  1. did it do any further damage to your engine steve?....it seems as if the paranoia of charger failure will be the same whether i have my charger serviced or not....is the only reason for seal's to blow incorrect fitting?...or do they have a habbit of blowing?.... (( sorry to fire loads of charger questions..its just that its coming up on my list of things to do to my car and im not sure which way its best to go! ))
  2. would be interesting to know how much of a ballache it is to put one on....they seem to be cheap as fook....im assuming this adapter plate would have to be custom made?.
  3. yeah...ive heard they are used on mercies.....anyone know anything about how much power they put out and take to be run in comparison to the g-lader?..im gonna assume they arent a worth while converstion as no-one seems to have one! :? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 32854&rd=1 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 91865&rd=1
  4. just to add to the confusion...what about Etons????.....ive not heard anything about them.
  5. could be the ignition barrel.....though id be shocked if PSD didnt check that...they have a really good reputation.
  6. when you say remove and replace...do you mean the whole unit?..if so its fairly easy...just have to remove the headlining and undo 4 or 6 bolts (( cant remember !)) ...
  7. Carpy. just seen this thread mate...looks like a nightmare incident....its times like this that it does bring it home to you that the car is a lump of metal, its easy to drive around with an invincable feeling...but like the saying goes ...its not you , its the other drivers you gotta worry about!!.....hope you and your wife recover quickly and im glad that you didnt happen to be in your immacualte raddo!>
  8. agreed... by the by....if the charger blows a seal in this way, can it cause direct damage to any other part of the engine?...just wondering if the reason charger servicing is so important is entirely to do with the fact that chargers are expensive to replace or is it becasue other damage can be caused aswell?.

  17. thats £13.50 per side tho.....bloody good service and quality part....well worth it.

  19. yeah..thats a better way of putting it.. ... ive just been out and turned my beeps of...huge ammount of joy as ive had this alarm on various cars for nearly 2 years having to put up with that bloody noise!..it took dinkus asking for me to actually do something about it tho  ... so from what you're saying mk2_20vt, if you get into the program mode and do the 3,3 sequence the doors will autolock when you start the ignition and autounlock when you turn it off??? 8)
  20. your handles broken???....on your corrado???.....nah...not a chance...
  21. ok. with regards to the auto-arm this cant be turned off...this is what makes the alarm a CAT1... the beeps.... let the car immobalise itself, then turn the key in the ignition, you should now see the red LED stay on. now turn the ignition back off and the light will flash.....you must count the flashes to enter the code....the code is : 1,2,3,8,8. i.e 1. ignition on to see red LED stay on 2.ignition off 3.count 1 flash 4.ignition back on 5.igntion off 6.count 2 flashes 7.igntion on 8.igntion off 9.count 3 flashes 10. igntion on 11.ignition off 12.count 8 flashes 13.ignition on 14.ignition off 15.count 8 flashes the alarm will beep to let you know the code has worked.
  22. These alarms are indeed as hot as a preverbial pie....ive got one and got quite friendly with the guys who fit them locally....i could try and contact them to see if its a simple thing to change...i hadnt realised that you could turn the bleeps off, they are a bit crap.
  23. well done mate....its good to see someone actually going through with it...good luck.
