    Basically, if all you have to do is turn it off when you want the full power, then what is the problem? Had a long drive in today's sun and that VR6 meant very little in all that heat. Shame as the car is geared up for the winter (heated everything) etc but bad for comfort in the summer. Well, if anyone has retrofitted and can recommend an installer - let us know :) Cheers for your help on this everyone!

    Yeah - point taken Kev, it does seem a hassle given the lack of time we have hot weather in England!! Dash rattles really upset me - I have none in the C and would be really irritated to develop them, especially behind the dash!

    Yeah - must admit - the girlfriend has been the one who has moaned and I have had the car longer than her ;) Interesting to see that there IS a power loss. hmmm

    Is the addition of aircon particularly detrimental to the performance on the VR? I was of opinion that due to the size of the engine, the loss of power would be unnoticeable. Am I right? Also - as all systems are aftermarket, who would I go to to get installed and how many £££'s would I expect to spend. Was thinking £600-£1k? I must get it done soon as black paint and leather is a killer in this heat!! :(

    yeah - I would have thought that not having the Solitudes on the car would have made her less valuable. That is, unless they have the old wheels too... That is far too pricey!!!

    Going to tow a mates car from Hemel HEmpstead to NE London tonight. What are the laws? Max speeds? Which roads cant you use? I.E. Are motorways allowed? Thanks! Nick

    nope - not flush - about 5mm but we (and the rac) have tried but it wont budge. How do I go about drilling and not damaging the thread? Never done it before. Are there special tools? Sorry for sounding like an idiot! :oops:

    tried to remove a coolant flange from a 1.6 Golf 2 driver yesterday and the bolt snapped off! Have tried WD40 and molegrips and heating it and it will not budge. How do we get this thing out??? Ideas? :mad: Cheers :)

    yes Magnex was quieter - very much like the OEM one at Idle but sounded fantastic when floored. Not boomy at all! :D I had always been told that Magnex were the best or supersprint - but - the Magnex has the Oval design whereas the Supersprint is round I believe! After witnessing both the Magnex and Milltek, I was a fair bit happier with the Magnex.

    I thought the Milltek sounded great but too loud for me, not as discrete as the Magnex but the fit was absolutely perfect. yes - what is the warranty on Milltek - great price!

    can you basically not reuse the old ones? is it the case that if you bend it, you ruin it?

    actually - I am being a plum! It is indeed separate scraper!! I need the scraper and the top and sides bits. Pain to fit?
