  1. Interesting, I've only heard praise for the Puma, but you'r G60 spec is impressive so I'm sure it will feel better than most cars out there.
  2. yea Henny! lol, how strange!? It will definitley work if you have the cash but a TDI is the way forward for dervs I think and is more cost effective., although maybe a Supercharged diesel V8 or bigger may be useful. Just wonder if VW will bring out a TT diesel like Vauxhall, PSA/Jag etc and BMW.
  3. I think Diesels are better off with turbos. Because diesels don't rev high, the Supercharger would add to this problem and a remapped PD will come on boost at 1700rpm anyway. And PD engines are so much better than the old non PD 8vs. So, maybe realistically, get a nice 16vPD that is much smoother, refined and rev happy than the old 8vPD's. Just a thought, great idea tho.
  4. I think it would be a brilliant project although very tricky, stick a new 16V PD140 in there and remap it, then it will give a VR a run for it's money although maybe not as satisfying to drive.
  5. they definitley take some getting used to, but if you'r doing 20k a year, I think it may be worth the savings. A good suspension set up and tyres will go a fair way to helping with loss of traction too. I still wouldn't even think of selling my C in the next year tho, best car I've ever had.
  6. cool, let us know when you get it, just how good it is etc, so is your 20VT just a side project? is she up and running yet? very interesting, sorry to hijack thread.
  7. 137k and she's still getting quicker, lol
  8. well that's it! although I think the miltek is pretty expensive, there is a guy on cupra.net that had 195bhp and 320+ pounds of torue just from the Jabba remap and cupra intake, but of course every engine is slightly different, you may "only see 180+bhp, still, not bad for about 500 quid, lol
  9. yea, can't agree moe, I couldn't really care less for 0-60 figures, when I test a car, I like to find a nice straight, do 30mph in 4th and put you'r foot down, this is where you really see how flexible the VR is, she just keeps on pulling.
  10. yea, you would easily notice the difference between a 130 & 150, just by driving them although the 150 does come with a FMIC which is kind of cool, but cpufreak on cupra.net has fitted a FMIC to his Ibiza. Did you listen to the car while it was in neutral? have heard lots of horror gearbox stories thats all. To confuse matters further, I think there was a 115 PD with a 5 speed aswell. I'm so tempted to get something like an Ibiza 130- and just add Jabba, Cupra intake and miltek= 195bhp +300+ torque, but I've heard they suffer from heat soak, especially when ragging it and anything above 18c which is about 4 months a year in London- so thats a third of a year. But then of course the clutch will wear fairly quickly so will have to go to sachs or somewhere for an upgrade, and don't think the engine mounts will last too long either lol, could be expensive, but I'm very tempted.
  11. damn, I know I have read that somewhere on mk4 forum, think it's 115,130 % 150's got the red d and I as they have the pump deuse unit injectors.
  12. woo hoo! so 1/4 mile times? lol, 11s? brilliant.
  13. wow, thats going to be one awesome muma! What turbo do you have? looks like a good one.
  14. sorry, just meant it as a saying, not literally. I think If I had that car at 19 I probably would of crashed it like the car I did have at 19! lol
  15. good luck then, I almost got a nice 200 before the C, I'm not a massive VW fan but I do really like the C obviously and MK1/2 gti's, oh and the MK5 gti looks like a nice car aswell.
  16. yea, thought I'd seen you on cupra.net! so you are getting the PD160!? You lucky old so and so!
  17. wow, very nice car. One of my favourite old school hot htatches that, I almost bought one, they certainly seem to be holding there value well. So do you want to get a C then?
  18. nah it's fine I think, helps with a bit of banter now and again. So what exactly have you got and what mods? is it a 1990's Civic with an uprated engine? or an ITR? must be very nice if your doing 1/4 mile in 14.1
  19. gotta get a drive in that new M5 when it comes out-so sweeet!
  20. Don't think you'd be eating an IHI turbo car for breakfast tho, she canny take the poower captin! LOL
  21. god thats a tough one. I think the Alfa looks the best and if it was not my money would get that despite not being the most driveable, it has by far the best engine. But if I were to tune it maybe a Leon 225, of course I love the R32 aswell. I'm also in the minority of liking the CTR which I drove for quite a few miles.
  22. yep, been in an A8 and cant agree more. But a friend has an old auto 5 series and boy does that thing like a drink.
