  1. i think i can step in here with some advice. I dare say i have the longest running project on this forum - the car came off the road back in 2004, and is now about a month away from completion, and through that time i have practically given up on numerous occasions. So with that in mind I reckon we should invent some guidelines for successful modding, the main one being small chunks. dont take on anything thats too big to get done in a matter of weeks, that way you get to drive the car and appreciate it for what it is. I took on way too much with my project and i have suffered for it. And I know its not over yet, cos i am kidding myself if i think this car is just going to rolll onto the road and not have any niggles after all i have done to it. so - one step at a time, keep the mods bitesize, remember to not lose the focus of corrado ownership by getting lost in a world of parts bins, scrap yards and oil, and stay happy you miserable bastards lol ;)
  2. heres the deal, I am handing my company car back in favour of a car allowance. this is the reason so much work has been done on my corrado in the last couple of months! but i am now thinking, especially with the ridiculous costs of things like rear quarter windows, should i opt for something a little newer like an S3 or an AUdi TT? I know some of the lads on here have had experience of the S3 and the TT and i would like some opinions. I have sort of spoilt myself with brand new company cars over the last 5 years, and now I am looking and thinking the mk1 TT /S3 offers that modern car feel. Am i being stoopid or what? cos i am having thoughts of transferring the juicy bits of the corrado onto a similar specced audi TT... thoughts? ta Coxy
  3. thems the things to go for if you want camber adjustment on the rear.
  4. in a scrap yard actually - the cheek!
  5. ok then next question - can you polish out etching on the glass? i know where there are some nice windows, but they are etched with the registration of the original car they are on, if I can get those polished out I will do that. any ideas?
  6. yes they are bonded - i have had mine out, I want new ones
  7. Hi, I have tan trim in my corrado, and have snapped one of the A pillar trims :( I have some black A pillar trims that I suppose i could paint, but need to find somewhere that sells the correct colour matched paint Any Ideas? cheers
  8. Hi, Where is the best place to buy some rear quarter glass for my corrado? the glass is fine but the seals have seen better days, so i was wanting to get them replaced. cheers Ian
  9. LOL very noticeable, my mate compared it to his old beetle, although the suspension was wound down way too low for my liking, which I think is the main cuplrit! In my pics on page 14 it looks OK, I wound down the coilovers 3cm from that pic and it really seemed to make it more noticeable (will have to dig out a pic of how it looks now.) ah I see you are like me and like the car at a usable ride height ;) nice one
  10. in my opinion its borderline acceptable. I have the mk3 vr6 syncro rear wishbones, and I am not running the car that low, so the camber doesnt look to bad. I wouldnt have it setup that aggressive if I had the choice, but look at the back of a TT, they run a canny bit of camber too, so i am just going to see how it goes.
  11. What the camber like on your back wheels then ? thats always an interesting topic when it comes to 4wd corrados :)
  12. the sasquatch is correct scott, all corrado came equiped with shoddy 280s. the P1 alloys are indeed direct from an impreza P1. they have an offset of something stupid like 52 or something, and the wrong sized center bore, so i had to do some severe machining on them to make them fit. They do look good though even if i do say so myself, and they have the clearance for the big red 4 pots :)
  13. no thems sh1tty 280s mate, the porsche ones are going on this week. those were hoyed on just so i could move the car about.
  14. quick picture update, I have been busy refitting everything back together. quite rewarding really - the car has never looked so good for years!
  15. yeah dude, just chill the f*ck out a bit and it will get finished lol
  16. yes i think thats right. Good plans dude!
  17. I would hang in with the R32 conversion mate, surely it must be a lot more work to go back to 12v and turbo, than ironing out the r32 issues? and re the quicker to make a baby crack - my baby would have been out looking for work in the feckin time i have been on with mine lol stick with it dude :salute:
  18. the fit is perfect apart from the bottom driver side corner, where it appears to need about 2mm trimming from the front corner. no pictures as of yet.
  19. hello sasquatch - I bought a set of FK silverline coilovers for a mk3 golf vr6 syncro. Now i am not really sure whether these differ from the golf rallye kit, if they do, then its only in spring rate. the normal 2wd rear struts are useless. either try and find some rallye rear coilovers, or get yourself a set of coilovers for a mk3 vr6 syncro. hope this helps dude.
  20. not yet mate. I havent actually done anything inside it since the last pics were taken. Hopefully I should make some good progress on it over the weekend fingers crossed.
  21. cheers for the comments, the car is exactly how i wanted it to look, and I think I am going to paint the bonnet.
  22. no offense taken, I asked for opinions and appreciate the input ;) I think i will see what it looks like, then if it looks naff I will carry on and paint the lot.
  23. The fit isnt bad. not perfect but not bad. I am thinking about painting the sides, and leaving the hump in carbon. I know there's a fine line in making the car looks stupid, but i think it could work given the rest of the car is really dark.
