  1. I think they are all mislead! Iknow of ppl whom have sold thier VSR when going for a charger! F1 engines are N/Aspirated and don't make boost but relies upon the gas flow acting like a fluid detailed earlier to cause a positive (super)charge effect. Andy, the stuff is available but he has not yet given me a price, i'll email him now! did you see the thread about cheap air filters in the for sale topic since our conversation? Volumetric efficiancy through correct stoichiometric A/F ratio is the bottom line to power! Chris
  2. Was very upset, think there was a little tear, it's been 6months since i crashed and i've not been the same since! My mate Paul who had C6 SVR first will prob take me up to get it maybe 2moro. Chris
  3. Beautiful car but I thought it looked black! Clean ya carpet m8 LOL Chris
  4. The speedlines were put on after the crash, std brakes are ok 'till you stop a few times then you get break fade, but 312mm or 320mm discs with 4pot brembo's are to go on. I pulled out to see past roadwork barriers and an old couple in a Corsa hit me from the side, they said they were doing 40mph before they braked, the skid marks were only 6foot long! Went to see it today, should be getting it back tomorrow!
  5. Kev, Strongly beg to differ, I'm always open minded & don't mind getting proven wrong! :D Tha last thing you want to do is introduce something flamable, all i can say is Stoichiometric A/F ratio!! And you do want to change the flame front as this is the reason to introduce the water in the first place not only to cool the air mass before the inlet valve. The squish area should really be measured and adjusted as this cools the filling volume and creates swirl effectively if designed right, as we know swirl is what it is all about (Ford CVH engine) but this can't happen once combustion has started, so retarding combustion (not timing) is the name of the game. Chris
  6. Is it not just an old GSM mobile phone amplifier? Have you got holes on the passenger side of your centre console where a phone cradle has been? Chris VRsix
  7. Some pics of my baby, but soon to be back to life! Get the Nitrous back on and fit the Vortech Supercharger in it's rightful place! :D  :D  :D Feel free to offer comments! Chris VR6nos
  8. Hi Scotty, Welcome to the bestestest forum! :-D I take it you haven't read through the supercharging the super coupe thread fully? I think the subject of the Z charger was well explained (by me) I have a good interest in these and found out pleanty, but like Scott said the Vortech chargers are the best, take a look at mine in the other thread there are a number of pics in there, although not the full kit displayed, ceramic coated pipes, cosworth dump valve and much better software are just a few things that are incorporated in the much more comprehensive Vortech system kit! VF-engineering are actually doing a trade up from the Z-charger to the Vortech one if you've got one. They work well enough but you have to do a couple of things to keep them happy but they are limited in power delivery. LowG, mines a Henry of Billy's brother and 5 little fellas! ok? Using an inter cooler with the 'Z' or the 'Vortech' charger is very difficult by virtue of thier design and virtually impossible to get the gains expected from the G-Lader charger or a turbo, but a worthy alternative is water injection, and with a well set-up system you can remove upto 90% of the charge temp and that is way more efficiant than an intercooler plus water is free! 9. It's called positive pulse code tuning! The higher the revs, the higher the frequency of pulses so the shorter the induction tract needs to be to get the pressure waves to push the air into the engine and as gasses act like a fluid when moving the longer the tract needs to be for slower moving air at low reve. Fill a tube of water up then open the bottom and let it drain out but before it empties put your hand over the top of the pipe to seal it, what do you feel! the sudden stop of the water sucks on your hand because of the momentum of the water, the same is true with a gas, get the drift? It's hard to describe by typing and you for get the thread of your thought by the time you type it but i hope this helps and you can grasp my ramblings! :D Fiew Chris VR6 Ask away, if i can answer it i will!
  10. Joe did you notice the golf with the Vortech V2sq kit on? Engine 2.8 12v VR6 - - Eurotech Racing / Vortech V2SQ - - Schrick VSR manifold - - big valve head - - Schrick 248SC cams - - moddified throttle body - - Chip Star - - ERL water injection Performance 293bhp with 258lb/ft Drivetrain Stealth / Gemini 6 speed gearbox with customized 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th gear ratios and that's a 2.8, the VSR doesn't give anymore power top end as it is a mod for mid torque alone, and the Corrado has the bigger throttle body already! Want some power? Chris VR6
  11. Joe, Sounds great, so that's £500 for fitting, not bad! cheaper than the EIP turbo system! I enjoy the sound of the charger and they are a bit more special than turbos aswell, you seriously interested? The fun is fitting it yourself though and it's not hard even with basic tools. I bet the actual price goes up from that when they start doing them though, depends howmany the buy in at a time! Hence me saying that a group but would be a great idea but it is a lot to pull out all at once for a lot of ppl! I'm unemployed at the moment but paid for the charger lit just a few weeks before the company i worked for went bust :-( Don't regret buying it, just made things tighter! Chris
  12. Jim, you're prob right about ins companies but there are a few that are happy with the mod! Ins companies are there to make money pure & simple so a higher risk is usually shyed away from but that goes for any mod! VR6 Tom sold his turn2 cold air induction kit 'cos his ins. was being awkward and wanting to put a large charge on his premium for what prob would have given 1-2bhp difference or so in real terms!

    Engine mounts

oooh, think my post count has got stuck on 72 :-( I've posted lots more than that!

    Engine mounts

James C if i'm not misstaken!
  15. A friend got one that looke exactly like that to fit to his Civic Del Sol and paid £30 form scrappy! I'll find out what his is off & let you know! How much did you pay?
  16. If you are reading this have you looked at the FILTERS offer??
  17. Chris VR6nos

    Engine mounts

Kev, I see what you say but the mount is described as "VF-Engineering (formerly Z-Eng) MK3 VR6 GTI/2.0/Corrado VR6 front engine mount. Price: US$ 179.00" I copied & pasted directly from the site just now and in further paragraphs it does explain about a gearbox mount but this is described as a front mount as you can see!! a little confusion here and there.

    Engine mounts

Ok Joe they are $179, I'll let you work that out :-) but will get clarification further to getting some. and any discounts!

    Engine mounts

n.o.s? Elaborate! Click here to see what VF-engineering say about thier front mount. It is designed to take the power & abuse it will get from having a supercharger twisting & pulling at it, so presumably will operate well on a std motor. Again if a few wanted them, including me as mine have 144,000miles on them :-(, i'd hope to get a good deal on them! Chris
  20. Exactly! but if you are sensible you will be fine, act like an idiot and you'll get into trouble even without Nitrous! Have you checked out my topic in the Parts for sale section about Filter kits>? Have a look and give some feed back Kev.
  21. A good water injectoin system for less than the Aquamist system Refillers are becoming more wide spread so good news there. Nitrous is not illegal on a road car but you are required to display a sign that informs that you are carrying a pressurised cannister. £40 will fill an 11lb bottle that takes me a month to use and it got used a lot! Water injection http://www.noswizard.com/graphics/water ... system.jpg Car nitrous systen http://www.noswizard.com/graphics/carnitroussystem.jpg
  22. No prob mate, You're a bit far away for ppl over here to be of much help, however there is a company called jabbasport (has this been mentioned?) A guy called Michael runs it and specialises in the G60 and can make an accurate map for your particular car if supplied with some r/road data you get from over there, he's not mad expensive and can do different stages of tune too. If you were to ask, he'd probably sent you the address file aswell so you could make your own adjustments as you like! I've just written my eprom yesturday and removed the soft cut limiter & moved the hard cut to 7000rpm, injector pulse duration & frequency etc is all adjustable!
  23. I've heard that only fitting the front ARB is a good option as this is still forgiving but counts where it matters, at the front!
  24. Apexi is over there would that be something they would be able to do?
  25. Tom, my Avatar has stopped, why? I looked in my set-up and the URL has gone, where has is gone? I've not deleted it and can't remember
