Not loose enough to come off easily. Don't think I have a plastic screwdriver in the jack kit  . If I had a socket, how does it actually come off though, I can't see anywhere to put the socket to undo. Is there a cover that comes off or something?
-
I would do if I could work out how to do it. Can I do it without any tools?
-
I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that this rain stops by the time I finish work so I can actually get home safely.

I don't know what the lines are made of. The garage is supposed to be looking at it today. The mechanic lives just down the road from me so I just drop the keys off to him and he'll look at it on my drive but considering the weather I don't think he will be doing it today. I'm slowly losing the will to live......

The arm moves freely so it must have come loose. Thanks for the diagram. They are lupo wipers, are they expensive?
-
PMSL@ Cliff Richard. I've been in a foul mood this morning since the windscreen wiper incident but you just made me laugh out loud so thanks GIXXERUK  I'll go and have a look at the wiper bolts when/if the rain eases off a bit.

AAARRRGGGHHH :bad-words: :bad-words: :bad-words: I am so p*ssed of with cars right now, I don't know whether to laugh or cry or just push them off a bloody cliff. Driving along the M4 this morning in the rain and wind and the wipers on the VR decide to f**k up. The passenger side one took on a life of it's own and started to come over the driver side and then both wipers got stuck and I couldn't see a thing!! Luckily I was just coming up to a junction so I came off and had to drive really slowly with my window open so I could see where I was going. Does anyone know what caused this?? I could really do with help because we need a least one car that is drivable :?
-
Yeah, going to get garage to have another look but I would guess that this most probably indicates a hole/leak/split in a fuel line somewhere.

AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH  :mad2: :bad-words: Back to square one. Car won't start again. Nearly had a Basil Fawlty moment with it this morning

It is fixed  Garage flushed and primed the system (or something) and it now works fine. He said to keep an eye on it as he may have just cured a symptom, not the cause. Anyway, it works for now and I have just joined the AA (just in case  ) A big thanks to everyone that tried to help me to fix it, I really appreciate it :notworthy:

Ha Ha Ha love it 8) Edit: it's not a UK spec car though, wouldn't the UK adverts have had a UK spec car?
-
Yes, think it need valve stem seals (or whatever they're called) doing but that is a little more costly than a few spark plugs every now and then :)
-
I don't really know much about the coil pack etc but you could check the spark plugs, ours gets funny every now and then, plugs 1&6 get a bit oily but we put new ones in and bob's your uncle (for another 6 months) :)

Aaaarrggh!! I've fitted new relay and fuel filter and it still won't start. I have admitted defeat and phoned a garage!
-
Yes, it is a bit harsh that people have shopped him but he is obviously a mahoosive dumbass and so deserves everything he gets imo

Don't know the answers to any of the above questions but welcome to the forum anyway mate :D

LOL, I think it makes it to 60 in about 16 seconds  It is quite slow but my other car is a VR so a lot seems slow compared to that! But it's not too bad past 3500 revs when the turbo kicks in. I didn't buy the golf out of choice really, I need a cheap runaround that I don't care if it gets stolen/dented etc and the golf fits the bill.

Yeah that's what I thought at the time but whether I had persued the claim or not wouldn't have made a difference to whether she was allowed to drive or not.
-
Followed your advice vwdeviant, and yes it does get better after p12
-
I would have to say my Nova, even though I loved it at the time but that was just because it was my first car given to me by my parents when I was 17.

and call everyone names, obviously they don't have a swear filter on that forum  I got bored after about page 5, what a proper idiot

I agree with this too. Try it the nice reasonable way first, if they don't respond then get the insurance/police involved. True, it wasn't very nice or reasonable of him to just drive off but you never know the reason behind it. One day someone drove past my parked car and took the wing mirror off, I heard the noise from my back garden but no one stopped. My neighbour got the reg number so I stormed down to the police station and reported them - It turned out to be a little old lady who didn't know that she had done it and was so guilty she came round to my house with a bunch of flowers. I felt so guilty I never followed up on the claim

lol let's hope not

Cheers guys, I know that the relay locations are in the hand book because I looked recently when the indicators were playing up. Other half is picking up a new relay from GSF this afternoon. Keep your fingers crossed for me :)
