Yeah, they invited me to a face to face interview next then medical and it's now at the referee stage, hope to hear this week.

It does sound like fun. And a bit different from just sitting in a room for an hour talking about yourself. My only worry is getting eliminated early over something silly and then not really having a chance to prove myself. But I guess it's all down to me really. Assessment days are so far from fun it's erm, not funny. I attended one recently and was stressed to the gunnels, I did pass the selection day however. Most companies will send you examples similar to that which you will be expected to overcome on the day in advance, all I can say is study the material hard, this will instill confidence and it really clicks in on the day if you have put in the ground work. I too worried about being eliminated early without proving myself, but you just have to accept it and make sure you're as prepared as you can possibly be. Good luck.

Too true. It's easy to get caught up in the whole mileage thing, mine was sub 90k when I bought it and is now on 102-ish. My drive to work and back is only 20 miles a day, 4 days a week, and I take my girlfriends car out for journeys of less than 10 miles. The 'future classic' element is fine as long as you don't make the mistake of equating that with becoming a rich man off the back of it, and is certainly not the reason I bought the car in the first place.

I think I need a new windscreen. Small chip and it's cracked in the bottom nearside corner. If done through the insurance will they source a Sekurit OEM screen? The seal is perishing too as water is now coming in and there is a lot of noise in the cabin. Do they get these parts? Thanks for any input.

For me: Classic Green Mystic blue Inca blue Stratos Blue (I think it's Stratos) The last two are pretty rare, I would say. I've seen a few Inca Blues on here but the Stratos I have only seen on the Corrado colours site. Whilst I appreciate the reds and yellows I think they are a younger mans choice. The greys and silvers I used to really like, it's just that every second car sold these days seems to be a silver one. I can't remember the last time I saw a Merc that wasn't silver or BMW either.

How else are the government meant to pay for all those nice new stadia and sports arenas where people will be chucking blancmanges and throwing jam-jars around or something in 2031?..Tax the shit out of the motorist, the mugs.

I agree with the above comments. I think they're just too modern for the Corrado, although I do like the look of Audi TT seats in a C.

 . I quite liked the idea of you mucking about with crack pipes too, Craigowl. I remember when I first joined the forum and seeing pics of your Corrado Craigowl, thinking that's the kind of Corrado I'm after. Everyone thinks their own colour Corrado is the best. Classic Green really is.

I'm lovin' Strato Blue Metallic from the colours site, anybody own one here?..would like to see more photos. Limoge Blue makes the Corrado look more modern, nice colour.

..as for Hamster... wtf, are they reforming Busted or something?!!??!?!?!?!?! I was thinking more along the lines of a Richard Madeley wannabe. -
I thought this would have been posted before now: Reading the Daily Record (it's not something I make a habit of) on Saturday morning, I was pretty shocked to read that a VW Corado(as it was printed)driver in his thirties was killed in an accident around 9am Friday involving two lorries, the only other info was that a 19(!)year old lorry driver was being treated for shock. This happened near Stirling. My first thought was that it was/could be someone on here, I sincerely hope not. My only link with this person is the car that I drive, but still find this news so poignant.

Who could possibly object?..except Clarkson haters/tree huggers. I mean that's what salt-flats in Africa are for.

I like the fact that the IROC looks to be as aero-dynamic as a cheese sandwich (entirely in-keeping with the current VW ethos). It's early days and the finished article will be very different no doubt, but at least there will be an interesting new addition to the VW fleet. I just don't get wood with Golfs/R32 etc. It would be nice to have a 'sporty number' to break the mould. They should call it the Corrado.

No need to hang your head in shame. It's an excellent book for novices and covers just about everything you'll need to know. The title is the worst thing about it.

Indeed they are . A couple of months ago, in my early hours drive home from work, I passed one on a dual carriageway. I was well in front, we tussled for a few miles but then like a cat bored playing with a mouse he just decided to destroy me and eased past.

Put my Corrado in for a service the other day. The Grease Monkey picks my car up at my place and drives it to the garage (he lives near me). My missus bless her, went to pay the bill ( my dosh, work nightshift :D ) , knowing that the greasey monkey likes my car, said that she would take the Corrado and he could drop her Rover 200 at the flat. No he didn't like that , and started saying it was cool he had squared it with me he would drive the C home. Anyway, the boss of the garage who carried out the service was saying that the car was in unbelievable nick for it's age ( a 12 year old car in this day and age is a relic). This may have something to do with the fact that I fettled the damn thing the day before, a "quick" 1.5 hour wash and vacuum. 'er indoors thinks I'm mental washing the car before a garage gets a hold of it, but to my mind I know they like the car and it would be bad form presenting them with a manky VR. Oh yeah, the gibbon wants to swap his brand new astra something-or-other for it . :cuckoo:

Haven't seen you yet Vardo-would definitely remember seeing a silver C, not too many around. -
Nice one. I'm still really a novice when it comes to maintenance/mechanical knowledge and this site seems to put everything in laymans terms.

Do you live in EK? I've seen/passed a dark-coloured Corrado in Hairmyres/Mossneuk area a few times. -
I don't think that picture does the is200 any favours, in blue it looks very nice. I'm hoping to convince her indoors that a 200 is the car she wants.

I could be wrong, but I'm guessing the answer doesn't involve people 30+.

Doh, got pulled by the police Friday night

There's enough there to get me right p*ssed off. Hopefully you're not a geezer. -
I think the photograph makes the car look more special than perhaps it is. That's no criticism of the Corrado, it just seems a very well-taken photo of a good OEM+(As it's known in the business) Corrado.
