hi mate, not sure where your located but i eventually went to the fair repair centre in poole (01202676003), recommended by guys off the tidy vag site? they did an honest service and i rented a vw polo for the day while they serviced the car, only cost around £4 and i just had to top up the fuel i used! cars due again soon and if i dont go to g-werks then ill def be going there again! hope this helps located on banbury road too, postcodes BH17 0SR if you google map it. if your about you should try and make it down to a tidy meet, around the middle of the month!

does anyone know of this yellow c? i saw it parked in winton, bournemouth few months back and never got round to putting pics up? looked tidy, bar few scrapes, the interior looked very similar to a campaign one, not saying it is but was red leather dash, door cards etc?

thats a gorgeous engine bay shot, looks stunning! if only i had the bank balance to start a charged vr project!

deleting the boost return just helps to keep the charger running cooler, after a good thrash its still warm but cool enough to touch where as before it would have just as hot as the engine! and keeping things cool is a good thing, and its definitely done no harm. so now it just sucks fresh cool air which all helps with the intake system. definitely get some spray from g-werks tho, i give it a quick spray once a month to keep it lubed up 8)

always enjoy reading these write ups, awesome work. those reflection shots are amazing! great work!

what a drama, i followed toads advice and drilled the hole (spot on location by the way) and after depressing the latch and a little wiggle i managed to swap the barrel over to my new housing! joy! but when it came to fitting it onto the steering column i noticed the new housing had a metal lip where the sheer bolts go and the old one didnt, so surprise to find it didnt actually fit, despite being the same part number! instead if complaining to vw i just simply got the hack saw out and cut it off and it then fitted perfectly, so now i have a fully functional steering column and lock as brand new! its so nice to have the indicator stalks in the proper position :) so its finally back together, and yes the new lock housing does come with the steering lock mech attached, just a case of swapping over the ignition barrels and all is as good as new and no need for new keys etc! thanks for the help! such a frustrating job! 8)

mine is just the housing on its own, no key barrel. so now i have to transfer over the barrel and attach the new housing to the steering column as it was previously held on by 2 sheer bolts?
-
i plan on using a new lock housing so the steering lock will work. so if i drilled the ignition barrel out of the old lock, can i just place the whole ignition barrel into the new lock housing and itll secure itself? its turning out to be a right nightmare. thanks for the reply 8)

these things always seem to come at once, i had exactly the same problem in that i could start the car and drive forward etc just could not steer. having removed the plastic surrounds etc i drilled out the sheer bolts on the lock housing and it came away from the column and i could then just pull out the lock housing along with the broken steering lock so ive been driving around for a month with it all taped up Now ive just received the part from vw, a brand new lock housing to fit onto the steering column but i have the same problem in that i want to use the old ignition barrel as i don't want separate keys for the doors and ignition? How can i get the ignition barrel out from the old knackered lock housing and transfer it over to my new lock housing? which i can then attach back up. any helps much appreciated as this has to be one of the most frustrating things to have gone wrong yet!

nice, strangely i like that colour combination. i thought i read somewhere the veyrons were more than 1000bhp anyway, more like 1100bhp as they had to be sure it was producing at least 1000bhp being that is one of the main marketing points? wonder what was changed, a remap maybe? claims he lives permanently in the 7 star hotel too! suppose its cheaper than buying a multi-million pound house, and they make your bed for you 8)

looking lovely mate, wandering also about the dashboard paint. also about where you sourced the hoses, im looking at fitting an intercooler around the same size and just wandered where you got all the hoses and pipework from, would be really helpful. cheers bud, keep up the good work 8)

i think you'll find a lot out doing the search mate, but ive heard the schrick cam is the best for the G60 as it causes less boost loss through overlap? i think that right? if G-werks have recommended it then id go with them as they know what they're talking about and are really helpful. i don't know what power increase to expect, depends if you've got a chip, pulley, ported head etc? don't' know if you'd need an adjustable pulley either? i think it should just drop in simply enough, im sure someone will be along to advise you more professionally! sorry for the lack of knowledge! try the search tho and that may help! 8)

glad you got a cheaper quote elsewhere, Adrian flux came up trumps for me with a quote nearly half the price of my renewal!! highly recommended 8)

Hi trevor, craig from round the corner in xchurch. how's the corrado coming on? must be nearly ready! your friend will have to bring it to the tidy meet or something before he takes it home! and i imagine your caddy will be awesome too!
-
sorry to hear about that mate, it really ***** me off when people play ignorant and try to cover it up like that, expecting you to come back to your car and pay for it out of your own money! Praise to the supermarket staff etc as most may have just turned a blind eye. i hope you get it sorted, im sure some body shop will be able to sort it out.

and me, just joined the group and added few pics :)

im not entirely sure how it all works but with the lights, he put the camera on a long exposure and used a mini light to create the blazes over thae car, you can see tiny star movements in the sky! with the bonnet pic it was similar, he took a pic with the bonnet shut then open but used a flash to illuminate certain parts to get the effect of a semi-visible bonnet so you can still see the outline and curves on the left! these were only some taster shots as it was late etc but hopefully plan to get some more in the future! im clueless to photography and it was certainly interesting to watch!

give G-werks a call http://www.g-werks.com/Home/Default.aspx im sure they'll be more than pleased to help you out, and while your there you can ask darren about this lube thats been mentioned 8)
-
lol, yeah i heard darrens lube was the best so thats what i went for!! i see the benefits that the charger is just drawing in cooler fresh air rather than the hot unused vented air, hence why the charger stays so much cooler, which is a good thing. with a larger fmic the intake temps may not be any different with or with out the charger blanked but keeping the charger cool surely is a good thing! im quite prepared to oil the charger once a month and i like the noise it makes. each to their own i suppose. on my last rolling road it made 170Bhp and 178Lbs/ft at the wheels which isn't bad so i don't think its doing any harm 8)
-
yeah they were only a quick set as it was rapidly getting darker etc and he hasn't touched up any of these pics on his pc, literally just sent them straight over to me on msn as a taster! i agree the last pic would look better with the bonnet stand edited out but he just wanted to try out a few ideas etc with the lights and i thought id show you guys. hopefully going for some more soon when ive sorted the coilies and experimenting with yellow fogs?
-
just reiterating the points, after a good thrash the charger still stays relatively cool where as before it would be as hot as the engine! you get a little woosh sound when releasing full throttle. i squirt some lube from G-werks in there once a month and have just put a filter on the breather hose and its fine, no oil problems but then every G does differ. i recommend it but its your choice! 8)

literally just got back from a little shoot with my mate, he's got into photography over the last year big time and loves it so he's just taken a few shots of the car. he loves things to be perfect and the lighting was poor etc and he only thinks these pics are 'ok' but bearing in mind this was done about 22:45, not the brightest of times, and he's sent them straight over on msn I'm well chuffed!! I'm waiting to fit my coilies so its a bit high for my liking, these are the only pic's he's sent me so far but im really liking the results for a quick last minute snap

the wheels do look wicked. as for the lights i like the dark agressive look, but as in my sig i opted to tint the inners. subtle but i like it. if your unsure id look for some red c pics with normal lights and just try and see which look you prefer? be different leave the fogs and have clear headlights? dunno really, what ever your most comfortable with?
-
i take it the 16v turbo's going back in then, just re-built etc! should be awesome. certainly looking tidy! what wheels are they, schmidts? definately liking the look! keep up the good work
-
Hi mate, liking the car, could be way off but was this for sale few months back on ebay, 16v turbo? looking very nice anyway
