I would have said crack one of the windows open and setoff a CO2 fire extinguisher in there, then just wait for a bit. job done, just leave your car door open for a couple of minutes before you get back in.

Let me guess - a merc SLR type airbrake? 8) I think Phat told me what you were planning  so have you sorted out a controller for it yet then?

Biggerbigben - Golf sold.. another new project!

I think only a sub can provide you with the full range of sound, I would like to be proved wrong though cos I would rather not have one either! and as far as attracting attention, I never ever had the thing turn up so loud as you could hear the bass from outside, mind you I dont think there is that much thumping bass in type of cool 80s tracks that I usually listen too :D -
Hells teeth - we're dropping like lemmings!
-
not a bad plan, it looks like I will be doing the 2wd thing myself for a while - but thats only because I havent found out how to make a controller for it yet. The turn in on you golf looks awesome! although I think you need to do something with those rear brakes! Is it having handling issues then?
-
Hello Daz! you definately sold me up the river with the one careful owner pitch lol  Brings a lump to my throat to see the motor being driven like it should. When I get it back on the roads I will be doing a few track days this summer, (decided I mayaswell use it in the tradition that its been used to) and I promise you can have a go of it. How the golf then? have you got the 4wd operating yet?

ok, just read this, good thread now :) My basis for my argument is that I know a lot of people with charged VRs and I dont know of any that have blown up. Pretty convincing argument for me really. No I havent actually driven more than 20 miles on a supercharged vr, but I do own the charger, and I can say for definate that its not putting any extra wear on my engine.......mainly because its sat on a shelf in my loft

put the old one back on lol
-
bah i am not having that. ok so are you telling me that your engine is giving out 182ft lb of torque for every mile of its life? no. in the same respect the charged engine wont be putting out its uprated figures constantly either. I have not heard a single case of charged vr blowing up (you can prove me wrong here) so I reckon what you are saying is theory based, and I prefer the practise side of life
-
impressive name, you had to get teh car to mach though didnt you? :D

amazing that people can find the time to take a few snaps of their speedo while doing double the speed limit  -
yep, well, phat did his first one by dousing it in petrol then chucking a match on it. but its not recommended.... it looked like the Piper Alpha oil disaster!
-
set fire to it ;-) that is without doubt the easiest way but I am not sure setting fire to your corrado would be the most sensible course of action
-
I wish people would stop saying that these chargers reduce the life of the engine, I firmly believe that is utter cack. If the engine has previous fault on it it will invariably make itself shown but I dont believe supercharging a VR does any damage to the engine what so ever.

isnt it about now where someone from the Type R forum spies this thread and copies the link to it over there? Got me tin hat on, and I am ready for another interforum war lol
