Current secondhand prices for Corrado's
TheWizardofOdds replied to delfinis38's topic in General Car Chat
Yip.Probably worth about 7k(can only imagine what Volkscars would sell for). But then, you're not selling it are you? How could you just keep that in a garage? -
1st thing's first. My affinity with VW in general, lies solely with the Corrado. I think most people that frequent this forum have their default setting at 'will give a new model from VW every chance, especially if it be a Scirocco,Corrado or Golf.' I was willing this to be good myself-and I'm ambivelant towards 'roccos. It's shite. Ok,it's only a concept.Let's see how much it changes.I'm guessing not much. It's non-descript,they couldn't have picked a worse colour to showcase the brief. Hope my gran gets one.

Yip.Loads of 'rado for sale ads with that blurb.Should read-'missus wears the trousers-she's lookin' for £----.

Some people have all the luck... cheap Storm
TheWizardofOdds replied to Andy665's topic in General Car Chat
I'm pretty sure the old boy knew its value,he would have paid a good 20 bags for it in the first place. £600 though?..good work. -
Lol.It works-because I stay well clear of cars parked like that. I've learned the hard way and always park furthest away possible,I haven't yet had anyone park a bay either side. The old disabled/parent and child parking bays topic is usually good for some righteous debate. And this one's no different. Of course, the disabled ones are neccessary.I'm highly dubious of the validity of parent and child ones' though.I would imagine they came about from the supermarkets' mercenary ploy to bring more shoppers to their stores(and who does most of the shopping?..yip,mum does)not to show their concern for the little 'uns safety. What next?..Couch Potato Bay,Not As Fit As I Used To Be..
-
I'm not sure this is caused by 'acid' rain. Pretty sure I've read somewhere that the small drops or bubbles of water present on the car, allied with strong sunshine, has a magnifying affect.Resulting in the paintwork being scorched.
-
Lookin' good.I love everything about this car(except the blackened roundel). Ride height fine-some folk get carried away with that here. It looks like you have the same problem as me:the left wiper(from drivers' perspective)sits too high.Nice.
-
Love the car dude.Great colour. It's a shame you're changing the speedlines-they're cool as.
-
The geezer that reversed(!)onto the exige must've been on ketamine. There is no other explanation. Is it just me,or do all other car sites/forums appear a bit rubbish? The layout and all that.I think this forum's a bit posh, innit?
-
This happened to me this morning, and continues to happen on a regular basis;two lanes, both can only turn right-into two lanes.I'm in lane 1,wishing to turn into lane 1.Mr Cab Driver's in lane 2,which lane does he turn into? ..yip,lane 1,thus cutting me off and nearly causing an accident(but not quite, because I pre-empted him doing this).Naturally this pissed me off,and I let him know.He then crossed both lanes in a zig-zag fashion and slowed down to really rub it in. Why,I don't know-but I decided to spare him.

Thanks for the reply lads. Phil,I have a VR6.I'll try again for the T-piece,and hope it's the right one. davidwort,I can't be sure that I have the 0-10 bar sender,as I haven't a clue when it comes to things like this.I did however, get the gauge and sender in a forum buy,so it should be right.

Love it.You can see the Corrados' lineage clearly in the MK 1.Really clean lines.

The Corrado Replacement - Project 964
TheWizardofOdds replied to 24V Renshaw's topic in Members Gallery
Quality.I like your use of the word 'delete'. Beautiful car.Surprisingly, the steering wheel you have replaced the original with, looks more stock than the original(and better too). -
This has turned into a nightmare for me.Was fixed then wasn't.. My 'Auto Electrician' is having problems with this. The oil lamp/idiot light flashes and alarm sounds after 5mins of driving, but only with driving, not stationary and/or revving. It seems that he wants the T-piece now(I told him this after reading it on the forum)to fix the problem. So,a couple of questions please..Can anyone confirm the parts no.for the T-piece please as there is a bit of dubiety over this, between the spark and a geezer at the stealers.I gave the guy at the dealers the part no. mentioned earlier in this thread and he seems to think it's another T-piece I need. Also, the gauge shows battery voltage as 12-14.Which I think is ok,no?.The oil pressure however is actually off the scale past 10-that can't be right surely?

That's Hammonds' nice little vignette on the Corrado. No sign of the elusive Return of the Storm though.

my beautiful super smooth beasty is back

hehehe....good quotage. Your cars dynamite as is. -
Must be Chinese Whispers.I seem to recall someone telling me that it was Herr Clarkson doing the driving(can't be right). My vivid imagination conjures a visual of Jeremy driving said Storm through France en route to Germany muttering to the camera that indeed the door handles are shite, the wipers are shite, the headlights are shite, your sunroof might not work unfailingly, the doors shut with a most un-German-like tininess, but that the car has a mystical hold over your senses for all this and looks the absolute dogs conkers.Even in 10 years time. Possibly.

Can you actually get any that only you can take off? I'm sure I saw some in Halfords that said on the pack-'comes with locking key'-all I could see were four valve caps.Like I said, they look good on and make a difference but I can't be arsed with getting them nicked everytime I get new ones.
-
Your wheels look great.I also got mine refurbed recently and it makes some difference. The people that refurbed the wheels also put on new wolfrace valve caps-shiny metal efforts. They looked really good on-and now the local chavs have nicked all four off my car whilst I was on holiday. I'd quite like to refurb my calipers too.Going to try it myself and paint them Classic Green same as my C.I like the red on Aqua Blue though, looks the bomb.

The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...
TheWizardofOdds replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
Today I threw £200 at the mother. MOT. New brake discs and pads. Not bad considering that it hasn't had a proper MOT in two years. -
Mate's new ride......not fair !
TheWizardofOdds replied to BigTartanJudge's topic in General Car Chat
Sorry, have to agree I'm afraid.I do like Porsches, but convertibles are ladies cars.My pal has one also, and it's not a patch on a Corrado. I am in no way biased. Edit:Love the red leather interior, reminds me of the Alfa GTV. -
Off-hand,I don't think there's a strip of plastic between them.I guess it must be locking tabs, there are no pins at all.Suppose I'll have to keep an eye out for a new panel.
-
The panel/button comes loose from the dash and slides right out and refuses to stay in place.Could there be fixing pins missing? Can I buy them anywhere,or do I need a new panel? Has anyone else had this problem? It appears that the dash has been taken off at some point(heater matrix,I think)could this have something to do with it? Thanks.
-
Are the dealers' VW decals a uniform size?..or do you ask for a particular models'.I'm pretty sure they'll be stumped if I say they're for Corrado solitudes. Also, are these about £9 each too? My BBS decals are still on,but are really tatty. As the alloys are in for a refurb I'd like to get new VW ones.Do I take the old ones off or sandpaper them a bit and put the new ones on? Thanks.
-
Are these original sills exclusive to a particular model of Corrado?-mine just has beige plastic strips. The scripted ones look really good, way better than the metal type that are on ebay.
