glad to hear you sorted it. I used to live in Brighton for 3 years and it may seem like a nice place but it is full of pikeys and thieveing tramps. I just changed over two HT leads to the dizzy cap- it won't start and they will never work it out!

the front looks a bit like a maserati and the rest an aston, looking forward to the road test.

LOL! I'm getting horrible visions! I do speed a bit but only when safe, as soon as it becomes a built up area with pavements and curbs and schools etc, the speed comes right down. I've "only" had mine up to 130, guess I bottled it a bit, too many cars, I need a real clear stretch to do 145. Yea I remember that guy was in the news for doing 155 in his M3, if only they knew all the people that go that quick.

I used to work for a Mini mechanics and boy did I have some fun with the older ones, especially the tuned ones! I hate to admit it to myself for all the above mentioned reasons but I do like the MCS, although it's a bit cheeky calling it a Mini when it weighs around 1200kgs! more like a Maxi! I seem to remember that on the tuners test the BBR conversion faired very well, particularly the in gear times. But I would get a Leon 225 over the MCS.

my thoughts too. I find myself hogging the fast lane to avoid these idiots and now I'm paranoid everyone is like this so I just end up cruising at 100 and just move over if anyone wants to go any faster

any selfish cnuts. You know the ones where there is traffic- you let one out and go except every fcuker keeps going!

1)Big exec cars with really bright lights driving6 inches from your bumper 2)People not saying thanks after letting them out 3)people pulling out infront of you when you are doing 60mph

Dubsport have created an almost 500hp 4x4 Rado VR!!!!!

So do the yanks have the fastest C? And is it possible to fit a V8 in a Corrado? I thought FI was the only way of massive power in a C. -
very funny! seem to have opened a can of worms with this one, everyone has experienced this to some degree. Well I live in Orpington which is home to Fast Car magazine and chav central, you would have to go to Southend to find more of the fcukers! Why does the C seem to attract these morons? Most of my encounters are with the stereotypical Novas etc and it was worse when I had my 205! I work on site so have always got some nice hammers, chisels and stanley blades kicking about  but can't say any of these losers have ever given me verbal abuse. I wouldn't mind so much if they drove a bit safer, then I might have a play and they can enjoy there humble pie. Stick em all on a remote island and blow them up!

bought mine from a lady owner too  . At that price I would of bit her hand off for the car, in good nick with the seats it should be worth closer to 4k

not mature like "vera"? Yea I saw the C aswell, didnt mention at the time as the gf would only have a sarcastic comment to say about it. oooooooooh Patsy!

IN GEAR TIMES ACTUALLY ANY QUICKER ON A DIESEL????
samm_cvr6 replied to samm_cvr6's topic in General Car Chat
i've heard very good reviews of the DSG box on the 2.0 TDI, the fact that it weighs almost 1.5 tonnes is not helping matters tho  -
Ok guys I have won the Silverstone- The Grand Prox of Driving Experiences. I entered a competition a couple of months ago, think it was in the daily star! Anyway, this is the first time I have ever won anything good! Now I would like you'r advice/suggestions as to what to drive? I know we are all different but your thoughts would be appreciated, these are the cars I can choose from. 1)Rally (presumably an Impreza- what spec it is will have a bearing on wether I choose it) 2)Single seater (F1 style I hope maybe the most rapid) 3)Caterham (I've heard how quick they are but not sure if I would ever want one) 4)Lotus Elise, ever since i first saw this car I wanted one and that was before Ii found out how good they are, I have a big soft spot for this car. 8) :) :D

IN GEAR TIMES ACTUALLY ANY QUICKER ON A DIESEL????
samm_cvr6 replied to samm_cvr6's topic in General Car Chat

Just reading thru Autocar and looking at car of the year specs. I know they are not as quick generally speaking but had heard about cracking in gear acceleration that is better than petrol hot hatches although on a much narrower power band. Mondeo ST TDCI- 30-70=8.3 30-50 in 4th=4.9 50-70 in top=9.5 Clio Cup- 30-70= 5.8 30-50 in 4th= 5.5 50-70 in top=8.0 So the Clio is much quicker than the Mondeo 30-70 and the Mondeo is slightly quicker 30-50? I assume this is due to the extra gear changes required in the diesel? And 50-70 in top the Clio is also a fair bit quicker. Am I missing something here or are these Diesels acceleration often exaggerated as it feels very quick for about 1.5 seconds but then you have to change gear and the petrols often deceptive (ie Corrado VR6) as they have a less peaky power delivery and hold the acceleration for a much wider power band- allowing less gear changes and hence quicker progress.

hey, atleast you guys have the intelligence to compare cars that are similar in performance- this guy is delusional! http://www.reviewcentre.com/review24143.html    -
pah, you wana try my fiat Uno 1.0, I christened it the green house due to it's huge glass panels and aero dynamic shape- gets very hot in summer! I think it weighs around 725kgs, soft suspension, skinny tyres etc so you can imagine it's all over the place at speed and in wind!

Chipping a normal motor will make no difference...
samm_cvr6 replied to G100extreme's topic in Engine Bay
do AMD charge a standard rate for chipping all cars? I know superchips charge more for chipping turbos. Just wondering as if they do charge a standard rate then it would make it much more cost effective to chip a VR rather than a valver. I would probably make a chip my 3rd mod if I was going down that route after air filter and exhaust, makes more sense IMO. Turbos also seem to benefit more from air filters and exhausts. I've heard crazy figures like 40bhp increase with a full exhaust system on a Scoobie. -
hey Leavon just noticed you'r C in those pictures is looking lovely, porsche alloys? and whats the story with that gear box? good to hear you are persevering with keeping it, will definitley be worth it in the long run.
-
careful on country roads aswell, I just had a bit of understeer and was only going 30! was over some mud tho.
-
A good place to take you'r C if in SE London.
samm_cvr6 replied to samm_cvr6's topic in General Car Chat
was disappointed to hear that only 2 people turnt up for the meet at the grasshopper  , still I didn't go either as I was hung over, will try and get to the next one if it's still there. What colour is your C? -
