  1. I think your right, there was a few but definatley none in H as standard.
  2. Be careful with that one, 2.0 16v's never came out till K reg. Also, get insurance quotes for yourself first, 1.8 16v is group 15 but the 2.0 is a 17.

    E36 headlights

AFAICR HiD lights have to have H/Light washers as standard.......remember reading it somewhere but can't remember where :? They do, as well as auto headlight levelling.
  4. Very good seats but a bit extra lumbar support wouldnt go amiss. The cloth seats are also more comfortable than the leathers. :x
  5. Pretty sure it was £15k when it was on abay.
  6. As its only happening when the car is cold it could be something like a faulty temperature sender, though I know you just replaced these. :? Could still be a problem, I think you can swap the plugs over to see if it runs any better though im no g60 expert so not sure.
  7. Ive had a problem with my central locking as well that has been fixed tonight, ill just list everything and there may be something there that helps. Everything was fine till I asked someone at my work to get me something from the car, they tried to open the car with the key instead of the remote setting the alarm off. When I went back to the car, it would open ok with the central locking but when I tried to lock it nothing. I also noticed that if I turned the ignition off it was activating the remote closure of windows and sunroof. I would try locking the car from outside and the drivers lock would only lock the drivers door. At the passenger side I had a similar problem to yourself, everything would lock then unlock. I figured out that by turning the key to the right then quickly back to the left everything would stay locked unless the alarm was set first then they would still unlock themselves. After this I noticed my sunroof was no longer working at all, checked the fuses and all were fine. Now a few weeks later, I put the key back in the passenger lock and turned it and held it as if I was trying to manually operate the central locking and I listened to hear if the sunroof relay clicked, it did. :D When I turned the key back to the center I kept listening and the relay clicked back but then as the key got to the centre I heard it click again, turns out the lock is the problem as it was jamming on the remote closure to at least the sunroof, though strangely the windows were fine when the car was running. I fixed it by turning the key back slightly till I heard the relay unclick again and now everyhting is working perfect, remote locking and all. Like I said, dont know if any of this will help but at the very least it will let you know that the locks can cause problems.

    G60 vs VR6

haha. then you've gotten the wrong impression!  yes the 1st and 2nd ratios of the G60 are too short, so is the 5th.. but the VR box was also called one of the worst VW boxes ever... said to be too long. i thought someone just said that on this forum the other day, or maybe it was another forum.. Was me that said it. When I say diesel I dont mean it in a bad way, just that theres loads of low down torque but it tails off pretty quick meaning changing up the gears early. I did say decent turbo diesel, like a chipped Golf tdi or bmw 330d.

    G60 vs VR6

Ive never been in a g60 but the impression im getting from these posts is that its not too dissimilar to driving a decent turbo diesel.

    whats next?

I think you had the right idea today, get ure charger sorted first (G-werks rebuild, sns for fpr, chip and pulley) then work on the suspension. After that maybe brakes and wheels if you decide what ones you want. Get all that sorted then look for more power.
  11. TBH, if ure ignition switch is on the way out you would be as well just getting that sorted, a button would make the car easier to start but if the stereo is not coming on properly it wont help with that. Besides, a Richbrook push start kit is about £35 and the switch can be done for under £50.
  12. I think its a definate on the ignition switch, did it cut off any more after you left? The ignition switch wouldnt cause it to loose its memory though, just switch off and not come back on.

    G60 vs VR6

Lanny is a closet vr6 fan hence the speedline.
  14. Both the power wires from the stereo were connected to the switched live, I simply connected them up the right way.
  15. Dont know the exact bulbs but im gonnae keep the standard rating (60/55 or whatever it is) as I dont want any probs mot time. Or, if I say im going for higher rated bulbs will the loom still work with lower rated ones so I could just swap the bulbs back if I have any probs at mot?
  16. Cheers VR6, pm on the way to H100VW.
  17. What loom did u go for Tom? Any cutting of wires or removing of plugs involved? ps. Havent made it to vw about the wipers yet, will check it out tommorow.
  18. Do you have the Ford part no. or will they know what it is? Just found out today that the pipe on mine has completely split off the valve thingy. ***Found It*** [/quote:82736] Just picked the part up and fitted it, £20.06, car immediatly feels a lot smoother at idle and low revs. :D
  19. Heres a carbon fibre bonnet on Oichan's Corrado. 8) Not sure where it came from though.

    G60 Top Speed

Ive heard it mentioned in the past that the vr gear ratios are the worst vw have ever done, personally I think 1st and 2nd are spot on but the rest could do with being lowered a bit. 6 speed box from Stealth looks very tempting. 8)
  21. Im gonnae see if I can get a set on monday, will see what I can do.
  22. Got some footage of the night sorted now, theres not a lot to it at 3-4 minutes long and its 33megs until I find a decent way of compressing it. :? Anyone wants it catch me on msn and ill send it over.
  23. Does it mention anything about synching the alarm with the central locking?
  24. Also check out this thread http://corrado.atx-hosting.co.uk/viewto ... upercharge The vf-engineering kit comes in at about £2500 fitted. http://www.vf-engineering.com/vw_corrado.htm Gearbox upgrades not neccesary at this point afaik, though a clutch upgrade might not be a bad idea.
