  1. I've probably got all of what you need, later on I'll snap some photos for you, just give me you email. Cheers.
  2. The entire NA exhaust will be ditched mate, the turbo has its own Manifold and downpipe. The turbo is bolted onto the manifold's flange Then the downpipe is connected to the turbine outlet of the turbocharger. Have a look on the web for a few photos. Remember, the entire exhaust is going to be replaced regardless so either make up your own or buy universal Silencers or get a company to do it all at great expense.. Which reminds me, I've got a decent spare bottom end you could use..
  3. Begs the question, How the fuc were they tightened down in the first place?... Check the crank really carefully now 'cos now that a bearing has spun god knows if it's scored the journals. I'll have a peek within my spare ABV block For those oil spray jets, not that i can see those causing the problema you previously described. Ask Your mate who did the rebuild if he angle-tightened the rod bearing bolts.
  4. Send me Your email and i'll get a few Tomorrow.
  5. I've Got a spare 2.0 9A manifold in Perfect Nick, any good?
  6. ...Well i have Got a 10.000 mile block, crank, mains, etc, etc up For grabs... Sorry, i couldn't resist.. Oil galleries clean and blown out whilst you were rebuilding? Did you check the oil flow to the bearings? I use a modified starter motor with an old oil pump jack shaft welded on, Great For bringing up oil press. On a new engine. Crank oil ways all clear? Have you Got a mechanical oil press. Gauge fitted inside the car? Even an electrical version would suffice.
  7. You can get the little black plastic boot hindge covers new from a guy in Germay who sells them on eBay.de, i bought two, both original Vw items for E44 posted. eBay no. 400996031623.

    Turbo help

I've got a twin-scroll kkk.28 for sale that would be more or less the equivalent of a Garrett gt40, you could always use the turbine housing off a Bmw 735 turbo (originally equipped with a kkk27 turbo) that would spool reasonably quickly. The Holset offered sounds huge, a hx35 is already quite big also, i find that its not easy to understand the A/R's of the Holset range of turbos either, more simple using Garrett, .48, .63 etc. The ideal situation would be like I've done and many others, fit a small nitrous set up to kill the lag, you'll only need it for a small amount of time when boosting, various benefits include cooler inlet temps, and more power low down. Also playing around with the cam timing would help the engine to boost earlier but on the vr it's not as simple to do as, for example a cossy engine. Also tweaking the ecu (programmable?) def. helps, advancing the timing off boost, bigger diameter exhaust down pipe etc, ball bearing cartridge'd turbo, modified exhaust wheel such as a 4/5 degree cut back on the wheel's blades. I personally think that a gt series Garrett would do the job or if you can afford, the Borg-Warner range of twins-scroll EF series turbos, night and day difference when compared to other turbos but at a price.. and to reap the full benefits of said turbo you'll also have to add on a twin-scroll manifold to match..

  13. I've got an original Bosch obd1 maf, only covered 19000kms.. Let me Know if you need it.
  14. As title chaps, anyone read it, in particolar the bit about the Vw Corrado? Has anyone got a spare copy? Ta.
  15. Ok mate, i'm in it. Send me your email and i'll send you a few photos.
  16. 'Any headlight', you mean any headlights? left or right hand? 1st series corrado or '92 onwards version? Hub as in 1 or both sides? brakes, just 1 disk or both? compleat set-up,caliper,mounting bracket etc? More info. pleeze.
  17. Although it's been more than 10 years since i last removed the head off a g60 engine, those brackets look like the ones used to secure down the Black, plastic fuel injector rail. Have you found 2 small Allen head bolts that were used with the brackets? Or they could have come off the heat should that is/was supposed to be fitted to avoid heatsoak.
  18. Quote easy actually, did all 4 Windows on 2 different corrados around 10 years ago, just got my dad to help me put the front screen in using crap, cheap window suckers..Getting the buggers out is the difficult bit. Take your time, use Sikaflex windscreen bond, clean all around the perimeter and the screen and don't forget the rubber spacers and fit the seals on first. Avoid getting the sealant on anything except the frame, utter bastid to remove.. Aim the screen properly and lower it into the frame. Don't use too much sealant or it'll ooze out inside and look crap.
  19. Hi, Got a few of both mate, what do you prefer, lens or complete unit? Send me your email and i'll get you a few photos of both. Cheers.
