Hmmm. What should I have A4tdi or new Golf GTI?
K-rado replied to K-rado's topic in General Car Chat
jeeez, Where did that week go? Turns out that the New golf Gti is not suitable for my job! and therefore not on the list.........Selected a BMW 320CD Conv instead. :D 2 reasons, I want to see what the hype is all abt and secondly toshow the world that at there is considerate bmw driver out there. tough life ah? Dare to think that there will be another low-miler Storm to the market  -
2 Today in Ealing. One was White on Ealing Broadway at about 11.30 heading towards Whitehall and the other was a Very Red Greg Valver 8) Parked up just off the broadway at around 1.30 Any Takers?

Top Site Mike VR6 and the corrado one is the CCGB jobbie all right (minus the disk) and boy is it cold! cheap cheap prices too!

UK Deffo has not got these in stock. anywhere. Their system is only geared up for the uk market where davebirl is obviously in contact with a dealer outside the uk, namely Ireland, where they can hook-up to the German parts bin. Now with that in mind, all the things we took for granted as not available anymore for our corrado is probably sitting in a big pile at the back of some wear house in Germany all because of VWUK. Hmmm, can see a nice little earner here. :D Who’s up for a job-lot "parts cruze" to Germany then?

That was funny...  3 Mystic Blue owners are more ugly than Classic Green owners? (outside shot i know ) Maybe not so much an outside shot afterall  Fraudulent slip of the toung? maybe, maybe not
-
Sure they are all the same and just twist off. As you are looking at the knob, turn anticlockwise. May be a little stiff. You may need to put a monkey wrench on the shaft as not to damage the union with the gear selectorOh, I take it that it is a manual and not an auto? :)

Sorry Blue, wasnt trying to get yer back up, Should have put a few smilies in there woops

What are you getting at Jim? I think I know but maybe it could be like this; 1 Mystic Blue owners are more reserved than Classic Green owners? 2 Mystic Blue owners are more likely to hold onto their cars? 3 Mystic Blue owners are more ugly than Classic Green owners? (outside shot i know  ) 4 Mystic Blue owners cant afford a computer? 5 Mystic Blue Corrado's are fewer cos the reps/company car drivers drove them into the ground? 6 All the valvers "acquired" the black storm interior and badges? The list is endless. My money is on 5 and 2 respectfully. I would have preferred a Blue Storm but am very happy with my Classic. Could not find a sub 50k Storm for love nor money. I remember the years after 95 when there were loads of very high milers Mystic Blue Storms for sale at silly money. Could I find a decent one? No they were rep mobiles. Classic green Storms seemed to be a more private purchase and better looked after. I ended up buying the last of the Mk3 Vr6’s new all because I could not bring myself to pay £15k for a 80k+ miler Corrado. Golf Vr6? What a mistake that was! Just my tupence!

Unlikely Steve, seen as they appear to have disappeared of the face of the planet. now dont take this the wrong way, but you can have a shufty at my "knob" next sunday week at the MK Meet. oh which reminds me........................
-
Just like mine but a lot- lot cleaner. What kinda milage. mine has justed past 53K. I see you were a little heavey on the polish to the number plates  and unless i am greatly mistaken, you have protectors on the lights? Where atouts in thames valley are u? going to come to the MK Meet? kieran.

I have filled up with shell optimax and if I am been honest, it is no way near as good as the BP Ultimate. Fuel econ has slipped away. There is not as much grunt/go. I think it is better over the standard un-leaded but the extra 6p/liter does not addup. Will deffo be going back to the BP stuff. Shell seems to be to unstable, must have got the dregs of the barrel where as BP Ultimate is 97/8? RON and seems to be more consistent. My2p

Keep it simple just like the one they have. Very effective, less is more sorta thing. My2p

[quote name= Insted of the car do you get the chance to have the cash equivilant as well? quote] I have worked out the cash and is not great. By the time you have insured your car, Serviced it 2 or 3 times a year, depreciation interest repayments, etc etc, You really are at a loss. In 3 years I would expect that my new car would have circa 80-90K on the clock and not worth a lot. Decided to go for the company car, the Storm is taking a little pounding at the moment. So tomorrow, I will see whats the deal with the New Golf. Wish me luck. -
Anybody any ideas of a design?
-
For my company car I can choose what I like. Anything from a celica to a bmw or a saab to a skoda. I was going to go for an Audi 115 tdi estate. Loads of MPG and room for anything I like. Taxation is one of the lowest you can find next to the 320d 6speed touring. Then I seen something up here re the new Mk5 Gti. Seen one in the stealers a few weeks back with leather and I remember thinking how far it has come over my last new Vw, a Mk3 VR6. so what would you have. I am not sure how much it would cost me over the year tax wise but i am sure it must be fairly efficient?

I only ask because i understand that if you drop the suspension you need to have the camber/tracking reset. I also understand that this is a vw jobbie or specialist kwick-sh*t dealers can do it for circa £100. I know a place that will reset my camber for £50+vat. Kieran

Jamest, speeding is not clever, especially on public roads unless there is a dam good reason for it. (scooby springs to mind  ) I am not whiter than white but I do recognise that there is a time and a place. with me 30mph means 30mph. national speed limit is open to interpretation (although i wouldn’t like to put that case forward) The point of all of this is (IMO) reckless driving and speed = casualties. Watch out for chaves and enjoy your self where you can. Life is a risk, calculable in places but you must be prepared to accept the consequences of your actions. Safe driving and good luck!

Dont Know. I looks like £23 each posted but if we bulk buy and bulk posted we could try for around £18-£20 each for 10. If somebody is handy with the art pin, then maybe we could get a few ideas and take a vote on the best? If we use the CF then it will need to be OK'd with Andi :notworthy: He seems like a loveable kinda chap but is picke on punctuation and spelling  :blackeye:

You asked: "Love the Banner. Do you make them yourself? Could you make some up if I gave you the details? How much? How much if bulk buy of 10 to start with? How much postage to the UK? Thank You." Hi Yes we make them our self's, we can make banners with your details no problem, send me some info, if you buy bulk i will give you better price for sure, but it's also depends on the banner you want, postage to UK for 1 banner, USPS charges $18.00+ depending on the weight. Let me know what you would like to have exactly and i will price it for you. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 6504114596

Agreed Bill. I Found myself in very good company the other morning on the Finmere bypass. Just entred the round-a-bout as normal and this cooper s flashed me and tore off up the hill. as I was about to setoff in hot persuit I cought a glimsp of a T T in my rear view. Needless to say the cooper was shamed with ease as I overtook (ahem) at pace and eased over to let the TT by whilst still flexing her legs. TT stook with me all the way and I let him by. Turned out to be a new 3.2. Had fun all the way to Oxford where we exchanged frindly hand jestures at the lights. Cooper S in certain company might be interesting and wouldnt mind one myself. but for an out and out scooby eater, the VR6 is very hard to fault indeed  . Long Live C
