Thinking about cleaning my ISV - my valver can be a touch tempermental for a short period after starting. What is the details on cleaning them? Had a search but didnt find a thread with details on valver ISV specifically - thoght id better check the process is the same as for VRs etc Cheers

In getting the C ready for paint it was necessary to remove the wing mirrors - the last 17yrs of rain had rusted the heads of the screw so i drilled them out :) 2 of the 4 bolts then came out nice and easy and this is what im left with :( Any suggestions would be great...

Had the same prob myself > both sides tho. The only solution i found was to chop the top plate off with a grinder - then you can work on the shock off the car.

Mine are both orig VW keys - they say the profile on them, well mine do. hang on il grab a pic Edit - Pics dont really help, dont come out well enough to see

A little advice needed.. Got the handles off and all was well - broke some bits (due to age not violence) but im just installin ETKA so no issues really to find out what they were Problem: The locks on the car dont match... wait for it... Ignition key is AN profile not AH Drivers door is different from ignition (AH) Pass door is same as ignition (AN) Boot doesnt work with either - not so much of an issue to solve Problem being ive just shelled out for an origional uncut 16v key (£25) from germany, which the profile is... AH how much of an issue is it to change the ignition barrell or have the new key cut the same as the ignition key and hope it works with a different profile :scratch:

If this becomes something regular id be well interested, in tqy so not that far from any of the suggested locations. Mine goes into the body shop on fri :D otherwise i would have made it to a meet sooner

As my C is my toy (second car) and i dont drive it all year round, im looking for a classic / limited mileage insurance policy. Is anybody else been in the same situation and found a good insurance company for this kind of policy or is it not a viable option? - i.e intended for old timers with cars from 1920!

Mine lives in my garage - gets started and run up to temp at least every 10days/2 weeks.Had a golf before my C and the only issue i had with it standing was the bushes and rubbers perishin - At the end of last summer i went over my C and greased all bushes etc in an attempt to stop it - can only try. Havent driven it since mid of DEC tho :( - its undergoing some heavy TLC in prep for the summer :D >triggermyson - just realised ure from cornwall ~ u usally at RTTS? remember a C like ures.
