  1. The red led just flashes when me alarm/immobiliser is on, and the jack socket is for a manual override of the alarm system. just in case I lose a key fob i guess. If you unscrew and pull out your gauges, check that none of the wires going into the pod are touching at the connectors. If not, I would get a torch and make sure the sender is wiring correctly. when you're look at the sender (on top of the oil filter housing) the gauge wire should be connected to the left pole (marked with a G. If you can't see the sender very well, I'd swap them over and just see if that makes a difference. Hope that helps, and if all else fails and you want to post the pod to me I'll wire it up with a few fitting instructions? I'm off next week- so will have a butchers, see what the score is. If unsuccessful, I might just take you up on that. Cheers :thumbleft:
  2. Like it. 8) I like the interior. Looks fresh. Not into the steering wheel though.
  3. That looks great. Job done. I had mine fitted by a :cowboy: , when the pressure needle went off the scale (and where it currently resides) and I remarked on the wrongness of it, he said 'it's 'cause the engine's so good'. Mug. :( I've always thought the Corrado script should have been in the original style, same with the dash. :geek: What's the thingies on the thingy area-never seen that before?.. vdo guages go straight off the scale if they are connected to voltage without the sender wire being connected or as said on the switch side of the sender not the guage side I'm so clueless with these things that that means nothing at all to me! I will get it sorted one day. Thanks anyway though. It's the red thingy and the jack socket next to the coin holder that's stumped me.

  5. Very nice. 1st, and original for me (not what you wanted to hear) . The last is audi, I believe? Personally, I think they over-complicate, rather than tidy up. The 'rado is a simple, classy design, don't let the wheels detract from that. Edit- On second thoughts, they remind me of the Audi style. Either way..
  6. 200k is the new 100k geezer. It's sexy. Seriously, I'm aiming for 200k, long way off, but will get there. Everyone's talking about it. It's a badge of honour. :salute:
  7. That is chilling, reading the pre-crash posts. That could so easily have been me when I was a boy (and very nearly was). But as has already been said, having a scare when you're young - and surviving to tell the tale, certainly tempers your approach to driving. Reading his posts, he seemed like a good lad. Obviously there are others who will contest that, but that could have happened to so many young men in charge of that kit. On a serious note, they've got some serious smilie action goin' on, on that forum. Very imaginative. :ignore:
  8. Me too, geezer. I'm the patient sort, but this thing is getting old now. And my candles are burning low. All I'll say for the moment, is that if I took money off you nearly three months ago and still I hadn't produced the goods I said I would deliver 8 weeks ago, I would at least keep you up to date via PM. No such courtesy extended my way.
  9. Well said. It seems there's a frenzy to ban one thing after the other in this country. Let's put down the Daily Mail for a minute and chill out. :hitler:
  10. Godammit, I was going to say that! Seriously, get the M coupe. It's the only car I would even consider changing my Corrado for ( honestly ). And even then I couldn't do it. I'd go for the 944 of the two you mentioned, though.
  11. This is obviously bothering the boy. Poll?..To C or not to C?
  12. Very nice. A nice side-on pic would wrap it up nicely, I feel. How did you do the rears? There's a million threads on here about it, but I can't think of a definitive Orange Flashingness Guaranteed one.
  13. I would leave the BMC where it is. I don't think that would put a potential buyer off, in the way that the lights/wheel might. The engine bay looks good. I would agree with changing the rear light cluster and steering wheel. These things are more likely to 'offend' (no offense, :) ). Lovely car, and will sell no problem.
  14. You would think that whites would all look the same, more or less. I think Candy White is a really striking colour, distinct. Love the first pic. Edit; Actually, why Candy White? Candy:American confectionery, Candy-floss, John Candy, Candy Dulfer.. The things that trouble me..
  15. I don't know if those alloys are OEM or not, but that is a great example of less is more, in a OEM kind of way. Loves it.
  16. Top. Rims far nicer, clean and classy like the Corrado.
  17. Not a problem for a 14k'er though. :)
  18. Very sad indeed. You have to ask yourself though, how the hell did he find himself in that situation?
  19. I know exactly where you're coming from. I really want to work on my car too (learn to work), but the weather is making that very hard to do. It seems to me too that the car shows it's age in winter all the more. I haven't washed it in months. Like yours, the footwell is wet from a gubbed windscreen and it is creaking and rattling inside like a erm.. Corrado. And to top it off the old chestnut that is the ABS lightshow has reared it's ugly head again. All this just makes me more determined to get the car in shape over the coming months. I can't really tell you what to do with yours only you know how much you love  your car. Hopefully you can find somewhere to work on it soon and give it some TLC.
  20. Are you sure? Had you finished that sentence? Or should it have read "he likes his dubs crushed" . Would the door handles from a Mk 1. fit a Corrado? I like.
  21. Good work, my man. That's a cracker, great price too.
  22. Yeah, 200 k- nice one. These cars are too easily written off, well done for resisting. I'm doing the new windscreen thing at the moment myself and it's a massive pain in the arse. I've got two tiny chips in the screen and the autoglass geezer I booked in to do the job, successfully talked me out of going ahead with the repair " it might crack even worse..". You'd think it would be reasonably straight forward. Anyway, hope you get everything sorted out ok.
  23. Cheers. hope you get good news next week too.
