Wow, glad it's all OK. My trip home from there much less eventful thankfully.

Next day, maybe 2. Can't remember price, about £30 ish.

Dunno 'bout life of pads, depends on how you drive but you can get Pagids from GSF and I always get a discount, just say you're a member of a forum, the guys are always really helpful. :)

I had to pull over and stop for 20 mins. I was using the kak "Turbo groove" discs as well. They stunk of burning and my alloy wheels were too hot to touch. The discs also warped and had to be machined. Oh, and I was following a slow car down a hill at about 30mph for about 1/2 a mile. :x :2gunfire:

As dinkus said, the Pagid’s are quite dusty. EBC did change the compound of the Greens and gave a few sets to some guys on the forum I used to be on. Their verdict was pretty much the same as the old ones, not much initital bite, not that great once warmed up. I’d rather have dusty wheels with decent brakes than clean wheels and rubbish stoppers. Brake dust is a pain, especially on hard to clean BBS’s but it’s not that bad. Soap ‘em up and jetwash. Easy :)

I've used Greenstuff and they were very bad. They didn't work from cold and then overheated. This was on a Polo as well with 60 hp! Either stick with VAG or I've been pleased with my Pagid Fast Road pads.

Mine's like bcstudent's too. A good way of getting some air to circulate at speed is to have the sunroof tilted and the fan on 2 into the footwells. This way air is sucked out of the car via the roof and coolish air is drawn over the driver from the footwell. It's not great but it's better than having the windows open at 80mph and not being able to hear anything!! It also works in the rain without you getting wet

Ford F150 Lightnings use Eaton's as well. They're hooooj!

Sent the cheque of today for mine ;)

You can mount an oil cooler behind an intercooler and not lose much at all in the way of cooling efficiency. It's only an IC that has to be at the front. I suppose space may be a consideration. Audi RS2 IC's fit well behind a stock bumper but they're about £400.

Awesome pics. Loving the steelies on biggrim's car as well.

mmmm external wastegate :thumbleft:

Looks lovely, but you couldn't actually drive it anywhere with it that low and the wheels spaced out like that? Given the fact it's a car it seems a bit silly.
-
Sorry mate, I obviously didn't put 2 and 2 together!!!! Doh. (Still harassing Camberley Auto Factors about the shocks by thw way )

I've got that banana-smelling Zymol and it is really good. I've also got some of that Swissol Onyx (£40 a pop) and I know I'll get slated for saying it but the Zymol is easier to work with and produces a great finish.

I got some high temp spray from Halfords for my rocker cover in a kind of moon grey type colour and is been fine for months now. I put about 8 thin coats on waiting a few mins between each coat. It came up a treat. Might want something a bit hardier on a block though an it's likely to get oily and stone chipped

You should probably be prepared to spend a bit on "maintenance" type activity as the 'Rados are getting on a bit now. The car I picked up was a very tidy G60 but it still needed things like brake compensator valves, new rear calipers, rear suspension bushes, front bushes etc. Things that you can't see! They aren't that cheap to run which is something I learned v quickly after buying mine! It certainly shouldn't put you off though :)

Surrey Rolling Road near Farnborough Hants: http://www.surreyrollingroad.co.uk/ We had a forum day there on 28th May, top chaps!

You realise you just used the "F" word?

Temp wise, definately get an oil cooler. JMR (aka 16VG60) do them for about £150 which might include fitting. Fittings not difficult in any case. He's based in West Sussex. G60's run hot anyway and should have really come with an oil cooler from the factory but I suppose the bean counters got their way. Get it done and it'll pave the way for any mods you have planned. It was the first thing I had fitted to mine. 124 degrees is v hot!

For the purpose of this thread; yes! :)

Vioce in head: "Is he having me on or talking sense?"

You might want to try http://www.confused.com although all RBS insurers (Priv, Churchill, DL) have opted out. They are an online aggregator. Probably better for std cars though

That's more pertinant when you remove the carbon canister and associated pipework though isn't it?
