I just can't seem to get my steering wheel dead level anymore. Recently I had ain inner CV boot replaced and since then the steering wheel was positioned to the left. Then I had the car tracked and the guy said it wasn't far off and moved the wheel. I then had it tracked by Elite in Essex but it made little difference (they did tell me that my caster was a little out) so I moved my steering wheel to the right. Now it is a bit far to the right....Any ideas - or am I just too much of a perfectionist? :roll:

the wiper blades do seem to have a seriously short lifespan. Mine get little use but really need changing after 6 months

The reason I mention the leaking downpipe is that the leak is before the lambda sensor and therefore the lambda probe is relaying an incorrect fuel mixture leading to an overrich mixture, hence the unburnt fuel. I am going by what my stealer told me on this one.

Mine is doing it at the moment but I think that is because my downpipe is leaking

excellent - did it need taping or was it okay?

yeah take out the ashtray and you will find that the lighter clips into a little lip of plastic that may be a bit worn. Just put some black tape on it to secure it. Once the ashtray is back in, you will never see the tape and it wont move!

didnt realise that you shouldn't use WD!! I have always done it :( Will get some of the white grease - can it be bought from Halfords? Also - is it good for the sunroof runners/lifters?

whilst tinkering on Majik's G60 earlier, I noticed that he had brake ducts (air cooling vents) in his wheel arches and I don't on mine! Do the Vr6's not have them or was I just left out by the Karmann boys?

I have the same thing and have traced it to a leak in the downpipe on the exhaust. particularly noticeable on hot days! Could be that or look for moist fuel pipes.

Maj! Told you that GPC did the spoilers for £30!! Is that a misprint or what!? Pleasure helping out on such a gem of a car, if only we got the suspension done! :)/:(

Sorry! I am being a complete nipple - yes - it has a 13mm head but is an 8mm thread!

we did it with a 13mm bolt was 8mm a typo or are there different pulleys around? will contact PhatVR6 now, thanks dr_mat!

Where can you get the replacement bearing from, then? VW said you can only get the whole assembly which is pricey. I have actually changed the whole thing but still have my old tensioner but it has a worn bearing. Is the tensioner worth hanging on to?

Yep! Definitely mate - have no worries - after they did mine you would have NEVER known there was a dent. What's more, they didnt even need to remove the door card to do it! I know that Dent Devils and Dentmaster told me they couldnt do dents on creases..... God knows why!

I used Axi-dent call: 07816666046- who I think came to inters last year but the do all the work for my local VW garage and he charged me £100 for the whole car and I had a annoying sharp dent on the roof which is now supersmooth and also about 3 on each door on the crease line! Super job!!
