sounds a good'un and pretty rare too with the cloth recaros..............anyway here's a link to the heater blower fix......fixable for under £1....in fact under £0.50p http://website.lineone.net/~quigger/heater.htm as for lowering it..............this is essential on any VR6.............just for cosmetic reasons.........IMHO the VR6 looks sooo stupid with its quasi-4x4 look

welcome to the forum :D right insurance-wise IIRC its the 1.8 16v(139bhp) which is the cheapest to insure........the lower powered 2.0 8v(115bhp) is meant to be 1 group higher for some weird reason :? MPG wise.........the 2.0 8v will/should be more economical than both 16-valvers and have a look in the "common corrado question" section for a good buying guide to help you sort the wheat from the chaff -
Have I set an official record ... for the most written-off ?

if you decide to repair it yourself PM me and i'll give you details of a very nice A1 condition driver-side door  -
IIRC it more to do with if its from a 16v will it fit a VR......... due to the different radiator
-
well if u put it on E-bay the skys the limit  ..........but at the same time my stealer supplied me one last year for £2+VAT
-
and of course the oil temp function is great to let you know when to give it some stick..........
-
There is 'outside air temperature' in there as well somewhere :) D'oh   .....knew i forgot summat :D
-
tough one to call too  ......but i think its best for this to go into the common corrado questions section
-
you'll have (in no real order)MFA 1 time(default),MPG(average),journey time(resets after about 2 hours lack of use IIRC),MPH(average speed)Oil-temp(starts at --- when cold and starts to register from 50-146 degrees in 2 degree increments).......reset by pushing MFA switch to the 0 next to the number 1.......... MFA 2 is identical except the values for MPH,journey time,MPG are totals til either reset, battery disconnected or reach 99.59 hours or miles reach 9999+ MFA 2 is reset by pushing the switch to the 0 next to the number 2
-
yip its the blue coolant temp switch.....approx £8-ish from VW
-
i'll give james montgommie(skids neighbour and ex C 16v owner) a bell sometime later today........he had them in his about 3-4 years ago
-
yip skid's is just on 40k miles and IIRC sandy's g/f's father has one with under 20k miles on it....and thats an H-plater IIRC
-
Yes, if there's no bill for it then I doubt it wil have been done... I can't remember the exact cost but i'm sure its around the £500-£1000. maybe someone else can shed some light on this ?? Dan i wouldn't get too hung up on timing chains being done at 100k.............various people have differing thoughts on this i know Vince from Stealth is a strong advocate of replacing them at roughly the 100k mile mark etc or obviously if they are noisy....but i know of a VW head tech who reckons that they should easily last the normal service life of the VR engine so 200+k miles.....providing the engine has been well-maintained and not thrashed from cold etc......also i know Jim Curley from Star-Performance thinks that the should only be replaced if they show signs of wear and/or are noisy and aren't really a service related item
-
yer a tart sir! :-P :-P :-P
-
there might be your problem if you do decide to sell............if it aint got history......how do you know if the mileage would be genuine?......also why are you thinking of selling after only 2 months ownership? :? :? :?
-
bit hard for most of us to price over here given that you're stateside(and obviously different market conditions etc) and its a lot rarer over there than here IIRC the UK was the Corrado's biggest market outside Germany
-
i'll lock this up then
-
how the hell can 15's be too small for a Corrado :?: ......when they came from the factory with them  if the factory got it right, none of us would be driving modified cars........... i class my storm being modded a wee bit........still got the factory solitudes on it though
-
now now Kev.......you've met me.......can u honestly imagine me in spandex............if you can then you are one sick sick puppy :-P     seriously was just giving young jedi some banter.....didn't mean any offence by it
