blackcat replied to LisaK's topic in General Car Chat
Ha Ha that just made me laugh out loud   -
I grew up in Leighton Buzzard (don't really know if I should be admitting that on a public forum   ) and my mum still lives there so I go back every now and then. I don't think I've ever seen a corrado about! Nice car btw khurrado, it it the best colour!

Have all the sprinters been sent out now because I haven't received mine yet? edit: p.s. I'm not putting blame on anyone I just wondered

I've given up trying to get any recognition/respect from garages. I always try to get boyfriend to talk to/deal with them- not the way it should be but it's just easier that way

I went from a valver to a VR6 and in my opinion the VR is sooo much better :D Like swfblade says, they are completely different to drive but the power that the VR has and the lovely noise it makes as you put your foot down are second to none 8) I have never driven a g60 so I can't comment on that. There may be some forum members in your area that would be willing to take you out on a little test drive so you can compare them for yourself.

But adding that extra money to the mortgage raises the monthly interest and therefore payments quite a bit. We looked at doing it when we bought recently and it just added loads on. We were originally going to take out a separate loan for the money but luckily my grandad stepped in and gave us the money for fees and stamp duty. Now we have bought the house we are thinking of selling the car because I'd rather be spending money on doing the house up than fixing the car!! It all depends how you prioritise things.

Turn the stereo up really loud, that's what I do

yeah, I thought that the last two letters denoted the area in which it was registered

Exhaust was £370 ish. Brand new from VAG. We didn't have the time to look for second hand as it needed an exhaust for MOT and we needed MOT asap to get the car back! If it wasn't for this forum I would've sold it ages ago (actually if it wasn't for this forum I wouldn't have the VR in the first place  ). I think our decision at the moment is to hang on until spring and then see how we feel about it.

Not_Aircooled_or_Taxfree, your opinion is not worth anything, we are not having a T25 :nono:

 That's crazy

Good luck with your search mate, we haven't definitely decided to sell yet anyway.

Warning, Dodgy seller doing the rounds on the car forums
blackcat replied to GIXXERUK's topic in General Car Chat
been mentioned already, seems to be doing the rounds on car forums atm http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?p=631806#631806 -

That's what the golf is, my cheap hack that I don't care about. When/if we sell the VR, we will probably just get a mk2 gti. I don't think the other half would ever entertain the idea of anything other than a VW!
-
If we could afford it (and had a garage) we'd keep it as a fun/occasional/toy car but we need two (cheap) cars. When we bought it we were in a completely different situation and did have the money to run it but now we are just using it to get to work and back and she deserves more than that!!
-
Yes we have just spent quite a bit on getting a new MOT but that could be quite a good selling point - 12 months MOT plus new exhaust and various other bits. Oh, a not using it isn't an option we need two cars and can't afford to get another unless we sell the VR. Perhaps hold on for another month or two.
-
Ok, I'm having a bit of a dilemma, do we sell the VR or not? I know most people will be like 'no keep it, you'll regret it' kind of thing but at the moment it's just money going down the drain. We can't afford to run it and keep it and maintain it really. I've been thinking that we should sell her to someone that will have the time and money to give her the love she deserves :D The final straw really is the fact it just cost us £610 to get through MOT. That was money we were supposed to be using to go to New York in the summer  BUT, I've been keeping an eye on sale prices recently and they don't seem to be selling for much at the moment and I don't want to sell if we're going to get really crap money for her. What do you guys think? What kind of money could we get for an L reg VR in average condition (she's not mint but she's no banger either)?
-
I know what you mean mate, we've just paid £610 to get the 'rado through the MOT :?

Pikey scum! :lcop: Caught! And charged! :2gunfire:
blackcat replied to vwdeviant's topic in General Car Chat
Excellent news! :D Hopefully justice will be done. I love a story with a happy ending (not for him though obviously :-P ) -
Myself and the other half took out loans to buy the VR and paid half each. There is always the risk that the car will be written off and we will be stuck still paying the loan back but what is the difference between paying outright and then losing the money or still having to pay a loan for a car you haven't got anymore? (besides the interest on the loan) We didn't have any extra money to buy a car, we could have saved up a little and got a crappy little runabout but we really wanted a VR, so we got one!! It's all up to you in the end. Loans aren't bad things necessarily. It all depends if you can afford to pay it back or not.

Well speaking as a missus who has a corrado VR6 and who has previously driven a mk2 gti, I'd say the corrado takes much less 'manhandling' purely because the mk2 didn't have power steering and the 'rado does. But having said that I love(d) driving both (until the other half put a stupid tiny momo steering wheel on the gti which made it really hard when trying to parallel park  )

Corrado VR6 complete - Break it or ebay it ???
blackcat replied to swindon-corrado's topic in General Car Chat
Depends really if you have the time/space/patience to break it, if not stick on ebay and be rid of it!
