR front end. Without mucking around to measure mine - will this RS bumper fit ?? Are the pre-facelift bumpers narrower - bearing in mind that the later cars have wider front wings ??
  3. Bit late spotting this one  Any decent bodyshop will be able to roll your arches - beware though, the paint sometimes cracks & may need re-painting !!
  4. Spend £30 or so & get a HPI check done - that's the only way to confirm the car's full history.
  5. Different reason to you lot - I just hate front wheel drive cars  Great for snow but I far prefer rwd cars for fast driving/cornering. :rambo:
  6. Blue_Joe, - if you need a sub - send me a pm. I have a spare  If you're near Erdington, I can show you my 11 speaker setup, MDF parcel shelf, etc - maybe give you a few ideas. Important thing to look for in your prospective speakers is the distortion measurement - this will give you a far better idea of which is best quality, rather than overall peak power limits. Best speakers have the lowest distortion. Where & how you mount them also is extremely important if you want them to sound good. I can also make-up a wiring kit or even do the install for you.
  7. Doh.. well I didn't think it would be a GSF stocked part to be honest.. trim and such pieces would be more of a dealer part? :) I worked for Mercedes for 13 years - just been trying to get hold of their technical manager (friend of mine) on the phone - looks like he's on holiday though :( Mercedes tend to view their own reputation as being better than anybody elses & it is highly unlikely that this "Karmann" badge originated from one of their vehicles.
  8. Im sticking by my prediction,i never mentioned that ive seen a Karmann badge on one but-im 99% sure its the very same make and model and the exact spot i mentioned, somebody has replaced the Kompressor badges with the Karmann one. Cheers Fraser I thought we were trying to find the origin of the badge :?:
  9. MNuTz, - My g/f lives in Shrewsbury - I can still have a look if you like :?: I live next to the M6 in Birmingham so it's not too far. 6 owners ain't too much - mine's had 5 (including me).
  10. Harry, - u sure it's not the 5th (cold start) injector ?? If that's foobarred you'll b running lean on startup - similar to running an old car with no choke.

The CAT info was supplied to me by a reputable MOT tester in Leeds. Is it possible that your car was emitting too much even for the pre 1994 levels ?? Cars don't fail MOT's for not having a CAT, they fail because the emissions are beyond alowable limits relevent to the age of the car.
  12. Not sure exactly how far mine is lowered (approx 3-4 inches) but I've tried to get it onto a r/r - no chance at all :? Spoiler isn't the problem - ripped that off in MacDonalds car park around 6 months ago. It's the front subframe that's too low. Need a re-map & some other stuff, so I wouldn't be going on the rollers anyway. Gonna have to raise my suspension to get the map done :(
  13. We should be able to sell you a rear VW badge for a little less than that.
  14. Sorry to p**s on your bonfire matey - MK1 SLK's had no external (factory fitted) Karmann badges at all. Only badges fitted in front of the doors were "Kompressor" badges Badge must have originated from a different vehicle
  15. Sounds a tad expensive

How old's your VR Kev ?? Although CAT's were fitted to new cars by law from August 1992, the MOT emissions requirement was not enforced until August 1994. Meaning that if your car was first registered before August 1994, you can safely remove your CAT & still pass the MOT test.
  17. My m8 just fitted some EBC "redstuff" ceramic pads to his beemer. He swears by them but they don't work hardly at all when they're cold !! Similar to driving a car with no servo !! If you do get some - make sure your brakes are red hot when you take it for MOT.
  18. chris CORRADO, - pmsl - that's the first Corrado I've seen that's lower than mine 8)
