Cant wait to see how it goes def keep us updated, i found out about on ED38 in TSR shop they can supply for £550 for a "linited" time only not sure how that will compare after importing taxes etc, also on VWVortex somebody mentioned dont forget to buy the bolt??? upgrade kit too, suspect this is the same thing as what you need for the Quaiffe diff.

Much better mate, only 1 thing though, the holes you have drilled in the new bumper bit, you have long lines vertically and short lines vertically, you need the ends to match on the left its short on the right its long, it needs to be symetrical.

Right then in what order do things need to come off so i can remove the engine and gearbox and are there any specialist tools i will need to do so. Im talking the drvetrain elements of the car.

Arrow Grey FTW

Can all 20v gearboxes be used if the whatever flanges from a 110tdi are used as Radosteve has mentioned previously and which is the best ratio wise to rev to 8.5k ish with good accelaration and to use a rev range between 4.5k - 8.5k ish?

Bloody hell Kev just about to post up some info i found and you put what i was going to, i see you still know your stuff man. Edit So is it a good thing to notice it more? Less aggressive in the way that its not as fierce with torque steer basically on the straights and bumpies?

It's the B&M one that's notchy and horrible. The Neuspeed one is a proper bit of kit. Expensive though. I thought afterwards i was wrong but was not sure still so ta muchly for the correction. :salute:

I think the general consensus is stay away from them, see if dieselgeek still do them.

Its not going to expand in an instant and lock the wheel jammed with the caliper, it will just start to rub i would have thought.

Click me and scroll down for pics to crazydaves set up

If its clear and does not rub then its all good. :notworthy:

A good proper roll should be fine with those i would have thought, some people seem to get 9's all round with a slight roll on the arches.
-
Basically its whatever you want for the car minus a rebuild cost, thats what a buyer will want to bargain off the asking price.
-
Cool as truck :salute:

Try a good old soak in washing up liquid or a run through the dishwasher.

Which tools do I need for basic Corrado maintainence
junkie replied to yorkshireone's topic in Engine Bay
You do except the actual ratchet mechanism. If you bend a spanner been stupid with it or round off a socket then they will replace it, tbh the repair kits are £3-6 and a new ratchet is £10-20ish -
Wider wheels will always tram line but obviously by going not as wide the affect will not be as great, i am only talking from what i have heard though not with experiance, but the theory is do you want looks or handling or strike a balance/compromise/trade off between the 2. Search for A20 LEE for his build thread.

The ratchets are good but i have broken my 3/8" but through stupidty trying to undo wheel bolts, they do a epair kit but i would not bother with them as they are crap just buy another ratchet if you do something stupid like breaking 1. -
Yes the handling would change dramatically, no more throwing it around as good, more straight line tram lining, it will be a steady cruiser. I would imagine for sure they would need pulling out and rolling as the off set on the rear is low and the wheels are so wide, it has been done before A20 LEE ran 9.5" rears on his but had the arches done and im not sure what offset they were.
