  1. The filtration with PiperX is awful, stick with a decent cotton one like the K&N one you already have. The std airbox is probably better than an open kit anyway which sucks in hot air from the engine bay!
  2. Surely you can't refute that if you have engine work done you need a freer flowing exhaust to fully realise the gains to be had? A lot of the problems with aftermarket exhausts is that they are not fitted professionally.
  3. Matt CorradoVR6, where are you from in E Sussex?
  4. I have to say my Miltek (on a G60 with no extra silencers installed) is not excessively loud at all. In fact wind noise is more prominant at motorway speeds that the exhaust due to the shape of the car! You start to hear more exhaust at about 90 but nothing too bad. When cruising it's certainly not annoying but sounds nice when you push it. The fit is spot on and it doesn't bang at all on the chassis or suspension. Sound- wise, mine compaes favourably to a VAG system. I detest loud exhausts as I made the mistake of buying a Piper once for my old Polo and it drove me up the wall! You won't get many extra ponies with only an exhaust as unless you have replaced then, the down pipe and manifold still constrict exhaust gases. I would imagine an exhaust, down pipe and ported manifold all together would make a noticable difference on the road.
  5. Phil, did the car suffer at all?
  6. Try this UK site, it has all you need to know about the Nordschleif: http://www.nurburgring.org.uk/ Public track days are not released until end of Feb and will be on the above site but probably on the official Nurburgring site first. :)
  7. Take him out in the G60 and then see what he says!

I'd replace the coolant hoses as a precaution as if the car overheats due to coolant loss you're looking at a new head gasket which is ££££. One of mine went the other day, luckily enough I was passing my local VW specialist at the time so there was no damage!
  9. Contact 16VG60 as he has had Miltek fabricate custom stainless ones. I think they're £220 but drop him a pm.
  10. Stick to the std airbox. VW are very good at designing induction and the stock airboxes on most VW's are very good. Spend your money on more worthwhile mods or get a panel filter (cotton, not foam)
  11. I'm getting quicker Henny!
  12. I use JMR (John Mitchell Racing) in Rustington West Sussex. Great service and years of expertise in G60's. He only uses VAG parts where poss and has a great attention to detail. Contact 16VG60 on 07974 020031 or pm me and I can chat to you about the work I've had done if you prefer. :)
  13. Std G60 BBS's with 195/50 Toyo Proxes T1s -40mm Koni adjustable dampers Poly bushes up front and std rear bushes at the rear
  14. Henny, you beat me :(
  15. Certainly on a force induced car there is less restriction in the exhaust so you can expel the gases quicker.
  16. You've be properly lumbered now! John might take it back?
  17. I think those wheels looks awesome! Where do you get them from ?
  18. I had this problem on my 112,000 mile G60. Then I had the cable linkage adjusted, a weight added to the shift arm that connects to the gearbox and the hydraulics pressure bled and the shift quality has improved tenfold. All this without touching the clutch!
  19. Why don't you contact John so he can sort it out for you and confirm what you have/haven't got?
  20. PiperX have crap filtration as well. You can't use them on G60's as they have the potential to let all sorts of nasties into the Lader.
