  1. The cha-cha-cha sound is not a bad thing, why do you think it is? It's a normal phenomina and comes from the way air works under compression, the waste gate creates this flutter in conjunction with the dump valve, in the same way a fart sounds like a rasp instead of a smooth release of air, you do not need to vent the air off as quick as you say Kev as all this tends to do is leave the turbo working harder to build up the pressure needed again and extending the lag factor, hence the introduction of anti-lag systems on rally cars etc. Plus it arouses my loins and gets me excited and it's far more a seductive sound than a chavvy Tishhhhhhh on every throttle back-off or gear change. Chris
  2. Pretty good they are! Chris
  3. Following with interest, mine is prob the lowest output Fi VR6 on the forum now, ho-hum! Can i buy your exhaust manifold off you poss? Chris
  4. Is this the bit you are stuck with? if so then this type of ball joint splitter is the easiest to remove even the tightest of track rod ends! Chris
  5. I have had Nitrous and a Vortech V9 on my car for years, what ever people want to say is fine but if you want it just do it, it'll work, use a 25 shot for the cooling effect and this will stop any pinking be significantly cooling everything down, it goes in at -160C and won't give much difference in combustion temps. Mine is fitted with 100bhp jets. It will wirk even better when you get round to fitting an FMIC too, then you'll be able to out accellerate the Wire whilst the bottle lasts. Chris
  6. Which are u using, the P8pro? Chris
  7. Sounds like a plan though i'm saving up for a 996 Chris
  8. I use the Alpine Sat-Nav system in my VR but it will come to £2700 to buy the kit and install it yourself, it's very good mind and the TMC can be a great advantage in certain conditions if you take notice of it! Chris
  9. Yeah the cams will be the ones to check, the lower chain will be lined up fine. On the MPG note, H8RRA reports very low MPG of 250miles or lower to the tank, i get 100miles more than that, that's one of the reasons that i've left it in stage1 guise for so long. Chris

I have a feather! I seem to have less and less to say as time goes on, maybe it's time for a new car. Chris
  11. Pretty car, welcome to the forum. Looking at the air filter and hot air shield, i wonder whom had it and if so were they a forum member? Then again you might have added it yourself  Chris

I like the charger and will play with it for some time yet, i have a turbo'd car i can use everyday but it usually just sits there, and it has nitrous on it so it's all down to what you wantm the Skyline is at 650bhp and would put it against any Corrado on the forum but i choose to use the VR simply because i like it, turbo's loose thier lustre just as easy Kev and you have different problems with them, you'll be fed up of the turbo setup more times than enough i'll promise you and this forum will document your experiences as i'm sure you'll blog it all down, it seems like the grass is greener on the other side but when you get there it tastes pretty similar. Power isn't everything to me and which ever route people take i hope to read good results and interesting comments, after all this is what the forum is all about. Chris
  13. Am i missing something here?
  14. Yip it's a good job, get ya website sorted and post it around all the forums and i'm sure there will be some takers, try the Merc and Porsche forums etc as they will think less of the money and will appreciate it more than these £3000 cars generally i'd have thought, i think £5 is dear to wash my car but i won't take it through a carwash, prefer to get it hand washed so at least i care that much and if money was less of a restriction then yes, i'd employ the occassional professional to do what you do! Chris

The thing is, the 24v head to my knowledge won't fit the VR and i can't go to the expense and difficulty of the R32 so boring is a cheap option with the rebore at around £200 or less and pistons at £50 each plus duty etc so other than gaskets all the work is done by me and remapping is the same cost whatever size the lump is so that's trhe thinking behind it. I'm not going to do this at the moment mind but thoughts are always in my head and sometimes things come of them. 24v will always be the aim though for flow regardless. Chris
  16. I used double sided sticky tape to stick my 'Supercharged' badge on and it's solid so either way. Chris
  17. Your site wasn't loading but i got the same url but with .com and it was $75 and thought that was good but expensive to get my VR to USA. Good job, lots of effort, i'd die if i did that much work in one day! Chris
  18. ....and the cost for this work? Chris

The difference here are to do with forced induction, if you are running 7 or 8psi you are making the engine effectivelly 50% larger than the same size engine in N/A form so you can see when it comes to FI the reboring is very effective in power production as a step. So boring out 200cc larger will transpose into 300cc larger with a mere 7 psi and some lads here are running 12+psi so work it out for yourself from there. Chris
  20. Yeah i only licked it twice but already i could see the Schimmel shimmer  Chris
