Is changing the ignition barrel an easy job? The one on my old 16v went a few years ago but I took that to a stealer to be done and they ripped me off and broke my immobiliser so not going back there  Now, my golf ignition is playing up, nearly got stuck in Tesco's car park the other night :? So, I'm thinking of sorting it out myself and just wondered if anyone had done it and how easy it is? Plus besides the stealers where can I get one from? Ps. sorry if I haven't posted this in the right section pps. I have done a search but couldn't find much information

It is quite annoying but I suppose it's not cost effective for Haynes to produce a manual for a Corrado as there aren't that many out there. Whereas chaved up Novas are bloody everywhere and they will sell more of those manuals.

If you rang VW with the vin number or whatever its called, would they be able to say if it's a jet?

How about these, they look fun... CrapTrumps

I love my VR very much but my heart is having a little argument with my head at the moment because my head thinks I should sell it. Some days I think 'yes, right I'm going to sell it' other days I look at it and think 'nooooo!'

Cool game, only managed two points before I got beat though

Hmmm, don't know what I'd do in your situation. You could tell him that you haven't got a problem with him getting the car HPI'd but you are not going to pay for it yourself BUT he may just turn round and decide he doesn't want the car. Depends how desperate you are to sell the car

This happened on my old valver, I just got a new ignition barrel with a new key. I ended up with a different key for every lock on the car

Cool, didn't know about that site, we need some new plugs and I was going to pick some up from dealers as Halfords sold me the wrong ones

I've just had similar problems with my golf TD, turned out to be a faulty glow plug relay that was blowing a fuse. -
It all depends how much spare money you've got for running costs/repairs etc. If you're on a tight budget then a gti might be the way to go, whereas if you've got a bit more then you could splash out on a VR. I've just bought my first house and I'm now finding that all the spare money I have I want to spend on the house not the car so we're thinking of selling it. (the car that is not the house  )

Ha Ha yeah you have to watch your speed in a VR, I was gliding along the M4 at what I thought was about 70-80, looked down at the speedo and I was nearing 100  . Slowed down pretty quickly  A VR is a heavier car than a Mk2 gti (i think) but because the VR has PAS it doesn't seem like it! I currently have a VR and other half used to have Mk2 gti so I have driven both quite a bit and I would say the 'rado handles much better. (but you have to bear in mind they have completely different suspension set ups) My daily driver is a mk3 diesel golf which is like a boat to drive so it is nice to have a little drive in the VR every now and then

I love CSI (and CSI:Miami and CSI:NY!!). I also watch Criminal Minds and NCIS. In fact, channel five is probably my most watched channel. I also like Desperate Housewives and ER (but being a women I guess I'm in the minority on here) Oh and I love scrubs, so random at times but v funny :D

I am after this aswell, posted about it earlier this week but no one answered me :(

It is a serious issue for those who have lost family members in car crashes to then see this t0sser bragging about his crash. But I do agree that it has been blown out of all proportion. Edit: woohoo 1000 posts, I'm now a nutter 8)
-
lol  I think its because the golf is a well know car and is everywhere so people know what they are, they also know that a gti is a better model.

The other half's brother is fitting a 2l 16v engine into his scirocco and needs some wiring diagrams to do so. Has anybody got some that they could kindly post up or email to me. Ta :)

You mean parking in two spaces? Yeah you're not the only one it drives me mad  Edit: but I suppose in a private car park it's not so bad

I know it's not nice having their blood all over your stuff but take some comfort in the fact that they hurt themselves :D -
Well the rain held out until I got home (and I had to go the long way round as old bridge was shut, had my fingers crossed all the way) I have tightened the bolt and that seems to be holding for now. (Keeping the socket in the car for a while!) Thanks for everyones help :D (What would I do without this forum? ) (I like brackets)

PMSL  I am so bad at swearing when I'm driving, in fact I'm so bad at swearing all the time. I am trying to cut down but those naughty words just keep coming out of my mouth  I hardly ever use the see you next tuesday word though, if I call someone that then they've really pissed me off

Yeah, it's just my passenger side too but it keeps straying over to the driver side and then they both get stuck. You should have seen me on the motorway this morning, I had the window open with my arm out poking the passenger wiper back over the side it should be  Quite funny now I think about it but wasn't at the time because I couldn't see a bloody thing, luckily there was a traffic jam on the m'way so we were only crawling along anyway.
