    JMR

    Neil, many thanks
  4. I think the later ones had 170bhp rather than the original 150bhp, prob at higher revs. Think in general they are nice and soft and torque, generally softare than the 1.8Ts but with an exhaust they are guna sound sweet with 5 pots rumbling away like an audi quattro! Been a passenger in a 150 early one and it was "adequate", not sure how much tweakage there is about though?

    JMR

Does anyone have a number for JMR, the one i found on the web does'nt seem to work! But there were lots of JMRs listed! Sorry def being an iodiot but kind find it on here either ?
  6. Raddo - Wife - Fishing gear (not as much as Dazz!) - Bits I buy and throw away as they look rubbish, O and T H E C S A and i wont tell you what i think that stands for, but they are not nice people!
  7. Cool! cheers Kev, off to VAG now to buy everything etka have listed for a 94 vr, oh and pre 94 fr top susp cups, cheers for the info on that one!!
  8. Just been quote £30 to push bolt against comp valve, air tool the head off, knock it out the other way and put a new bolt in the other way round. Sounds like a winner to me then its game on again! ?? Thats what my garage reckon they do every time as the comp valve never come off.
  9. looks like i need new exaust & cat, lots more susp bits that were past it, WBs, drive shaft inner gaiter, ronals wont fit with the lower ride and my speedies need new tyres and a refurb, let alone pinking etc. My bubbling in the head to matrix pipe has also licked off again. The boys worked wonders yesturday though cant thank them enough, and they are still talking to me! We even showed the old girl some love at the end!
  10. Sounds good Kev, but 3k on the cc already says its time to draw the line somewhere before divorce kicks in! Great price agreed though as looking last night they looked like £130 on etka !
  11. Beam needs to come off and to remove it the brake compensator unit has to come off to allow the bolts out of the rear beam (not wanting to disturb the brackets). Alen bolts on the compensator valve have been rounded off (no it wasnt us!). To drill them out the exhaust has to come off, but to remove the exhaust the beam has to come off. Umm what the hey are we going to do now????????????????? Whish it had the nice bracket like the 16v holding it away from the beam, or the beam bolts came out from the car rather than out towards the centre of the car (congratulations Mr VAG once more!) Am i in trouble with this! Cheers guys Nick

    What about your hole? Grommit?
  13. Blimmey Steve, every time i see the pick of your black baby it makes me think my panel fit is sh.t, it looks so right in that pick!
  14. I've just got 40mm lowered green H&R springs and Koni Tas. They will be going on on sunday so i will post a pick with it done on 15s and 17s to give you an idea of the look. I've driven one with the same kit on and its tops! Not crashy but no body roll. Not cheap though, although i bagged nearly new springs for £70 which helped. Dampers were ny on £400, but thats on a VR. If you want an alternative you could try the FK AK copilovers, seen those on ebay for £280 and small delivery charge. Its a german co that ive bought off of and were very pleased with there service they were excellent. Mixed review on the FK stuff i think but cant beat it on a budget mate, and its 50-90mm drop adjustable i thinks?
  15. Old bill won't mind actually, his number plate is clearly visable, so speed cameras will still be able to get him, and speding is after all the only road saftey issue there is in this country right?
  16. Mines just as high as that on 17s, but not for much longer!
  17. Dont need to read this sitting down to a fridays work. I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO JELOUS that im starting to worry that i sit on the 4 th floor, cry, sniff, sob 190bhp pah.......
  18. Dinkus, that would'nt suprise me, its possible im sure. Sounds horribly familier to me. Bottom line on mine was that they had managed to slice through 3 of my HT leads when they changed the plugs, and actually put eletrical tape round the cuts. Red tape on the red leads and black on the black leads (yes i had a miture). Like i wouldnt notice that! Get anywhere? no i did'nt! Suprised? not anymore! Hope you get more luck than me mate, although its changing of late thanks to help from guys on here. Take it to a local specialist or Stealth, i recon they must be worth the drive for a service once a year.
  19. I've been in a raddo with 8x18s on 215/35 zr18s and a 40mm drop, dont know about camber but the rear arches were done. It lloked ok, but as for ride quality, well PREPARE FOR BIG DENTIST BILLS, those teeth will be coming out on anything but a race track beleive you me. I couldnt live with it, but perhaps im just getting old ! Im selling my 17s because of the ride quality
  20. and i thought they were 3 upstanding pillars of our community no pun intended

Kev, any chance of getting the shocks and springs before hand cheaper? Only my garage have offered to fit the lot for £200 including my VAG rear axel bushes! Not half bad in my book. But id have to source the susp and get it posted somehow. Then just leave stealth to do the tweaking, sensors etc etc etc etc etc as im sure they will find lots to do! Rather they did it all but thats a great price i think, and yes my garage have just bought the £1200 rear axel tool and say its great.
