  1. To be honest I think its horrible. I appreciate the amount of work that goes into making something like that, but why mess with a classic design.....
  2. Yesterday morning - heading along the road to stamford bridge near york. burgendy-ish corrado, looked like a VR, coming the other way - I flashed (the lights) he waved, anyone on here?
  3. No bother - Us bikers are not the sensitive type lol Aye that is true, you are a lot more vunerable on a bike, but I suppose it teaches you proper roadcraft, as the punishment for complacency is a bit drakonian to say the least Thats fair enough, I can see both cars and bikes as very exciting passtimes. They arent going to be everyones cup of tea Ah but this is the point! non of us were slagging it off, christ I would love one, and would probablies sell my bike for one, I and others were just pointing out that clarksons hatred for two wheels had tainted that review somewhat with a dodgy 'Shock Horror' car V bike test which in my opinion was a staged stunt, heavily weighted in the atoms favour. not me - I love the vtec engines. have to agree. they dont produce great torque low down but they dont really need to in a car that light. LOL no you get no argument from me there  I much prefer a set of black 2 piece leathers over the glare of a power ranger suit. :D
  4. Haway then Coolrado, have you ever ridden a bike before in your life? I'm interested cos you are very opinionated on the subject.
  5. I think you are dead wrong there. The big difference is that it takes a hell of a lot more skill and commitment to get the best performance out of a bike, whereas in a car any old muppet can put in a half decent lap. Look at clarkson.... so? The bike weighs a lot less and needs a lot less absolute grip, couple that with the fact that the bike is a lot narrower than a car - for example these traffic calming areas, cars have to do a hard right then a had left, a bike is narrow enough to drive straight through the middle without turning. works the same on the track. Again you were probablies following a biker who is using about 15% of the bikes potential. You try and keep up with a proper rider (read loonatic) on a real bike, you wouldnt stand a chance. The only advantage a car has over a bike is that wider more stable footprint, which allows much later braking into corners, a bike can only brake to the point where the back wheel is lifting off the floor.
  6. hmmmm......I think I might take exception at this, unless you have something other than the top gear programme to go off. A number of points to note: 1. The bloke riding the bike was not cornering anywhere near as hard as the bike is capable of. FFS the bloke's knees were nowhere near the floor! I certainly think this was a staged effort (or a substandard bike rider) 2. Why chose a 600 to go up against? why not any of the big sports bikes available? duke, aprilla or any of the big 4 jap monsters? I'll tell you why, cos the ariel would struggle. Did you see that edition of Evo mag?, where they pitted about 10 top sports cars up against a GSXR1000, albiet a quite tuned one. The bike comprehensively demolished all in a straight line drag, which was to be expected, but it also beat everything out on the track including a radical SR-1. I mean f*ck me I would love an Ariel Atom over any of those big bikes, but I doubt it would be quicker than them, under any conditions other than braking into corners. and certainly not on the open roads.
  7. wow......classy pic - looks just like sunderland.....see the big thick line of cloud type substance in the background? that will be the smog over the top of middlesbrough  Very nice car by the way, has an incredibly expensive look about it 8)
  8. cool  Last time you were there you shot past me on teh a19 like a mad man. I say mad in the sense that it was pitch black and you must have been doing over a ton with nothing but your parking lights on lol!
  9. how come every car in that pic is a corrado!? Was it a meet or something?
  10. Yes....just happened to be thinking of saturday morning TV when Ant and Dec used to play that game called Splatoon.......Saturday morning telly has not been the same since they left, its more kids stuff now...... Loverly :)
  11. Made them myself. Easy, just time consuming and fiddly.[/quote:95219] So you used a quality street wrapper then  I prefer the hazelnut caramel filter myself lol
  12. Just to add to this, if you think of it all in slow motion, the cylinder rises slowwwwllllllly toward the top of the piston compressing the mixture, The spark plug fires splatooosh! (or what ever a spark plug firing noise makes). The mixture does not then explode instantaeneously but spreads from the plug out over. As the revs increase (vrroooom) the spark plug has to fire earlier inorder for the mixture to be fully burnt at the right time. Make sense? This also explains higher compression, mixture is squashed closer together therefore burns quicker. yes! top scientific explanation there I thank you :D
  13. Why does that bother you? is it not better to drive around in a well kept secret? It ouldnt bother me at all
  14. I didnt realise you were yodas big brother? ah clever you are, curvy it is lol  god I need to get out more
