Coming from someone who had never drove a lowered car worth mentioning before my vr6, I think the Eibach/Koni TA setup is great :D , not too firm and handles brilliantly. The Eibachs do give a heavy load in the boot look though.
  2. Basically what slick50 does is put a slippy coating over all the surfaces to make things move more smoothly. On some cars however, once there is a coating on certain oil tracts though, they end up to narrow restricting the flow of oil to the cylinderhead causing oil starvation problems. I dont know how any vw engines are for this but I know a lot of BMW E30 325i's have suffered a lot with this.

Erm, to add to the depression he had to get a new cylinder head. :(
  4. When I first got my C 16v I was surprised at how heavy the accelerator pedal was. I just lived with it and got used to it in no time. I then got my vr6 which needed a new cable and realised what a heavy pedal was, once it was changed I realised the 16v was perfect, its just the way they are. If your accelerator isnt sticking or anything I would say just leave it as you will get used to it.

To add to the bad news I have doubts about helicoils. I had a mate with a Nova that had the same thing happen and when he got it back he was told not to take it above 4000rpm, when he did it blew out again. This was a while ago and I cant remember the exact details but I thought it was worth mentioning.
  6. Have you got Quicktime installed Roddy and Daz?
  7. How much does a starter kit come in at with a clay bar or paint rubber kit, whatevers available.
  8. Nice one, :D is the air mass meter the same thing as the maf as in its the sensor thats on the top half of the airbox? How was the fitting incorrect? :?
  9. Welcome to the forum. Heres a thread that has some info on 16v's http://corrado.atx-hosting.co.uk/viewto ... ght=#22735
  10. Its not too bad a job to be honest, heres what I done. 1. Jack drivers side of car up. 2. Fuel filter is easily accessed, its just in front of the back wheel. 3. Try to loosen the bolts at either side, while holding the fuel filter solid. 4. Fail to hold the fuel filter solid snapping the rusty clips that hold it in place. 5. Use a bit more force and the bolts loosen with the fuel that was in the lines then running down your arm and all the way down your back. (Once the lines are empty, the fuel stops. It doesnt keep flowing.) 6. Fuel filter now falls off due to the above snapped clips. 7. Put new filter in place securely with cable ties. 8. Bolt pipes back up. 9. Try to start car but find that as soon as the ignition is on and the fuel system pressurizes that one of the hoses has torn and is pi**ing fuel everywhere. 10. Order new fuel line at a reasonable £23 and wait 2 days. 11. Reassemble and enjoy your Corrado. :?
  11. I had an xr2i slide into a field once when i was in my 16v and he had tried following. Couldnt help but laugh and he never hit anything so I just had to keep driving.
  12. Ive never tried either myself, but have heard good things. The trimsport one is polished and about £85. 8) Are strut caps just the shiny things that cover the top of the struts? Ok I suppose if your into having lots of shiny bits but im more into function over form. Just remembered, doesnt g60jet have front and rear strut braces? Maybe worth asking Nigel what he thinks of them.
  13. Its not my car, just a pic I had saved. I am looking to get a strut brace though. NS racing list one but the prices are in dollers so im waiting on an email back. Apparently theres a place in Croydon called Eurotek that does them for about £95, only mod that needs done is a bracket to move the coolant tank forward about 5". Im also gonnae get a rear brace from Trimsport. 8)
  14. Heres a pic of the Nuespeed strut brace to give you an idea of how tight a fit it is.
  15. Dont think ill be getting a bike for a good while yet, I would just like to get the license though as it seems better to do that and get something out of it rather than go to knockhill and do a driving course. (Which me and my cousin have wanted to do for a while, but we both decided to do this instead.)
  16. Halfords do them as well I think.

    HELP!!!!

Could still be the fuel filter, doesnt matter how much petrol is in the tank, it could already be clogged. Im no expert but its a simple thing to change so could be worth doing if no one else comes up with a better idea.
  18. Ive just gone and completely ignored what i said and got myself booked into a direct access course, woohoo. 8)
  19. See attached for how to change front pads. To change the disk as well I think its just a case of 1 retaining screw and it will come off. (With the caliper out the way obviously.) When the new disk goes on make sure the hub face and the disk are perfectly clean.

    Rattling windows

Dunno, I never got round to it as it was on my 16v and I sold it for a vr6.
  21. Maybe not, he mentions it only fits 7 pin throttle bodies. Im sure this is down to the obd2 injection system on later golfs. All Corrado vr6's use obd1 and the three pin throttle body I think so it wont fit. Im not too sure on this though so it may fit. :?
  22. What difference does it make to the handling just adding a rear bar?
