Stainless steel VR6 6-2-1 exhaust manifold - whats the best?
Chris VR6nos replied to martyjmcfly's topic in Engine Bay
From what i've seen, the raceland one is as good as any especially for the money! Chris -
Ok well i've gone and got some Mintex Extreme, £67.99 but will be getting some discount off that, will be at the shop on Monday i expect so we will see what's what with them, i do rate Mintex so hope these are decent. Cheers Chris

The thing is, by your posts i can tell right away that you are just entering the arena of nitrous injection as there are fundimental errors in your statements! Chris

How much are the Pagid ones and best place to get from? It's been many years since i've bought other than regular pads, back in the day i used Mintex 111 or some number like that and they were a hard fast road pad that was impressive when up to temp. Chris

Yeah i forgot about not needing VR6 pads as mine are off an Audi S3. Chris

Thanks for that, i really thought there'd be a few more posts mind. The £160 is out of my price range and remain in your domain Wyres! I'm using the 288's and they are excellent indeed, loads of confidence along with the Goodridge hoses. I'll get something around the £50-60 mark Chris

That may be an issue  The probe is in the cat pipe. Chris

Brake pads on your VR6 What you using on your VR? how much are they? are they any good? do they make much dust? are they a sexy colour? If there are questions i've forgotten to ask, please answer them too please  Chris

Helps to increase engine performance by keeping the exhaust gas hotter and thus keeping gas exit speed up. Chris

CorradoVR6-n.o.s's VR6 Turbo,,now sold :(
Chris VR6nos replied to CorradoVR6-Turbo's topic in Members Gallery
Yeah the fuel rail comes with the manifold as the origional one can't fit with the Schimmel! You also need to use a dedicated RRFPR too Chris -
You're not american with that flag! You're living in america! There be the difference. Chris
-
And how fast can you go on Jersey? Chris

CorradoVR6-n.o.s's VR6 Turbo,,now sold :(

James, remember to use thread lock as the fuel pisses out if you don't regardless of how tight you do up the fuel rail fixings! Chris -
nice! Chris
-
James(CorradoVR6-n.o.s) has just got one but like the new Schimmel manifold, it will gather dust for the longest time! Hint, shove.............. Chris
-
Yip it's normal, worry when it's not doing that cos something could crack with the rising heat build up if it doesn't! Chris
-
Mainly because of speed cameras, they want the easiest job catching you. Mine is [spoil]K1 CPW[/spoil] and i like it, it's mine. Chris

When i looked at the broken cylinder liner picture when the page loaded the first thing i thought is that it needed a liner brace and reading on, that is the solution along with what they are selling which is the new rebored liners but at a high price as they are only about £20 each inreality then rebore them and hone the liners. Chris

Yeah good stuff, just an observation, welcome to the Corrado forum my friend! Good to have you with us, hope you find it a good place and don't dissapear off to the Vxxxex anytime soon. The exhaust manifold is on my list of things to do. I think it is a worthwhile addition for the VR especially when using a Vortech supercharger. Chris
-
Just that you seemed to be knowledgable to a fine degree about the warranty thing, i was quite impressed. Oh, and stop being so defensive  Chris
-
Yeah but he wears white socks! Where is he these days anyway? Paul FFS please get the engine plastics and find my control panel from the SS garage will ya? Chris

I knew you were american before i opened the thread by looking at the thread title using the word 'headers' as we call them 'manifolds' in the rest of the world! Not many people have changed them, supersprint are probably the most expensive but i'd say that the Raceland are the best value for money at around 1/3 if not less of the price. Performance wise, i wouldn't think there would be anything noticable between them. Chris
