Here's a couple more, some relative, some not: I'm off to Begium for a week to goto VW Mania, hope to get some good pics from that! Chris
-
You will go for the poverty model though! Get the Avant guard or at least the concept 400! Take no notice of me i don't have one but if and when the cash apears i'd have one and use the remote start module to warm the C up on a cold morning before i venture out into the snow or rain! I think they are good. Chris

A charge cooler is the better for supercharged systems than turbos from all the research i have read into and the people i've spoken to. Water injection is the best answer for results to cost equation but can only really bring the charge temp down to ambient temp but adding other solutions can help within limits. 40C is apparently the optimum charge temp. N2O will stay at -160C for as long as it is compressed but there you have the problem because of the pressure involved to contain the N2O. A combination of the charge cooler and the refridgeration system is called an igloo and Vortech who make the chargers i have on my VR manufacture an igloo but the cost is prohibitive at between £1200-£1500 and all the drag cars over 1000bhp use these. So, if you are involved in the developement of a charge cooling heat exchanger, there will, I expext be plenty of people interested at the right price. Chris

17s with ofset of 38 will they fit raddo g60 ok
Chris VR6nos replied to brian g60 corrado's topic in Engine Bay
Cramer, spot on. The higher the ET figure the more they dish in and the lower, the more they stick out which may be better but can catch the arch lip if too low or soft suspension. Chris -
Eurotrash is good tonight! I listen to the charger whistle! but would listen to other stuff if someone had a cheap sony changer for me! Chris
-
Here's a pic illustrating the love of Corrados. Chris
-
stormseeker, To offer you some inspration, James's was much the same as yours with lots of laquer aged into the shiny bits to be! Chris
-
Is the main problem not down to the fitting in the first place as they are very finniky to install properly Chris
-
Funny you should say that because i tried to video the needle but it was impossible to do as the movement & vibration made it so hard to keep the cam still enough, i have seen vids before and they are steady so i don't know how they did it but i can't. Might try to put a clip on here if i can Chris

My vr6 uses 38 offset as std i believe but i am using a 35mm offset with a 7J 205/40/17 and no probs! Chris -
And maybe a bit of video action! If you know what I mean! ;-) Chris

I agree Paul but the quiet gears on my charger make it deceptive, still, i think it will be a good idea to get a H2O kit fitted at least then work towards getting a chargecooler sorted. It then needs a re-map maybe from Jabbasport as they did Pauls previous red one and it worked well. I still get people asking why you sold that car so cheap for! Chris
-
I'm not going which is a shame, still, I only found out about it at 10pm tonight! Cheers Barney but needed to know earlier, good to meet you tonight though, car looks in nice condition, and you didn't pay too much for it. Steve, what have you done to give you 200+bhp? is that a guess? is it at the flywheel? just curious. I need to do more to mine to get it to 300bhp without the nos. what did you get the biggest gains from? Chris P.s. Lads don't forget to take lots of pics!!

On the subject of humbling, I had a play this evening with a TypeR Civic on the way back from Newcastle airport. He had his mate in the car with him and must have said something like "watch this" and his mate, i imagine must have said "watch what? that VR6 is pissing on you"! By the time 120mph came up he flashed me as I was getting smaller infront of him so I dropped back to 70mph and pulled into the left lane and he waved as he went by, nice to see the spirit is still alive. So yes, I agree the VR's mid torque is strong and builds and builds but 4000rpm even with a charger on is still the magic number isn't that right PaulG40? Chris
-
Twaddle the lot of it! I am however interested in knowing something about the cams if anyone is clued up the specs for these engines! Nitrous gives you the most torque and is the cheapest and qiuckest and doesn't knack your engine unless you're stupid! Chris
-
James, Try to get an earlier time if a meeting is planned so some good pics can be taken in better light. Chris
-
Glen, You're too good with Paint-shop-pro! Put our bumpers back to the propper colours and take the trees back off!    Paul, Yours isn't std, it has nitrous on! Chris P.s. The 17's on tha car are ZR-rated and the ones on the front were V-rated but were re-moulds!
-
ok mate, no worries Chris
-
Guys, I don't think I should be judged on this as it was 3am and only got in to the high speeds after passing a solitary car so we were the only ones on the road but admitadly it was a dangerous event and as i put it 'not something I want to do often' and I don't endorse this sort of action on a public road, BUT, it was exciting and adrenalising and a good test against another machine! Tom, you told me that you were doing 130+ up the mountain road last week! Don't drive silly and don't kill anyone including yourself and all will be well, but if these cars were meant to go 30 & 70mph only then they would have 1litre engines! Enjoy your VR6 and the mods you have invested in and continue your hobby and stay safe. Hows that? Come on lads lighten up I am more sensible than a lot of people but love my VR and what it can do and take it to it's limits, how many people can say they have done that with thier VR's? Lets not turn this forum into the Yahoo Egroup! My 2penneth worth  :evilbat: :multi: Chris P.s. Cheers VR6 for the ps comment.

Hmmnn...... Yes, the speedlines are on because the tyres on the 17's that were on the front blistered, when i get some spare cash i will put new 17's back on, but for now there she stays :( Cheers James, i'm saving up. Chris
-
Glen, Good pic, turned out well, not too dark as we thought! Mine is the lowest :D James, Nicely cought as I went past, try to get the front half in next time mate  Cheers Chris
-
Paul, You wanted to use the Nos? You should have said! Chris
-
I did have fun! The revs were around the 7000rpm mark but not quite and i have a std gearbox. I have done 160mph before and have spoken to a few people that have seen the same on thier C's. The MR2 showed 160mph and I was going past him, my speedo was about a 5mph gap past the end of the clock going by the graduations, anyway it was bloody fast and I don't want to do that many more times as it only takes a mistake once!! James, I don't have to show off by killing round-a-bouts Zebedy! sorry mate 8) stay cool. Paul, In all the excitement, I forgot to show you the flywheel :? Chris
-
It was good because I always said that I didn't really get the impression of power so enjoyed the chance to put it against a couple of capable cars for comparrison. Will use the nitrous next time to wheel spin past the MR2  I hear Mully has sold his red VR already, don't know why. Next step either a charge cooler which i'm told maintains full power and makes a difference of up to 30bhp from a hot engine in summer temperatures, or water injection but i have to get a smaller pully to give 8-9psi and take it to near 280-300bhp without the nitrous, see how it goes. Can't wait to get my ultra-lite flywheel on so it revs like a motorbike! I'll bring it along tonight to show because it's so sexy it's worth seeing. Cheers Chris
