  1. Can someone explain the pros and cons with regard to different types of lowering options? I understand (or at least I think I do) that coilovers are probably the best option, but would be interested to hear about other options.
  2. Could well have been me then, my plate is J*** UOH if you caught sight of that.
  3. One might have been me, as was shopping in Soton on Saturday afternoon.
  4. Replaced speed-sensor yesterday, and it was as simple as it sounded! Took no time at all, apart from waiting for the rain/hail/snow/wind/thunder to subside! Touch-wood, it seems to be ok now, but will need to give it a few days as it didn't play up every day.
  5. Bit of a pain as don't really want to spend £76, and also don't really want to have to take the whole of the backrest apart. However you can feel the metal frame through my side backrest bolster now, so not sure what to do about it. Will probably end up just leaving it, but don't want the cloth to suffer due to it not being properly taut etc as the rest of the interior is pretty much unworn and unmarked.
  6. I checked at the dealers last night, and the backrest side foam bolsters don't come as a seperate piece, you have to buy the whole backrest foam which is about £76.
  7. Finally after months of spotting (well since October actually, as that was when I got my C), I've finally spotted someone from here!
  8. Spotted 'J' reg green pearl (I believe and possibly a G60 but not positive about that) on A27 between junction with M275 and A3(M) in Portsmouth area at about 8:15 - 8:20 this morning. You acknowledged me as I drove past and I waved back! Was this anyone on here?
  9. Thanks. So can I confirm it is just a sensor, and I've not got to run wiring anywhere? How long should it take me to change this sensor?
  10. How much wiring is there on a speed sensor? Will I have to trace the wire back to the actual speedo etc, or is it just a matter of unplugging the sensor where it is and plugging in a new one?
  11. Nice clean looking C yalan, is it black? There's a black C down the next road from me, but because it's not well cared for and looks tatty, it quite put me off the colour, but yours looks nice :D The estorils suit it well. I'll have to try modding a photo of my C and superimposing estorils on it to see how it looks.
  12. Wonder if anyone would swap my 5-spoke BK Racing alloys for some Estorils?
  13. Quite like the look of those Estorils. If I could find a set, how much do you think they are likely to be worth?
  14. Don't suppose you can purchase the tips seperately can you? And if so, how much one would cost?
  15. Does anyone have a picture showing the underneath of a Corrado? Preferably a 2.0 16v.
  16. Thanks. I wasn't too sure, as the actual tailpipe almost feels stuck on, as you can feel the back of it if you pop you hand underneath, almost as if it's a kind of trim stuck on top. Do you know what the tailpipe is made from? Is it stainless? I've got a bit of a dink on the very tip of mine and wondering about getting some pliers or hammer on it to try and straighten it back out.
  17. What alloys did the 2.0 16v come with originally? Anyone got a pic?
  18. What does an original exhaust look like for a 2.0 16v? Is this one?
  19. Sounds like this is probably my problem. Though don't fancy fiddling with it all just now, especially if I have to pull down part of the head lining. Will just have to put up with cra**y radio reception for now and CD's until I can find time to do this.
  20. Don't suppose anyone has a photo showing where exactly I will find this sensor on a 2.0 16v?
  21. It really does sound very similar to the situation I had with mine. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the immob. when I took it into the main dealer. Luckily for me, if you fiddled long enough the immob. would de-activate. The dealer even advised me where to purchase a new one from! So I went along, and it was them that suggested that vw probably hadn't put it back together properly which they hadn't. Then after taking the steering column housing apart myself and fixing the problem I went back to the dealer to blame them and they were a bit red-faced and apologetic and gave me back 10% on the work I'd just had done with them. I don't user the main dealer anymore, as this wasn't the only issue that I encountered after having work done by them.
  22. I had similar problem with mine. There is an aftermarket immobiliser fitted to mine, and after my local VW dealer fitted a new steering column lock, the immobiliser didn't want to disarm. They told me I needed a new immobiliser but it turned out there was a sort of loop of wire for the immob. that should have been placed round the ignition barrel and taped to the inside of the plastic steering column housing so that it is as close to the plastic cover as possible, so that it gets the best reception from the keyfob, but this hadn't been re-taped to the housing, thus resulting in great difficulty getting reception for the immob. to disarm. Upon opening up the housing and re-taping the loop of wire, I've had no problems since.
  23. Speedo needle was jumping all over the place this morning on my way to work. Wonder what people behind me were thinking as my spoiler was up and down like a yo-yo! Just as the spoiler started to come up the speedo would die and down went the spoiler, and then back up and down and...it goes on! Think I'll have to invest in a new speed sensor and hope that cures the problem.
  24. Are coilovers all that's required? How much should I expect to pay? And what make/model do people recommend? And are they expensive to fit?
  25. Going from my own experiences, with my valver, since I bought her in October last year I've suffered with two/three different noises from the engine. The first being the cambelt tensioner. Did yours get changed when the belt was done? Then it was the water pump, sounded like a pigeon was trapped under the bonnet. And the final noise was due to broken cambelt covers!
