  1. Yiippeeee - more timing advance.. :D 8) Might be able to do 8 degrees now.. :D :D
  2. 100 RON in some European countries although I think it's closer to 98 RON in this country.
  3. Alex - top marks mate. You deserve a beer for that one.. :drinking:
  4. Andy T - Sorry mate, I was having a "bad day". Slightly sarcastic response was uncalled for. In answer to your question - I'm a qualified vehicle technician (13 years Mercedes-Benz & 2 years VWUK) with a further 2 years working as an "Aftersales Manager". Although I am currently unemployed.. :( You are correct - sometimes an acceptable ride quality can be achieved with lowering springs (30mm max drop) & standard shocks. However, based on experience, matching the springs & shocks gives a far better ride quality. As different drivers have different expectations regarding ride quality, I would always advise either matching the shocks & springs, fitting coilovers or even fitting a custom built system (as andycowuk has done). 5. You'll be :2gunfire: for 1st place at the R/R day at Dubsport ehh.. 8)
  6. If you can discover how to make the Bentley Manual work properly in IE6 - you will forever be known as the "Bentley Manual God".. :thumbleft: 8)
  7. ....9 points!!! 3 for speeding 6 for driving without due care & attention - reversed into a bollard in a 7.5ton truck !!
  8. John Munyard's a great guy - forum username corozin CCGB has had & will continue to get my full support.. :thumbleft: Leonard - you could very easily sort out all of your CCGB "issues" by contacting John via PM or email. As you have so far chosen not to do this, I can only assume that your sole intention is just to give the club a bad name.
  9. Andy T - my appologies - you obviously know far more about vehicle suspension systems than I do..
  10. G60 firing order is 1-3-4-2
  11. Don't worry - they'll find what's wrong for you. So long as it's not "using" oil or water & your charger's okay, it shouldn't be too expensive. Probably just a faulty sensor or maybe some bad wiring.
  12. Chris Knott were a whole £300 cheaper than anybody else could quote me !! Quoted £847 (fully comp) last month - 34yrs - 9 points & 2yrs no-claims - fairly well modded G60 - all declared !!
  13. Be very wary of buying "low mileage" cars - unless you can verify via service records, MOT's, etc. 1.8 16v's are usually very reliable - can't really go far wrong with mechanical injection systems.
  14. Nice looking car.. 8) Wouldn't take me long to get the extra 3 points I need for a ban tho.. :(
  15. Welcome to the 200+ bhp club.... :rambo: 8) :thumbleft:
  16. Multi-pin connectors on Teves 02 ABS 35-pin connector for ABS Control Module (J104). 7-pin connector for valve block.
  17. ABS pump is just underneath the coolant expansion tank. It has a few brakepipes attatched to it. (that's where it is on my G60)
  18. g60bv - the advice offered in the thread below is very valid :- http://corrado.atx-hosting.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=5810 You cannot run stiffened lowering springs with standard length shocks & expect to have a good ride quality. All lowered suspension systems must be stiffer than standard or else the suspension would "bottom out" over bumps in the road. Standard length shocks will not be strong enough to cope with the strength of lowering springs. Whoever gave you the advice of fitting standard length shocks in combination with Eibach lowering springs was, sadly, very incorrect. The 2 suspension type options that you have are :- 1. Fit "matched" lowering springs & uprated (shorter & stiffer) shock absorbers. 2. Fit a coilover suspension system. My advice for you would be to have a ride in somebody else's Corrado with either of these 2 types of suspension already fitted & see what you think. There is a rolling-road day at Dubsport (Manchester) in the middle of January - do you live anywhere near there ?? We are expecting at least 20 Corrados there, all with varying suspension systems. I'm sure some of the people there would be very happy to take you out for a run round.
  19. I bought it from the local petrol station.. :D It's called a "4 in 1 Hands Free Car Kit". Came in a box with some other attatchments that I didn't need & threw away.
  20. I have a hands-free kit in my car. The back of the cradle just plugs into the lighter socket - no wires anywhere. It has an internal microphone & loudspeaker with volume control. It also charges the phone battery. Phone uses it's own internal aerial. Fantastic piece of kit - had it for 5 months now & it only cost a tenner..
  21. Oh, you will be missed...
  22. I can get around 400 miles to a 15 gallon tankfull, although usually nearer to 350 cos I tend to thrash it a bit. I also have a very suspect hall sender !! Running just over 200bhp - R1 charger, 68mm pulley, etc, etc, etc. You guy's have definitely got a few problems.. Main problems/likely areas I've found are :- knackered charger seals boost leak faulty O2 sensor (or faulty wiring to it) incorrect timing - should be set to approx 7 degrees BTDC if using optimax vacuum leak - will also cause incorrect MFA readings I would get somebody to diagnose exactly what's wrong with your car before spending money on parts which may not need replacing !! bootsy - You will save a fortune & a lot of time by booking your car into somewhere like Dubsport & getting the pro's to have a look for you. They're very close to Manchester & may not be far from you.
  23. Gonna have to check mine too - if they do heat up at all, it's very slowly.
