  1. WIth regard to the 121 there was one before that that looked like a bubble. It was truly horrid. How about this for a beautiful car:

    Wing Vents

They don't actually do anything apart from cool the inside of your wing? Make sure you've got a good coating of waxoyl inside your wing tot as rain will get in. Also, make sure any rain that does collect can drain away.
  3. Worst: Mazda 121? Suzuki Wagon R? Best: Everyday car: Pug 406 perhaps. Exotic: Most of the recent TVR's IMO.
  4. JMR (forum name 16VG60) did mine for £350 which included an oil & filter change and some extra porting (previous "stage 4" was done by Jabba).
  5. I'd use the search for this one as it often comes up and then you can read the Powerflex vs VAG bush discussion! :)
  6. I think they're Ronals too. There's a Mk 3 Golf I walk past every day to work with wheels that look identical with Ronal centre caps.
  7. Synta Silver is the VAG recommended oil for the G60 and at £3 per litre I'm not going to argue with that! :) There's a chap on the forum called oilman who represents Opie Oils and hence knows loads: http://www.opieoils.co.uk/ You may also wish to use the search as this one's come up loads or pm oilman for advice.
  8. My car's got a non VAG front wing and the inner surface was completely untreated when I got the car. I got a tin of Waxoyl from Halfords and brushed it on (careful to use one of dad's old brushes ). It's really gunky but it's just what you need to keep the moisture out.
  9. Harmonics, "tuning" and other complicated things which I don't understand!
  10. Dunno about valvers  :)
  11. The tube that sticks out the front of the airbox.
  12. Yeah, if you guess and then look at your car outside of the profile edit screen it actually tells you what it's called. Then you invariably have to go back in, edit and then see if you've got it right again. It's a nightmare with the blues as there's so many of them!
  13. Mine snorkel was long gone when I bought the car so I've never had it on. Probably just as well!
  14. Hi Craig! The reason they put that rubbish snorkel on the front of the airbox was another attempt to dull the noise of the G-Lader. Take that off and you get a slightly more aggressive induction note and it'll breathe slightly better.
  15. JMC, those subs look ace. You could even cover the speakers with something to fend off prying eyes. Your sig also caught my eye, I've also also got Alpine, Genesis and Diamond kit!
  16. John at JMR did mine for me whilst the car was down there for some work and the results were amazing. The whole engine bay has also been treated with some Wurth stuff that cures with the heat of the engine. It looks amazing.
  17. Here too: http://www.sky.com/skynews/xml/article/ ... 01,00.html £23K for a Golf. You can get so much car for that money, Evo VIII, 22b Impreza, you can even get a TVR Tuscan for £20K, Merc SLK, Honda S2000, Porsche 968 the list goes on! It's nice but it's not where my money would go.
  18. Also budget in for things that usually need replacing on Corrado's like rear suspension bushes, rear brake calipers etc. Corrado's are difficult to run on a tight budget, especially if you like using original VAG parts! :) Find a sound enthusiast-owned one though and you'll be laughing.
  19. An oil cooler will only make the engine run cooler which is no bad thing for a G60 as they always run a bit hot. An oil cooler is the best thing before any "performance" upgrades. Make sure you get one with a thermostatic sandwich plate though or the car will take ages to warm up ;) A ported charger, 68mm pulley and a chip (SNS stage 5 for instance) will improve driveability if anything. You'll get a bit more power (10-20 bhp) and no lag if you go for the SNS chip. It's not like tuning an na car where you often shift the power up the revrange, mildly tuning a G60 will make is faster, more driveable and will also increase torque. No worries there. I'm sure Darren would say a similar thing. The only thing to consider is whether the car is in good health to begin with. Better to start tuning a healthy engine than one that is already struggling. Make sure all the sensors that feedback to the ecu are working OK as well eg lambda probe, temp sensors, knock sensor.
  20. How's that beastie going to be plumbed in? Also, won't you get a larger than usual pressure drop with that monster?

    De-Cat

You need a cat from 92 onwards. :)
  22. Hope rear bushes are on there too, they are a real Corrado weakpoint and affect how the car handles to a large extent. :)
  23. Reminds me of John Wintle's mint Mk2 GTi.
