Mine was slipping and JMR just put a VAG one back on and it's as right as rain now.
-
Awesome, pushing the boundaries.... I wonder if he struggles with traction?
-
I presume you mean the inlet and outlet being on the same side? If so I wondered that too

That's the one that Jabbasport sell I think, they had a stall right next to Jabba at Inters this year. It did look rather nice and came with all necessary hard piping and silicone hoses. Don't know about the quality and design of the core though.

8mm will be fine. I'm sure the 0.5mm doesn't make any difference at all unless you've got upgraded ignition. The 8.5mm's and 8mm's are identical bar the extra 0.5mm extra insulation.

Nology Hotwires are the very best, they've got seperate earth's for each wire but you can't get them in the UK very easily. I settled for some Magnecor KV85's which were about £60 delivered from here and they're a definite improvement over the rubbish no-name silicone leads I had before: http://www.motorsportworld.co.uk/topnav.htm

I'm glad the coilies and complete suspension rebuild weren't in vain! :)
-
Perhaps it's testament to the set up I have that I don't spin the wheels in third then?
-
I can break traction in 3rd in the wet, esp when I change gear aggressively. It's not an entirely pleasant car to drive in the wet to be honest, there's a lot of torque on offer and the front wheels get overwhelmed quite easily. I'd like to get the car to spin in third in the dry though!
-
Oh it's all coming out now! I was thinking that spinning in 3rd in the dry probably requires rather a lot of power, even for FWD. :)
-
Spinning in 3rd eh? Is that in the dry?

Hands up who owns a Black or Blue G60 with black interior?
Neil VR6 replied to juloesG60's topic in General Car Chat
Inka blue with black interior, that's me. Although the black's got bits of green in it. Do I win a prize? -
Replace those and see how you go. My cold starting was getting worse before I got some shiny new Magnecor KV85 leads, right as rain now! :)

When I RR'd mine at Surrey Rolling Road they hooked up a boost feed by popping off my boost gauge line and that was very telling of belt slippage! The boost climbed nice and linear, then plateaued and as the belt gripped again; shot back up. A new belt sorted it no probs. It makes a noticable difference on the road as it pulls cleanly from nothing to the redline now. The flat spot could be mixture related as my a/f plot was all over the place. When the lambda probe was popped out it was completely fubar'd and even the wiring was shot. Since that has all been replaced it felt loads better, best thing I've ever had done to the car! Great power figs though, that's about as high as it'll go without other significant work. :)

I just phoned up the stealers and a very helpful chap has faxed through the diagrams :)

I've seen some people post up EKTA diagrams before. Would stevemac have access to it perhaps?
-
Does anybody here have access to EKTA? IF so could they please post up or email (pm me for address) the diagrams for the following part numbers: 191 512 340 191 512 339 I'd be very grateful :) Thanks

Amazing stuff! It was a Norris Designs car on Top Gear that time that pulled a caravan at 120somthing mph! EvoVII I think
-
I saw some pics not long ago on the forum somewhere of someone who had I think installed two small Focal subs in a custom enclosure that fits where the centre armrest goes on the back seats. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Cheers :)

dodgy clunky noise at front end but its intermitent!!!
Neil VR6 replied to dsubiela's topic in Drivetrain
My clunking was a combination of inner CV joints and loose nuts on the top of the suspension turrets. Quiet as can be now :) ......£300 later :(
