  7. Well im off to buy a 12 point spline socket or tool tonight so can somebody confirm what does fit in and where from please as i was going to go to halfords. Everything is off now except the bloody head bolts.
  8. :tumbleweed: in here today on the forum Well got the coolant drained, made a mess still :D Nearly got the turbo feed lines off, frigging nightmare they are. Just need to know the size tool i need to get the head bolts out please?????? :shrug:
  9. Ok im getting there just got turbo oil and water lines to remove but i have noticed i dont have the right size torq bit to remove the head bolts. What size do i need? Whats the best way to remove the cam belt? Best place to drain the water/coolant from so as to not make a bloody mess everywhere?

  11. Oh yes dont get me wrong everything will be coming off on the outside of the engine except the inlet manifold, exhaust manifold and turbo, alreadt disconnected the downpipe. I named it G60 as more people are likely to answer than G60 turbo lol. My concerns are the actual bits inside the head as its going to be my 1st time taking it to bits so i dont want to damage anything whilst doing it, ideally i want to keep as much of the head together as possible internally.

  13. Hoping to do this tomorrow so could use as much info as possible. Like will it come off all in 1 built up or do i need to take the cam out, it doesnt matter if it needs stripping down as it needs to come off no ifs or buts, what things can i check whilst im in there and whats the signs of any trouble to look out for.

If you scroll down a little on the main forum page with Engine Interior Exterior etc you come to members threads Start a new thread like you did with this 1 then its all yours, post up pictures of your car as you progress with details of what you have done what you plan to do etc, its all yours basically. Well you choose the best forum to use for your 1st and also the best around generally, i shouldnt bother looking at the rest just stay around here Lucy :D

  18. You can legally undertake though if the lane to your right is moving slower than the speed limit and also if your lane can move faster all so as to keep the traffic flow going. So if your doing 70 in the left lane on a motorway and the middle lane is doing 55 then away you go.
  19. Ah yes came last night and the impossible bolt came right out instantly. For the record those are bloody awesome, def should be in everybodies tool kit now before you get stuck. Think the head still needs to come off though to check everything behind it.

So long as your happy dude thats all that matters and i know i would be, just get a big valve head on with some ford grey motorsport injectors and see how it feels then on the lanes, it then goes from 3.5k - the redline, just keeps on going and going literally with approx another 20bhp. Graphs are great to compare how the mods are working and how much difference they are making but sometimes you need to take a step back and compare things with the feel of it or the grin factor it gives you...

I know exactly what he means with how it feels between 3-5k, all of a sudden it just comes on cam and changes character nicely although i am comapring it with a big valve head as well, tbh i think the cam may be a little extreme, maybe suit a big valve head better to compensate for more flow from the cam. dirtyboy, i would not give up my mid to high end power up for the world, i prefer the exciting high end power against the lazy low end boring pull then nothing after, once you start tuning the engine with your plans and keep getting more power and so on im sure you will come round to my way of thinking.

  24. Good post and 1 i think somebody needs to put in the knowledge base before its lost. Agree with all on the flares etc i have all the tools already been a fridge man :D
