  1. obviously the bulk of anti SUV thoughts are from people that haven't driven any of these things for long periods of time............Ive driven a fair few of them (Land-Rover/Range Rovers,Landcruisers,Merc ML's,X5's Toerags etc)and although I'd rather drive/own the likes of a 911 I find them so hassle free/easy to drive especially with Autoboxes, not everyone wants a car to lap the nurburgring or take down their favourite bit of twisty road.........and with city driving getting more and more stop start-stop start I'd rather be stuck in traffic in the likes of a SUV(the Missus has a Freelander 2 TD4 auto btw)than say my Corrado or 993...........yes a fair few of them are bought for their status symbol image.........but FFS the Corrado was when it was new one of the cars to be seen in for similar reasons
  2. should be candy...........tho not unknown for K-platers to be Alpine as 92/93 was the last year of alpine white
  3. nice motor................9/10 tenth's a M3 in day-to-day driving............as for the reg most prefix reg's ending in SS/SO/SA are Aberdeen/Aberdeenshire area numbers
  4. bit of a joker tho "FULL VW history" VAG Alan Day LTD, Finchley, London: 29.04.1992 @ 1,899 miles VAG Alan Day LTD, Finchley, London: 16.09.1992 @ 3,305 miles VAG Alan Day LTD, Finchley, London: 09.09.1993 @ 6,212 miles VAG Alan Day LTD, Finchley, London: 05.09.1994 @ 9,077 mile VAG Alan Day LTD, Finchley, London: 30.08.1995 @ 11,777 miles VAG Alan Day LTD, Finchley, London: 30.08.1996 @ 14,578 miles VAG Alan Day LTD, Finchley, London: 01.09.1997 @ 17,471 miles VAG Alan Day LTD, Finchley, London: 25.08.1998 @ 20,098 miles VAG Alan Day LTD, Finchley, London: 25.08.1999 @ 22,569 miles VAG Alan Day LTD, Finchley, London: 24.08.2000 @ 24,838 miles VAG Alan Day LTD, Finchley, London: 23.08.2001 @ 26,844 miles VAG Alan Day LTD, Finchley, London: 21.08.2002 @ 28,814 miles VAG Alan Day LTD, Finchley, London: 16.07.2003 @ 30,760 miles VAG Alan Day LTD, Finchley, London: 12.07.2004 @ 32,490 miles Cooper Bishopsgate BMW, London: 14.06.2005 @ 33,946 miles Cooper Bishopsgate BMW, London: 07.12.2006 @ 35,416

  8. dependant on which VR you have (ie 2.8 or 2.9) the engine code is AAA(2.8) or ABV(2.9)
  9. bought mine back in 2001  .............only the second owner on it too :D
  10. just let the insurance pay the third party and repair the C your self............it'll still hit your NCD but as you are repairing the car yourself then it won't get written off
  11. it'll be written off if they insist on new parts being fitted
  12. I bought my 993 outright..........then again in 2years of ownership its doubtful if I've lost even £2k the way 993 prices are at the moment :D
  13. just the same as doing a VR6 into a Golf...........tho you will need to change the driveshafts/hubs IIRC..............tbh you'd be as well just buying a real Vento VR
  14. Porsche wheels on this http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... 23&t=63397
  15. its just that tho............a) there is no such thing as a Porsche Cup 3 wheel and b)Porsche Turbo twists are Hollow spoke one piece wheels in an 18 inch size(as OE fitment on 993 TT's) so really its a bit of a misnomer calling them Porsche wheels let alone Porsche Turbo twists as here is what the real Porsche Turbo Twists look like
  16. gives a useful guide to the various Genuine Porsche wheels with the sizes they were available in,offsets and part numbers also lists some of the aftermarket wheels that are popular in Porsche circles http://www.944racing.de/reload.php?urlt ... ichte.html funnily enough...no sign of those so called "Porsche" turbo twist splitties
  17. "Motor" was swallowed up by Autocar in 88 btw..........so it might be under Autocar's copyrights
  18. ahhh so it deffo won't be faulty then :? ............what about the fuse for it??
  19. check if your sunroof and spoiler work too............if they don't then it could be the fuse for them gone........bizarrely enough it also controls the fuel pump IIRC
  20. remember the headliner is different from the std grey affair on non-cream/beige interior'd ones
  21. they'd need to buy Lancia first then :) ................also IIRC Porsche had their electric rear spoiler on the go the same time as the Corrado(ie 1989)
  22. you might find that you insurance could be null and void if you are in an accident tho..........as VW states 205's for the Corrado VR so therefore you are under tyred according to the manufacturers spec
  23. utter borrocks matey................Aberdeen is indeed the oil capital of europe...........but only due to the bulk of the oil industry having HQ's/big offices in Aberdeen, there ain't no refineries in Aberdeen............our Petrol comes up from Grangemouth where the rest of Scotland's petrol gets distributed from
