Or you could buy a complete beige plastic interior :)

I've had cloth recaros, cloth standards, and leather standards - never had leather recaros. I would agree with dukest and Kev with regards to the standard cloth seats being the comfiest - they definitely grip you much more than leathers. Recaros are still very comfy, I think they're lighter and they look better IMO, as well as the electric adjustment and the *RARE111!!* factor, that's why they fetch a premium. I prefer leathers ultimately because they make the car feel a bit more refined/posh/grown up to me :camp:

Advice on KW sport and OE suspension with std wheels/tyres
Walesy replied to James.'s topic in Drivetrain
Probably not relevant, but I've just had a KW Suspension kit fitted to my T4 van (-40mm shocks and springs) and the ride quality is sublime, its literally transformed how the van drives and I'm over the moon with it, I think they're just top quality across the range and as above, I don't think you could go wrong with them. I'll probably be going for a -40mm KW kit for my Corrado when the time comes for a suspension change. -
There is but I've heard bad things about them, I've just emailed the ebay company to ask for details of their rebuild (as in what parts will have been replaced in the recon box etc) so I'll see what they come up with! Cheers for the replies :salute:

The only thing stopping me from just going with the company on ebay is that I cant find any info/reviews on them online, anyone here heard of them?
-
Sorry, did you just suggest that I ask for technical advice on Dub Marines?

Having looked again they're not £700, they're £600 starting bid  http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Transporter-T4-re ... 933wt_1165

Yeah I could source a used box but like I said I'm reluctant to do that as buying a 2nd hand box is pot luck! They seem to sell for around £300 but there's always the chance that I pay to have it fitted to find it's bust, or that it busts in a year or two! The company I found that do recon boxes for £700 give a 12 month warranty so at least thats a bit of piece of mind I suppose.
-
Nah it stops when I take it out of gear or stop accelerating, the garage I use also said its likely to be the diff bearings, are they easy/cheap to replace mate? Jonny I expect it would cost a fair bit more than £300 to rebuild my box but if you know of any decent companies post the links up tbh!

I'm not having much luck with my vehicles at the moment! The T4s gearbox has started to make a whining noise, I must admit i've been worried about the box for a while as the vans covered 150k and was originally 88bhp but is now running 130bhp! I've spent just under a grand on it in the last month having new brakes and the suspension sorted and this is how it repays me! So, does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be making the whine? Its rev related (gets louder/higher pitched the higher the revs) and it happens in every gear. Im in a similar situation to the VR6 in that I don't want to do half a job on it as I intend to keep the van forever so Im reluctant to put a 2nd hand box on that could land me in the same position in a couple of years time - having said that I've priced up a new box and it comes in at £1500+VAT plus fitting which is a bit expensive tbh! I've found a company that supplies recon box's for £700 exchange - so that may be a better option, either that or maybe have my box rebuilt? Any words of wisdom would be appreciated :)

dont mind MonkeyVR6, hes a copper... Really? I'd never have guessed  I had a bump in this situation a few years ago, fortunately I was going slow enough that there was no damage to either car and the guy I hit took responsibility for hesitating, and that was the end of that. You live and learn though, next time I'm sure you'll check the car in front! :)

I've not had a conversion done but have considered it, i'm certainly no expert and everything I've picked up has been read on here so the info's there for the taking, from people who actually know what they're on about, but I'll try my best  I think for a 24v conversion you're looking at a fair bit more than £2k including the engine :( Forums, ebay, breakers, thats pretty much it! You're better off sticking to a 6 cylinder engine in a 6 cylinder car as a rule of thumb, so people converting 8v,16v,g60s tend to go for 4pots (1.8 20vt) and those converting VR6's go for 24v 2.8's and R32s on the whole It'll depend on the engine and who does the conversion I suppose, but in most cases I think you can use most of the standard parts with things like you've mentioned but sometimes custom mounts/exhaust manifolds etc have to be made or bought. Again not an easy question to answer, brakes can be left but its sensible to improve them if you're upping your power significantly, electrics is a case of how you want things done and how much you want to spend. Theres a on here who was talking about a loom for 24v > VR6 conversions running on stock management but I don't remember the outcome. Like I said, for VR6's the most common engine used is the 2.8 24V and the R32 Have a look around on here, theres plenty of info to be found :norty:

Valver for the girlfriend's first car - opinions please...
Walesy replied to pete_griff's topic in General Car Chat
She's a 25 year old woman, surly she's capable of making the decision herself? A 16v will be no quicker than 90% of the cars on the roads these days, by todays standards they're not a fast car. Obviously they're not the easiest or safest car to drive, but as you say she's a sensible 25 year old person, there are plenty of people a lot younger than her driving around in Corrados, all of us managed with cars with lower safety standards than todays models? As I said, my missus has driven them since passing her test at 24 and (touch wood) has done masses of miles over the years since without a single problem, she loves them  Panels/parts may be more expensive, but that's the price you pay for driving a car you love - none of us would bother with a 16 year old VW unless we did! -

I taught my missus to drive in a 200bhp G60 Corrado and she's driven them since passing on and off, don't see the problem mate :) -

Havent you bought most of that on here or whatever, meaning it'll be worth pretty much what you paid for it?

Are you a gayer though? -
Hiya, this might help = http://wiki.the-corrado.net/ignition_sw ... ement.html

khaki green! Ice Grey Violet is pretty much the same as DBP when it comes to rarity, but trying to find a rado in any specific colour is a difficult task nowadays, apart from maybe Classic Greens and Reds!
-
Well the word 'rare' is subjective I suppose, but it's not a colour you see very often, considering the fact it was used for 4 years of production :dorky: - Not the rarest of colours though by far I'm afraid :)
-
Yeah, as Dave says it sounds like its been fitted by a previous owner.
-
The window control unit is behind the drivers side rear door card, that'll be the clicking, might be worth checking the contacts etc?
-
That would be me then :D  I quite fancied having a Recaro in there but I'm not compromising comfort/safety for it, I assumed that Recaro would produce high quality child seats given their reputation but maybe that's not the case! Cheers very much for the info - I'll just get another Maxi-Cosi :)
