  1. flusted, thats basically what im,looking for! did you notice any good gains or just helps lower the intake temp a bit, which cooler did you use? and was it a bit trail and error with the fitting and pipework? any help is appreciated as im basically trying to gather as much info then hopefully decide to hava go! CorradoVR6-n.o.s, and which merc one did you use? would either of the ones on ebay be any good or anything similar for the future? if i dont go for this one? cheers
  2. Just getting some advice really, if i was to fit an intercooler id have to do it on a budget. obviously the main thing would be the cooler itself and then the pipe work? but im a bit clueless as to what would be suitable, just as a feeler would these merc c & d class ones be any good or better than the g60 one. http://url.the-corrado.net/1256b8 seeing as its cheap as chips? i have very little knowledge so just testing the water really as to what and how i would go about this, and ive read quite a bit using the search and the sprinter intercooler seems a good buy but a tight fit? so if i went ahead what restrictions is there to what intercooler i can get (size etc) and where would i get the piping from, samco piping? g-werks? i know it sounds basic but im really just looking into it all, cheers for the help though, craig.

sounds like you've been busy then, bet it'll be a beast when its all done, iv been having problems with the abs after a garage changed my rear discs and pads but used the old abs rings so now i think they've gota strip it back down to put some new rings on, pain in the arse! due a service too but im not sure who to take it to, preferably someone who knows g60's local to me or ill have to make the trip to g-werks who i know i can trust, just petrol to get there and time?

    G60 chips

ill second that, sns chip is great. many ppl have even changed over from their installed jabba chip to sns for their no lag coding!
  6. i know jmr and g-werks are places i can take the car and not have to worr but i just cant make the trip, anyone with anythin closer?
  7. The time has come to get the car serviced, last year i took it to jmr and have since been to g-werks for bits but i cant justify travelling this far for just a service so does anyone know of any decent garages here in sunny bournemouth? obviously i want someone who is up to to the job and knows corrados rather than just a random garage which i may regret? are breeze vw up to the job in poole? im not fussed where it gets done as long as its done properly, any advice please, thanks craig.
  8. Yeah thats why im saying it could've been worse and just accept this as a slow down sign for the future, certainy does make you think too! can be a good thing as everyone thinks there invincible on the road after driving for a while with no accident etc but this helps to put you back in your place and realise you need to take care! well me anyway as i dont want more points or worse!
  9. yeah pretty much the same opinion, i just thought having been my first time id see what the general advice from anyone that knows about this was, but as bristolbaron, says i cant be bothered with the hassle of wriggling out of anything, its not like im on 9 points already, and like ive said, looking on the bright side it could've been a lot worse so ill take this as a sign to take it easy! thanks for the all the advice though, better to know about these things :)
  10. yeah i do agree, its not im trying to wriggle out of it, but obviously if there was a way then id rather that than the 3 points and £60 fine. Im not condoning speeding or that i shouldnt be punished but what i meant by 'sneaky' was that i was clocked from 451 yards away at 23:00 and i could not see the police car at all as they had parked it in a way that the ever so slight curve of the road and the petrol station signs hid it completely. The officer had to stand literally on the road, yards away from the car to catch people this far away, i saw them doing it as i was being booked, the road was clear with no parked cars and i know its no excuse but on a wide empty road sometimes you find yourself going faster than you think due to the misgiven perceptions of speed on such a road! i know its no excuse but thats what i meant by sneeky, its the way it was all set up, but yes id rather a ticket than hit a sneeky kid! i never speed in an area like a school/highstreet but obviously you cannot predict when someone will walk into the road but like bcstudent says, we all speed at some point, thats why we have the cars we do, otherwise im sure if everyone travelled at 30, 50, 70 then a diesel would be great! looking on the bright side it couldve been worse! just one of those things that happen!
  11. just thought id try and see if there was anything i could do but looks like im guna have to just accept i got caught! just so sneeky the way they do it! and jazzdevil, thats what he said to me as i had to brake hard to pull in and he said your lucky i got you when i did as you were going a bit faster after the reading, i shouldve said well these things do take off in 3rd gear! makes me wonder if id have just carried on and not pulled in would they know who i was etc? there was no picture evidence or anything so it would have been my word against theres? anyway its done now, cheers for the info guys
  12. so if i dont show up in 7 days and let them come get me, what your saying is they technically cant? or cant if its sent to the wrong address as the post code is right just the street no. wrong so postwise it'll prob still get to me? there were 2 ppl but one was busy clocking other drivers, got some one else in the 5 mins i was there, seem to be targetting younger drivers!
  13. Just been caught doing 46 in a 30 zone, pretty gutted as its my 1st ticket! anyone know of any loop holes i could use? apart from slowing down  heard the police had to check their radars etc before use so i made him show me the log book saying it had been checked, then i asked where was the road signs indicating cameras can be used in the area and he said there didnt need to be any, it was a radar gun!! just made him more arrogant i think!! then he had the cheek to ask me if it was a scirocco! Anyone got any dealing with all this? he did put my address down slightly wrong, put the street as 81 instead of ** barrack road?
  14. Congrats, looks absolutely mint! very nice indeed

    ------------

been interesting reading this post, CTWG60, your cars pretty much similar to mine, not sure if its exactly the same colour tho! performance wise i was out the other day and thought id try a 40-100 in 4th, never known the time, did it in 13.8 then 14.5. obviously its not scientific as it was done on my phone stopwatch while holding the steering wheel! but you get the idea, and topped it out at 140mph. interesting seeing the slightly different mods we have? ported charger, 68mm, exhaust etc but no fmic! anyone else ever done this just as a comparison! whats a vr time for this, still need to drive one to get the full experience!
  16. hi Holmes, where abouts in bournemouth are you? ive used john (JMR) and can he say his work is very good, and can also highly reccommend G-werks. i too wouldn't mind tho someone just round the corner for genral stuff, Timmy vr mentioned TAG engineering is in weymouth but ive never rang them so i couldn't comment on whether he would do a conversion? he mentioned toby is the guy to speak to 01305 767536, not sure is this helps, if you find any other garage then let us no :) have to sort some sort of meet out sometime with other forum members
  17. use the search mate, terms like corrado AND g60 or G60 AND power? The best thing about the g60 is the ease you can tune the charger. first priority is to make sure the charger has been rebuilt and has receipts to prove, then the best bang for your buck will be to chip it and get a smaller pulley. i run a sns chip with 68mm pulley from G-werks and it now absolutley flies along! all for about £200ish? you can also port the charger etc so it flows a bit more air! thats a really brief pointer but the search has pages of info! 8)
  18. hi mate, where abouts in poole are you? theres a few ppl in the area but ive not been to a local meet! vr looks lovely by the way, being cheeky can i ask how much? thinking of swapping myself and just been seeing whats about? in two minds whether a vr would be any better? need to drive one 1st i guess 8)
  19. Here's mine with the wiper removed, looks so much better imo! just used a blanking grommet from halfords and some ptfe tape to put it in snug and stop any leaking. best mod and costs pennies! Enjoy 8)

  21. its the same when i insured my g60, at 20 they said it had to have an alarm, at least cat 2 and when i told them it was the same alarm as above they said it makes no difference! the stupid guy said it would even make the insurance higher if they changed the policy to include this, but this was norwich union so i guess it was to be expected. im with brentacre now and there much better! hurray
