my mate's got a st4 g40 and the thing is rapid off the mark. they are quite suprisingly quick. I love em....they just don't look like a raddo does....
-
what sorta mileage / condition is it in Bill?
-
Having said that...the vr6 has a lower sump doesn't it?...so maybe that might cause you a problem if you're lower than 30mm?...(( ive not had a vr ))
-
Excellent, great info cheers mate! It's a 1.9
-
Cheers Nick, i'm going to look at a Tdi with 120k miles tommorow, brand new MOT, cambelt change, blah blah blah , they want £850, seems like a sensible buy to me...i'm gonna be doing alot of motorway miles, I reckon a tdi would be ideal for that.

On a tangent, Am I allowed to buy a car with no tax from somewhere and drive it back to my garage without taxing it?...seems you need a cover note to tax a car, and that will take at least a day to come through?
-
hmmmm.. was 1996 not the year that they changed the design to the more rounded one then? oh..and good link dazzy cheers!...although the forums hardly buzzin!
-
Has anyone got a pic of a 1996 passat ?....i've tried my favourite search (( google image )) and it's letting me down. :? ... I'm not sure what shape it is, they were alot more boxey at one stage. oh...and a saloon one if poss
-
Have you ever had a fff..f.....fffffff.....ffffffffffff...fffffffffffffffffffffffffff nah..can't do it.. but have you had one?
-
mmmmm s4 MONDEO?????????????????? thats ...thats.....thats a ...fff..f..fffff...ffff....nah..i cant say it.
-
speaking of which.....that check hasn't arrived yet dooooooood
-
yep..very true...but i was just disagreeing that with any more than a 30mm drop you'l be scraping the road all the time...cos I didn't ground out once with a 40mm drop. Whereas my las g60 was dropped 80mm and had a 90mm splitter...and sometimes (( depending on the camber of the raod )) I could leave my car parked with no handbrake and not in gear and it wouldn't move because it was stuck to the floor  ..gutted I never got a pic actually. EDIT-- and judging by my typing today...i'm the drunk :D
-
gotta dissagree with that dunk. I had a 90mm splitter, dropped 40mm with 15" rims with low profile tyres, never had a problem really, maybe not quite as practical as 30mm...but not too bad. I'd deffo go with the coilovers myself, then you can pick and choose. I had fk's (( not sure which one's but they were hight and damp adjustable)) and found them to be a nice ride.

you can wind it up and down manualy mate.
-
thats probebly easier mate, and they aren't expensive. :thumb right:
-
yeah..just carefully lever it out with a flat head screwdriver.
-
...look.....a dancing badger.......
-
My guess would be that one. Go into GSF and they'll show you it on their screen.
-
I'd have to agree whole hartedly, you really do get what you pay for mate.
-
looks like an awsome trip. Out of interest, how much does it cost to enter mate?
