yes mate i just shop around,i get some nice stuff cheap recently got a brand new long shaft 1/2" drive snap on ratchet for £25 its a meaty bugger!! although some of the mac tools arent that hot, some of the halfords professional stuff is good for light general work.

paint if it needs it replace all the exterior plastics with new, rip the interior out and re sound proof every where replace every clip with new fix all those rattles with felt. nice stereo audiscape pods and sub enclosure. pic up a leather interior if you dont have one already! g werks charger rebuild, fmic, red top injectors, 1.9 conversion and a rolling road set up toothed belt kit. and water injection! bastuck exhaust nice private plate. and lastly one of those nice g60 keys! thats about five grands worth maybe a bit more and im about 2 thirds along that list car just gets better the more you do they really are a great project car!

nope as when you add grooves you increase surface area this causes greater heat loss, think fins on a heatsink!

do what you said spend 5k on the g60 then buy another daily driver, an a4 tdi quattro perfect for the dogs and a bit o fun too!

yeah it would be nice to just have that bit out of the way then on with the polishing! its a real dilema about how to tackle it all as im going to take the alternator off and possibly the charger in which case why not get it refurbed whislt its off? ho hum descisions descisions! think i will get a new alternator as mines a bit manky or is that just stupid as it works fine?! ill see if i can tidy it up. yuo they think im very sad all of my mates drive standard chavvy cars (new astras etc) or ride bike which i also do they think im very sad they laugh but i really dont care my car always smokes them its even faster than some of their bikes!! i take great pleasure in getting lifts in their cars and critisising them! also i always say i cant drive into town as my car is irreplaceable and theirs are ten a penny! who cares what they say its the passion of everyone on this forum that keeps me going and keeps me so damn keen!

im just thinking how much difference will it really make? i mean am i going to feel the difference? also not having a large intercooler is considered to be good to keep the pressure up. im sure a bottle full of methanol is going to keep me cooler than a fmic! i might be wrong but hey my cars a keeper i plan to mess around with it!!
