that city rover is so bad, especially in this day and age. I think it may well become the fastest depreciating car on the road today! lol. The Honda car plant in Swindon is also seeing record numbers built and expansion plans so yes, something doesn't add up. I think it's the top/fat cats who have messed up the co.

yep, had one try and cut me up the other day! I'm usually very laid back but he got a barrage of abuse. They seem to think that if they do it very quickly, it will be ok, or somehow safer. Try coming into london from the a40 from the m25 at rush hour and everyones at it. Risking your life to get home 1 minute quicker! lol.

140, wow, I wouldn't dream on going that fast in my VR, I mean it's quick, but lets not kid ourselves, it's not supercar quick. I have seen a lot of these motorway maintenance vehicles lately and they have terrible road manners ie not indicating. I guess they think they have a right no to. And is it me or have Mercedes drivers just overtaken BMW ones as being the w*****s of the road?

I think if you'r buying a new car for 27k there's not a lot out there that is better. Of course used cars will be better vfm, but I would rather a new 350 than a new standard boxster. A guy overtook me in one last week and he was giving it some, but the noise was pretty special, I'll give it that.
-
yea, I think an exhaust and air filter has to be done first and of course it will make a VR sound like more of beast!
-
get out there and test it. If you have driven a mk2 golf gti 16v then you will have an idea of how it will accelerate although the Corrado being a bit heavier may be a bit slower and I'm not sure if the ratios are the same but plenty of people here will know. I would say, get it, keep it standard and then use the money you save not modding and get a G60/VR in 1 year?

On Average how many miles you doing a year in your C
samm_cvr6 replied to Dub Style's topic in General Car Chat
I do about 35k per year, but only about 10k on the C. -
that is assuming that the CTR is not modified, but you have to go to the pod or a track to settle the score. All I know is that a well driven CTR will keep with my VR on most roads.
-
good, sounds tempting, with either a blue flame/magnex she is going to sound like a mean mother, and will free up some extra ponies, lol
-
looks nice, how much if you don't mind me asking?
-
you will probably beat him up to 100 and then the CTR will have the legs over you once he hits v tec in 4th.
-
yea- always did and now more than ever, look better than the old nissan 200, calibra, probe and 325.
-
I would say more along the lines of a mk1 gti, for me the mustang is near the top of the premiership and the corrado has just about qualified for the champions league lol. But the corrado has a bit more x factor over the mk1 gti IMO.
-
yea i pay 800 with adrian flux, I'm 24, but only 2 years NCD so not bad.
-
pah, not meaning to boast but I have overtaken a copper on the motorway in a CTR doing 90+! lol, it most certainly is luck of the draw and if your car is 100% standard you should be ok. I have spoken to coppers before and they also say if you are not driving erratically and have both hands clearly on the steering wheel etc you are much less likely to get stopped.

Sniff..............Just got blitzed by a ........Clio

I'm still not sure if my VR would beat a remapped 150PD in 1st and 2nd, but boy will I miss that lazy long gearing which is exactly why diesels will never fully replace petrols. Ultimatley I may get a 330D since it will be remapped, then it will be extremley quick & work out cheaper than running a run around and a performance car. -
the W8 has to be the next big project, like was said, where there is a will, much more difficult enginnering has been accomplished. Can you imagine the noise of that baby!? So they are 2 horizontal 4 cylinders? why are they in a V shape if they are two rows of four? Wuold be pretty pointless if it was still FWD tho. But what I'd really like to see is a 4WD V10 TDI now that would be a beast.

wow, thats a long sentence! Hey, I managed to breeze an English A level but I'm not too good myself. I haven't even been stopped in my C yet but in my old 205 it was like every month. Had a copper on foot chase me when I was on a push bike once which was hysterical! lol.

ahh, the tractor boys ay, that always hits a nerve with them lol! The PD's are not the most refined, quitest or smoothest diesels out there but they are probably the torquiest, all be it in a very unlinear fashion which is why the BMW dervs are more driveable. It is only a matter of time before I succumb to the dark side, I may trade in the VR for an Ibiza 130 and get that baby up to about 350pounds of torque. 8) :D -
Buying a Focus tonight.... Advice?
samm_cvr6 replied to Louie Lungbubble's topic in General Car Chat
no denying the focus is a better drive than the MK4 golf which I never really liked. But is an RS better than a Leon 225? I don't thinkso, better handling, but not all round. Ford are also using PSA group diesels aswell. Question is, will the new Focus ST be better than a MK5 golf? time will tell. I still prefer the PD's for that wallop of torque you get although I think it has to be said the new BMW 320d and Honda diesels have moved the game on a bit. -
the Skoda/Seat guys having been raving about blue flame exhausts lately, can't really comment but word on the street is they are top notch quality, sound, performance results and VFM. I have emailed them about the C but will have to call them as no reply as yet.
-
hey, lovely VW's. Of course the C looks the best but those MK2's are lovely, so much nicer than the MK3/4's. Next a MK5 ay!?

samm_cvr6 replied to biggerbigben's topic in Members Gallery
nice one, I might have to get the 115tdi as a work run around, but did you compare it to the Focus 115TDCI? -

I think starperformance have made an uprated clutch, you will probably need it if you get it Revo'd/Jabba etc, apparently it is better than the sachs one but I haven't tested both, the reason being is that it comes with it's own flywheel.
