Thanks, but would they be able to sort out the distortion in the rear bumper?
-
...and also the panel above the rear bumper is quite badly marked with chips/scuffs etc - probably from shopping bags, so might see about having that re-sprayed too!

Just got my bonus from work and so it's time to look at getting my C's bodywork sorted out. The problems that need sorting are as follows: Shallow dents in bonnet where someone must have sat on it (no paint damage) Small dent in drivers side rear wheel arch Slight distortion to top of rear bumper where previous owner must have hit something Pimple-effect on top half of passenger door. I've not taken her for any quotes yet, but what sort of money do you think I'll be needing to pay to get that lot sorted out?

Afraid I can't help with sponsership, but good on you, and will be great to have a C taking part!

Spotted a white 'H' reg C behind me on M27 last night (heading Eastbound) at around just before 5pm. Think you pulled off at Junction 11.

I always make sure to grap the rubbery bit around the top of the window when getting out of the car to stop myself getting shocked.

Is this supposed to be secured with three bolts/screws? Mine is only attached with the front two, and subsequently it has now flopped down towards the fan and looks horrible. Where the fixings are, seem to be into the sort of radiator shield/rear cover and these have rusted a bit and distorted, which means that they can't hold the fittings straight anymore. If the third bolt/screw (towards the rear) is supposed to be used, what should it be secured to? Has anyone else suffered this problem?

kerrinmay - were you rolling into the top end of Portsmouth (off the M275) about 17:45 yesterday?? I was coming out of the city in a mate's car (too embarrassed to mention what) and saw a dark coloured C coming into the roundabout, but I was too far away to scope the colour properly? i'm down that way visiting friends fairly often, so i'll keep an eye out for you... i'm in a black VR N*BRJ No - not me!
-
I've done a search, but maybe not searching for the right words, but how do I get the door handle off so that I can get the barrel out? Do I have to take the door trim off to undo a bolt or something from inside?

Has anyone got a set of these AWE Tuning Sport Pedal Covers? http://www.vag-tuner.com/product.php?pr ... 551&page=1 They were featured in this months PVW and quite fancy a set, but wanted to know if any of you guys have already fitted some. And if you encountered any difficulties or problems etc.

Was actually really pleased with the ones that the BMW dealer made for my old car (which is now my partners), and they were even cheaper than the VW ones! The ones from GTGRAFIX may have cost a bit more, but were well worth it.

Recently got my personalised plate off my old car and onto my C and wanted some new plates made up. Decided that I really wanted dealer ones, so popped along to my local dealer 'Peter Cooper' in Portsmouth. Firstly I was disappointed that there wasn't a VW logo or any mention of VW on the plates - just said something like 'Peter Cooper Group', and secondly, the quality was dreadful! When they were printed, the chap got a black marker pen out to fill in the bits that I guess the printer had failed to print, and then there were loads of air-bubbles in the plates. Subsequently I took them back the next day and demanded a refund, which they happily gave me, as they seem used to me being an 'awkward' customer now! I then went home and ordered some plates from GTGRAFIX as recommended from here, and I'm well pleased with them. Plus I ordered them at about 10:30pm on Thursday night and they arrived (from Ireland) first thing Saturday morning.

I've seen a few C's recently on my way to from work on M27 J12 - J9 and back, but difficult to acknowledge as always on opposite carriageways and don't know if they've noticed me! Just in case anyone happens to spot me, I'm no longer J*** UOH, as got my personalised plate on now - C* KJM, and I've also got a black VW grill badge, removed my red 16v from grill and got a German number plate surround and clear side repeaters! Probably about as customised as my C will get for now.
-
Up to about 88k now. Still not bad for a 13 year old car. I've put 6k of those on myself since October when I bought the C.

Just got my personalised plate on my C on Saturday (using the plates from my old car for now until I get new ones made up), and am just trying to decide whether to buy a German number plate surround for the back one from JustMatz (won't bother with the front as it won't fit nicely - if at all). I definately won't be drilling the plates whatever I do, as the hole for the front one goes right through the Euro symbol, and will look much cleaner if I stick them. I already have the Halfords trim tape and so will be using that. What are peoples thoughts on the German number plate surrounds? Was going to go for the new style 'Jacobs' ones that JustMatz have.
-
Mine too! My C was registered around March '92 if I remember correctly, and has the later body but with the earlier interior, but being a 2l 16v it's also missing the rear centre armrest...so guess it's a bit of early interior with a hint of late interior thrown in because of that!
-
So just to confirm, VW don't make these? Also, I looked at the GPCVWAUDI site and only found the rear badge, not the one for the grill.
-
Sorry, I was talking about the VW grill badge and the VW badge for the rear panel. I was under the impression that you could get black ones instead of the chrome. I was wondering if these are genuine VW or made by someone else.
-
Are these a standard VW item that I can get from the dealer? If yes, how much and what are the part numbers (front and rear)?
-
How do they pop off? With the force of a screwdriver? Or just fingers?
-
Quick question, how do you get to the speakers in the dashboard? Do the grills just pop off, or is it an underneath job? Also what brand were factory original speakers? I've currently got JBL in the rear, and Sony in the doors.

Need Name of Place selling German Style Plates at inters???
kerrinmay replied to rado-steve's topic in Suppliers Forum
Encouraging to hear that you had no problems getting through an MOT with them on. I'd be quite tempted to go for them, but would rather have a GB on them rather than the D. At least that way they are more GB orientated. Cheers for the info on the British ones. I'll see if I can find some info on the company. -

Also, it it possible to get UK style plates but in pressed metal in the yellow and white? So like the German ones, but with the Euro GB symbol and in the UK legal font? -

Does anyone here actually have German Style plates on their car whilst it's on the road? Anyone ever been picked up for it? I know the font etc won't be right for the UK, but they'll still be very readable and the right colour etc.
