I need some help! I have just aquired an R32 exhaust (thanks mr Phat) for my project, and as everyone know the r32 has 2 tail pipes one either side of the car. so....these are the options open to me for bumper modification: 1. fill the factory exhaust recess and cut 2 round holes for the exhaust to poke out of. 2. fill the factory exhaust recess and cut 2 mouse hole in the skirting board type holes for the the exhaust to fit. 3. fit another factory recess on the other side and make them fit like a double standard style exhaust. I am fancying number 3 because I like the factory look, so is there any photoshoppers out there that cold help me find out what its going to look like be chopping in a factory recess with R32 pipe on the other side of a car? I have attached a picture for you to play with, but feel free to use your own pictures, or even your own imagination. If I cant get anything to look righ I will hide the exhaust altogether and smooth it over at the back. Thanks dudes Ian

good sh1t - whens it out? also, Dinkus dude, get some new suspension, your car is all over the place!!!! -
anyways 430 quid is not that bad. Think about the poor motor bikers who can pay more than that for a system which would about a 3rd of the quantity of metal!

Are you and Phat competing for the forum's bluntest member? LMAO!!!! class hee hee -
the wiring for the 24v motor is immense - the ecu is a lot cleverer than the old vr one, and its not just a case of simply splicing the wiring in, it has multiple powersupplies all relayed and fused powering the fuse board. I agree the 20v turbo is the more sought after engine, but there are not many 24v v6 motors about, as there werent a million v6 4motions sold due to the high price and they would have to be serverely damaged to be written off at this age in their lives. Its funny that the 20v turbo has all the kudos but I know which motor I would rather have given the choice I know a man who can do the wiring if you get stuck :D I wouldnt like to try it on my own. are you planning a 24v conversion on your car then kev?
-
aye 300bhp through the front wheels has got to be a bit err lively!
-
kev how do you think the 24v conversion is cheaper than the 20v turbo? I honestly dont think they are, the 24v's are harder to find and thus cost more, plus Jobys car would be setup for a 4 cylinder motor ie gearbox engine mounts etc, to put a 24v valve in he would probablies need to either find the fron tend of a VR to rob the gear box and other parts from, or weld in the mk4 engine mounts and gearbox stabiliser. Both engines have some serious wiring issues to get them to run, and I suppose the 20v needs the boost piping setup too... ah who knows...

I will have a pic eventually but I havent started on the back end of my car yet, what do you want to know, and I will see if I can help you?
-
hawaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.......... :)
-
given the same problem I would rather choose the radical SR-1 for a single seater motor
-
what you after one of those for then ? :D
-
no I havent any pics, but thats cos my setup is actually on the floor of my garage waiting to go in!
-
that lass is wearing some canny chunky boots there lol
-
sorry but I think its a bloody awful shame......why? the leon is a nice car, if you want one then go and buy one, and leave the poor corrado alone. pap

christ theres a lot of cars being nicked lately :( -
gibber_2k, gibber_2k, I would only be speculating, but I reckon it could handle it easy, certainly the running gear can take it, I would guess at yes it can handle it, as even with the 4wd the gearbox has to handle all the power before its distributed, you might even say that the 4wd puts even more stress on the box as with better traction you will get better resistance to the engien torque. 20v turbo, I think its worth it, one thing to bear in mind is that your ratios will be fairly close, as the mk4 and leon run wheels with a bigger rolling radius, you will need the box, the dual mass flywheel, the shafts (which will need shortening) and the shifter mechanism. all the other engine mounts fit fine, you just need to sort out that gearbox mount. Its not that difficult really, just a bit time consuming

its a lot of work, I did the conversion on my 1.8T mk2 golf with a leon 2wd box. I had relocate the tower which the gearbox mounts to about 4 cm further back to make room for the huge CVs that come with teh box. then you have to make up a bracket to go from the box to the mount, then you have to get the drive shafts shorten to the correct length. I would say it was worth it, the ratios are nice and close and you have the benefits of massive cv and tough shafts. Oh and the action of the gearbox blows the corrado one away! 8) its ultra slick and precise, you have to try it. I have one in my car, but I when a totally different way about mounting mine, plus I am having the 4wd so i will need it.
