agree. no need for ear busting levels of sound. its 4 speakers + 1 sub for me all the way -
Hey Mr Riley - I have been following your mk1 strip down and rebuilt with great interest on the cgti forum, impressive, but I cant believe to took such a good clean car apart!!! your mmm mmm mmm ma maa mad sir!
-
air intake sensor on the manifold? where is that then?! or are you talking about the maf?
-
Well I took the ISV off and give it a good clean, mind you its wasnt particularly dirty, put it all back together......no different. I can hear the isv a bit more now though. I thought it was fixed but as soon as it got up to temperature it started popping and missing a beat on tick over. Its got me stumped, if it were an ignition problem then surely it would show up under load? but it goes like a train, and is as smooth as silk, its just when its hot and at low revs, low throttle. See I thought it might have been the ecu engine temp sender becuase its fine when cold, but when it gets up to temp, I think (in my head) that the temp sender is still telling the ecu the engine is cold and therefore it is running on its startup map, and over fuelling, causing popping spluttering and 24mpg running..... Does that make sense? or am I talking out of me big hairy ass?
-
I am actually talking about my mams VR :D I wish I was in a positin to complain about mine!
-
whats the recommend tyre pressure for a standard vr? (or any corrado in fact) I would be good to have a general guide as for tyre pressures with various profile tyres posted somewhere. Whos volenteeringto do that? :rroll:
-
the odd thing is the idle is as steady as a rock, it just pops and splutters quite a bit
-
ah - point taken, i will get some carb cleaner today
-
my car is on there too - albeit in the hands of its previous owner.
-
whats the difference between the 4 nd 5 stud setup then? apart from teh obvious... Surely its the same caliper with a different bracket on it?
-
didnt think the isv error would have anything to do with it.... Its weird, it runs great when its cold and warming up. as soon as its up to temp its dead fluffy and missy below 2000rpm. oh and I have warped the front discs....
-
I have had Vagcom on it and it didnt bring anything up. would a faulty temp sender register on vagcom? I know a lambda would
-
Hi, Its a strange one, when its up to operating temp, it seems to develop a low down part throttle misfire, and the tick over tends to pop and miss. What are the simptoms of the blue temp sensder going tits up?
-
thats handy to know, although it may be useless for me as I am grafting in the haldex diff which I have heard fouls the syncro roll bar :( I havent thought of an alternative yet
-
WOW enormous ride height!

few weeks then  what we need here is a on going project woes section where people in the depths of a project (and despair) can cry there troubles out - who knows we could even have a competition to see who has the furthest to go! :D I never look further ahead than my next job - I reckon I would start blubbing like a poof if I did -
Red corrado J88 TNL shot past me in sunderland just as I was turning into halfords/pc world dinner time today - anyone on here?

Will V6 4motion Haldex gearbox fit a 20v engine ????
CoxyLaad replied to biggerbigben's topic in Drivetrain
yeah, I had them friction welded the correct length cos I wanted the chunkier cvs. I would only have shafts shortened by friction welding and no other way, the consequences of one of those giving out at speed could be catastrophic -

I have done the 02M installation on my old mk2, and it was a bit of a fiddly job, with a few custom brackets to be made up, but its not horrific by anymeans, it is an engine out, subframe off job though. The corrado I have is using the mk4 engine mounting system, so the 02m just hangs there nicely. -
have you told anyone what you are doing with the exhaust yet?
